hi my name is swapna .age 24 weighing 45 kgs height 5.3 ft .does this product help me to gain weight

Are you a male or a female?

If you ask me, try to eat alot, like 6 meals a day with lots of protein and carbs and enough fats (2:2:1 ratio in my opinion).

Eat high calorie food always. If you eat >3000 calories a day, you'll gain weight quickly. Try weight training too, and try to stay away from cardio workouts as much as you can.

If you still want help with the calories, then give this product a try. Remember to drink more than 8 glasses of water EVERYDAY....and don't overdo it. Try one serving a day as this product is packed with sugar.

Hope this help

You might try stronglifts.com or some variation of Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength program.  I haven't read Starting Strength (yet), but it's supposed to be really, really good. Both programs are based around a 3x weekly full body weight routine, and both recommend drinking a gallon or so of milk a day (if you're trying to put on mass in a hurry).

Wonderful! I'll look at that...Thanks for your suggestion!

Alirezan - What are your goals?  If they are performance-oreinted you probably do not need the amount of redundancy in your routine.  If you are an aspiring bodybuilder, that is a different story since each exercise works slightly different portions of each muscle group.

I'm no bodybuilder! I'm a skinny guy who wants to gain abit more muscle and definition! That's all...I'm also naturally skinny (definitely not "chemically enhanced" as some like to call it!). Maybe you guys can suggest what I should remove and what I should include?

Thanks all!

Awful lot of redundancy... four variations of bicep curls? And leg presses and leg extensions after squats?  I doubt you need that much volume.  I would think you'd do better to focus on quality rather than quantity - i.e. put your all into heavier, deeper squats and DLs and ditch the leg machines, do some weighted pull-ups (ok, back and bi's) and cut out some of the bicep curls.

Or you could just try it for a month and see how it goes - that's the best way to find out what kind of results you'll get. :)

What did your 5x5 program look like, by the way?

Thanks for your reply. I guess I'll give it a try for a month to see what kind of results I get...

My 5x5 was abit lighter in terms of "redundancy". Like for chest, I did incline/decline press + fly. For back and legs, did pull down, squat, DL, press. For biceps, did barbell curls, hammer curls and for triceps, I did pushdown + one of these every other week (skull crusher OR rope extention).

Thanks

I used GNC PP Weight Gainer 2200 for a short period of time and I must say it really works, BUT it is PACKED with sugar which is bad news. I stopped taking it now and even then I couldn't take 3 scoops a day. I took one and that was it. well, they called it "scoop", they were more like a "shovel"...I must admit though, that it tasted pretty good compared to the rest of weight gainers.

But I realised, I didn't need 2200 cal extra to go over 3000 cal/day.

With any type of supplements, you need to workout hard, and AND drink lots and lots and again LOTS of water. If you ask me, stick to your high calorie diet and workouts and you'll be just fine.

I don't think starving yourself or calorie deficit would do you any good. This would trigger your body's survival mechanism and you get into lots of trouble with losing weight later on. I think a healthy diet with lots of vegies and water is the best way to go.

Good luck

Crunches and situps are the least effective workouts for stomach ever! You just waste time doing crunches! Abdominal muscles like any other muscle in your body needs to work hard with heavy weights...that's why crunches are so useless...unless you add some weight...like holding a dumbbell or barbell plate.

Best exercices for abs:

Machine Crunch
Captain's chair
Reverse Crunch
Crunch on exercise ball
Plank
Hover

Remember, exercising alone is NOT helpful...You gotta have a very strict diet...that means no sweets, no fatty foods, no junk/fast food,... Also starving yourself is not the answer...You have to have 5-6 meals a day (smaller portitions than usual). Basically you should always be full.

Hope this helps! Good luck

I normally start with 5-10 mins of cardio to get my heart rate up and warm up. Then I stretch and do light lifting to get my muscles warmed up to avoid injuries.

I think rumiana is right. You need to lose overall weight. Do more compound workouts (deadlifts, presses, dip, ...) and lots of cardio. Workout almost an hour every other day and on non-workout days, you can do more cardio.

I don't think there's any good answer to your question. It all depends on your body type and your metabolism. May or may not take longer than 4 months.
