Ask your vet about Rimadyl or Cosequin. Both are pretty expensive but they work. It takes a while for them to show improvement, especially with Cosequin. My wife is a veterinarian and I met her when I used to sell vet drugs about 12 yrs ago. We have a 12 yr old rat terrier on Rimadyl and she is responding very well. Let me know how it goes. Greg |

It's kinda funny. I posted this last week and thought I had a bad week eating and working out and I dropped 3 lbs in one week. The previous week I worked out 5 days and ate better and lost 1 lb....go figure... Thanks to everyone who responded, and for the encouragement!!! |

My reward will be showing off my beach body later this year when my wife and I celebrate our 10 yr anniversary on an island somewhere. Any suggestions of a good place for a mid-forty yr old couple? 37# to go in 7 months... |

I miss chicken wings from Wild Wing Cafe. They have like 30 different flavors. I'm also staying away from pizza. I kinda miss it. Nothing else really. Oops...I forgot chocolate chip cookies.... |

| Weight Loss | no time to exercise | Dec 02 2008 16:26 (UTC) |

To sound like a trainer here, you have to make time to exercise. Even though I am sure you are extremely busy with finals, take 20-30 mins to go on a brisk walk or put your book on the elliptical or treadmill. It will also help you relieve some stress. You make time to eat and sleep so take a few minutes to get in some daily exercise. I have personally used the excuse of not having time to exercise when I have been super busy at work so you just have to do it. Good luck with your exercising and especially your finals!!!! |

| Fitness | Shin pain after running...any advice? | Nov 22 2008 17:47 (UTC) |

Wow...cabaret gave you some really good advice. However, you might also want to check your shoes, more importantly the insoles of your shoes. I too have suffered from full fledged shin splints when I was younger and a physical therapist watched me walk and suggested that I get a running shoe that was good for a slightly pronated foot. I was first told to not run for 6 wks to give the muscle fibers around the shin time to heal. I took off about 4 wks, bought some new shoes and have had only a little soreness in my shins after hard workouts over the last 15 yrs or so. The stretching exercises that cabaret suggested are also very helpful. You may want to take it easy for a couple of weeks. Try swimming if you have to exercise. If you develop true shin splints, you are going to be sidelined for a long time. Just my opinion. Good luck... |
