Okay...I have a scale in my hotel room so this is where I'm at 141.7. I'm okay with that while traveling...I tend to retain water. |

I would stay away from dairy. If you love cheese try Vegan Gourmet...it's dairy free and is super creamy and it melts! If you're looking for ice cream Soy Delicious is a great alternative that also doesn't have any dairy. You can also find soy based yogurts. Good luck! |

My weigh in this morning was 142.5 so basically the same as last week. On Saturday I was at 141.2 but then we had a poker game and I ended up drinking quite a bit of wine Saturday night. I think I'm going to chalk it up to my body holding on to a little extra water to deal with the alcohol consumption.
Good luck everybody else and congrats nycgirl! |

exactly like nycgirl says...log everything that enters your mouth and see where you're at. If you stay within your calorie goals then you are doing great! If not, then maybe cut out the olive oil or cut down on the cheese. Whenever I go over my calorie limit I look through what I logged (I eat very similarly every day) and decide what I should cut back on the next day.

In my opinion, if it is just your stomach getting bigger and no other part of your body and you are active and eating relatively healthily you may want to go see your doctor. I don't have any medical training but it could be something more serious to cause an abnormal bulge in your midsection. If the doctor says everything is fine then continue to count calories and maybe try some weight lifting...that totally changed the entire shape of my body! |

I went a few months and due to a stressful work schedule and lack of sleep I forgot to take the pill for about 3 times during a few months. Needless to say, my husband of four months and I found out we were pregnant. I was just starting an amazing job where I would travel around the world and planned on spending lots of time taking my girlfriends and my husband to beautiful locations and dancing the night away. It changed everything. Now I have a beautiful 11 month old baby girl. It took me a little while to get used to the lifestyle change and I experienced feelings of resentment during my pregnancy when I was gaining weight and had to fit my work schedule around my doctors appointments and then finally a new baby's schedule. I'm not going to lie and say it wasn't difficult but I will tell you that you can do it and if this man loves you he will make it work. You will adjust and your life will definitely be different and maybe even better. If I understand this correctly you may not even be pregnant so just calm down and wait a few more weeks before you take a pregnancy test. Then when you find out the results you can start pondering life with a child. |

For whatever reason last night was particularly hard for me and I am slightly concerned about the weigh in on Monday. I was great all day but as soon as afternoon hit I had the munchies and ate a lot of junk I didn't need. I only hope this morning was a little water weight! |

I weigh in every morning because that is what works for me. With the way I eat my weight doesn't tend to fluctuate just because of salt intake and such and I am not overly sensitive about a half pound increase or so. I think twice a week sounds good for you. Maybe even once every three days if that makes you comfortable. I do think the most important issue is to realize that plus or minus a pound or two isn't a big deal. As long as you are experiencing a downward trend then you are doing great! |

| Weight Loss | Counting clothes sizes.... | Nov 09 2009 13:23 (UTC) |

So from what I understand about sizes: Even numbers are ladies's sizes and odd numbers are teen sizes. With that said, if you drop from a 16 to a 12 you have lost two sizes (the 16 and the 14) because the odd numbers are not counted in your size chart. If you go over to the adolescent section you will notice everything is a 7/9/11 etc.
Hope that helps! |

Happy Weigh In Day!!
This morning I was 142.8 down from 145. I think I could only lose that much weight because I finally got strict about my diet after basking in the glory of vegan junk food for the last three months...and we were moving so there was a lot of heavy box lifting and running up and down three flights of stairs. Woo hoo!!
How is everyone else doing?!?!! |

I like to bake sweet potatos with a little olive oil. I don't top them with anything because they are so delicious all by themselves. I have tried honey before and that was pretty tasty...with some cinnamon! |

Interestingly enough, I just read this book that said if you stop spending that extra $5 per day (or about 3.33 in your case) and put it in an interest bearing account over the course of your lifetime you could be a millionaire! ...just a thought... |

You love your sister. Do what is best for her and send her to rehab. While it may really suck her health and well being is way more important. |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Working moms- how do you find the time to workout? | Oct 22 2009 01:03 (UTC) |

I have a ten month old daughter and I am now ten months below my prepregnancy weight and I almost have my six pack back. Anyhow, with a schedule that demanding it seems like you barely have any time for yourself. I schedule at least an hour per day for myself. Even if you can just pencil in a half hour to go on youtube and find a great yoga routine to do every day after the baby goes to sleep...or you can do it with the baby lying on the floor next to you and make faces every time you pass over your baby! My baby loves it (yoga was all I did until about 4 -5 five months after birth) and it gives you muscle tone, relaxation, and time with your baby.
Also, if it's still warm where you live get a nice stroller and take your baby for a walk or get a carrier (like I did) and carry your baby while you walk. It adds weight to your stride and your baby stays close to you for a little extra bonding.
I hope that helps a little bit! Good luck!! |

| Young Calorie Counters | I have suddenly begun gaining weight, and I can't get it off... | Oct 21 2009 12:37 (UTC) |

I would go talk to your OBGYN about your birth control concerns. I had to try four different kinds before I found one that worked with my body. The first I was having my period once every week and a half and the next I didn't have it at all (nothing to complain about but I knew that wasn't supposed to happen). She can switch you to something else and then you can see if that solves your problem. Good luck! |

| Weight Loss | Weight loss and eating carbs at night? | Oct 20 2009 01:42 (UTC) |

I'm going to put my two cents in real quick:
I always tend to gain weight when I eat lots of carbs at night. What I have started to do that seems to be really successful is eat my carbs for lunch and then have a nice salad with protein for dinner. The carbs should get you through your evening workout and a nice big salad should satiate your hunger. Good luck! |

Call me nuts but when my husband stops helping me I stop helping him. I don't cook for him. I don't clean up after him. I leave for hours to do my things and run my errands and I don't give a second thought to him being lonely sitting at home. Keep in mind, before I do this I have already expressed my frustration and why this is going to happen. If he expects anything from me, especially for me to be a happy and loving wife, he has to give back. It's only fair. |

I'm wondering what kind of answer you are looking for. He can't deny that he did it. He probably won't tell you the real reason why. Either way, you have to think about what you are going to do for yourself and your baby now. What is the healthiest and happiest world you can create for your baby to come into? I don't think it is ever healthy to raise a child in a home where there are two parents who don't love each other.
If you are willing to work it out with him then you have to start the healing process now. If not then go ahead and start moving on. Reading his email is the least of your concerns. |

I would say on any given day I am up or down 2 pounds. I just don't sweat it unless I'm up two pounds one week and then a week later I'm up another two and so on. I've talked to some ladies I know and they can go up or down 3 to 4 pounds. Don't sweat the small stuff! |

I used to eat light bread. Now I stick with organic natural bread. But to answer your question: I found Nature's Path Honey Wheat or regular Wheat to be the best. It doesn't fall apart when you try to spread something on it and it has the most consistency. Hope that helps! |

| Weight Loss | Cardio everyday - Hit the "plateau". Any advice? | Sep 17 2009 00:51 (UTC) |

Here is an example of my week of working out (I just had a baby nine months ago and I am fifteen pounds below my prepregnancy weight where I gained 55 pounds): Sunday: 45 minutes spin/45 minutes weights (lifting 10 pound weights with compound movements such as lunges with bicep curls) Monday: 60 minutes yoga Tuesday: 30 minutes treadmill intervals Wednesday: 30 minutes elliptical/45 minutes weights Thursday: relax...maybe go for a light stroll or do some shopping;) Friday: 60 minute spin class/30 minutes weight machines circuit at gym Saturday: relax/watch movies/clean my house!
Hope that helps some. I don't combine my weights with my jogging/spinning/etc...just up the resistance or the incline and that should be fine!
Oh, and tuna is not a sufficient lunch. Maybe add some chickpeas, spinach, tomatoes, avocado, olives and oil and vinegar and have a nice little salad? That sounds super yummy! |

Try doing cardio weight training. If you belong to a gym they probably have some great weight training classes. Every time I have hit a plateau I up my time using light to moderate weights. The results are tremendous. Also, maybe try swimming or spinning or some different type of cardio. Your body is super efficient at adapting. |
