Fitness Love handles and weights Nov 20 2008

What I do is 5-10 minutes in the begining (on illeptical or treafmill) in order to warm up and than I do weights. At the end I do 30-40 minutes elleptical.

There are exercises for love handles, but doing exercises for spots doesn't cause losing fat on these spots.

You need to lose overall weight and this will happen also on your love hadles. Mu advice is to eat healthy and exercise regularly, after 2 weeks you will stat to see the first weight loss results.

I know it is true, because I stoped to weight lift for 6 months and now I start to go to the gym again, and on the 10th workout I reached my previous weights. It is easier to get in shape if you ever exercised.

Weight Loss Stuck at 130 lbs forever! what can I change? Nov 20 2008

Alot of people may not agree with me, but if you are really consuming 1300 calories a day, I think that may be too many.  I was on LA Weight Loss and lost 60 pounds before I got pregnant with my second child.  When I was on their plan and hit 130 pounds, I still wanted to lose more, but seemed to hit a plateau.  So they took a few foods away from me and I think I was eating between 900-1000 calories a day and it worked.  I got down to 117 when I found out I was pregnant.  I am about the same height as you are, so it is possible do to that.  I know people say do not go below 1200 calories, but I live a very sedentary lifestyle.  I have a desk job and go home to take care of my kids and my house and then it is bedtime, so I don't have much time for exercise.  I wanted to go back to LA Weight Loss after my baby was born because I had prepaid for the rest of my weightloss plan, but they had gone out of business.  So I started counting calories myself and when you hit plateaus you may need to reduce your caloric intake.  That worked for me, so it could work for you too.  And yes, drink plenty of water!!

I know what you mean, because I am active and I eat 1200-1500 calories per day and I am 112 lbs, probably if I am not active I would eat around 1000 calories. I found that I don't need much calories to sustain life, but my calories come from very good and healthy food like fish, cheese, milk, eggs, vegies, nuts and probably this makes difference.

Weight Loss More Exercise = More Hunger? Nov 20 2008

Hm, never think about this from this angel. Usually I eat after exercises, because this is the time you don't gain fat but food goes to recover muscles (they need to be fed after workout). Because I eat after exercises I don't feel hungry at all lol

My girlfriends never eat after our exercise class and I always wonder why, but people are different.

So, exercises and than eat, this is the normal process and you will not gain weight.

Weight Loss driving myself CRAZY Nov 20 2008

I think you need deep breath and calm down :) you are doing well, already on the weight you want to be.

I am also on a healthy eating diet, I mean that I eat healthy all the time, around 1500 calories per day, my weight is 112 lbs and I feel good wuth this weight.

On the other hand when I go to a party or a special event I eat what I waant and how much I want, but this happens very rarely.

Probably you need to exercises 3-4 times per week and introduce one more big meal during the day, like some good source of protein - grilled chicken, or fish. Also have more vegetables, salads go together with meat.

Add two times per week legumes and 2 times per week nuts.

But you are doing very well and stop driving crazy yourself :)

Wish you nice body and good sleep :)

Don't pay so close attention to the numbers, they are very close numbers and it really doesn't matter +- 0.4 or 0.8. Enjoy life :)

Your diet is carb heavy and even your lunch of 1 sl. ham/turkey doesn't add much protein. All of your meals should be similar to your dinner - which is perfect.

Your exercise output was probably sufficient initially but your body may have adapted to the needs you have placed upon it. Meaning, it has found a way to burn just enough fuel to move you around at work and during exercise but you have to remember that our bodies want to maintain status quo in terms of fat stores - it likes fat and doesn't want to see it disappear which means you may have to increase your exercise intensity or do more even more of the low intensity exercise you're already doing.

I agree with this opinion and want to add 2 very important tips:

- for dinner don't have carbs like rice, potatoe, bread. Have just very big piece of lean meat plus big fresh salad. You need to increase the amount of meat you eat.

- workout - try to do weight exercises. Muscles burn calories and training muscles speed up metabolism combined with more calories from protein (meat) this is the perfect way to lose the last mile weight.

Wish you luck :)

Unfortunately vegetarian food is mainly carbs :( Tofu is the best vegan food that contain protein, but be careful because it is loaded with lots of fat too, watch for light tofu or low fat. You can cook it on soup, add it to a salad or even baked with vegetables.

Weight Loss Breakfast: Is it really that important? Nov 18 2008

I don't eat breakfast, I just drink coffee and than I have big lunch at 12.00 h. I am thin, 112 lbs, but I think the key is not in the calories eaten in breakfast only, but calories eaten the whole day.

Also it is important to eat carbs in the first half of the day and to have mailny protein in the second half of the day.

I don't think cereal is a good breakfast, it is better to buy plain oat meal instead of any cereal brand (that may have hidden sugars and who knows what else). I like oat meal with yogurt and some raisins - this is a perfect breakfast, because the small amount of raisins will give you instant energy, the yougurt will give you proteins and the oat meal gives you slow energy that will gradually release til the lunch time.

Than for lunch you can have a big steak and a big fresh salad.

For a snack have a fruit - apple or banana.

For dinner have again a big steak with a salad.

This seems to work good for me.
