Weight Loss Losing Inches But Not Pounds Oct 31 2009

I understand, I've lost 13 inches in Oct, and ONE pound.  I MUST learn to pick my battles but I see how discouraging the scale thing is.

I have three dogs, all brought in at different times.  I have two males and a female.  As long as the 'sniff test' is done on neutral ground and they approve of each other you should be OK.  I dont have any experience with JRTS as I have two Border Collies and a Lab X Border Collie.  There are typically less problems with mixed sexs.  Is the male neutered?  If not I would have that done.  I personally will never keep only a single dog.  They are very much pack animals and need canine interaction.  I say go for it but of course, let her decide.  There have been lots of dogs that I wanted, but if the other dog(s) don't like than it's no-go.  (Don't want to set either dog up for failure).

Good luck!!!

I am a firm believe in 'pick your battles' but your husband sounds extraordinarily inconsiderate.  It sounds very much like he has been spoiled by your tolerance/ patience.   At the same time, as brought up by another poster, the consequence of his actions may not even occur to him.  You should talk to him.

Hang in there!

My male border collie lines his toys, treats etc up in a straight line before going to sleep.

My female border collie always has to have the last word.  If we say anything or give a command she makes some noise in response.  a bark, a snort, a howl it's always something.

Our border/lab HAS to be muzzled to go in the back for walks (we live on a produce ranch) because he eats the citrus.  (Did you know it costs 2500 to have a grapefruit removed from an esophagus?)  He used to just play ball with them....until the day he got excited and decided to eat it....   He STILL has not figured out that he 1) cannot pick up fruit with the muzzle on 2) cannot catch a ball with his mouth with the muzzle on..... the grapefruit incident was in may....

I make 'mini pizza' with english muffins, low cal everything and toppings like grilled veggies, turkey pepperoni and the like.  If you shred cheese with the tiny holes, it goes further when melted...IMO

Get a good scale, and beat the hell outta the old one with a sledge hammer....  :)  I've considered this on more than one occasion.  Great job with the 40 lbs, that's AWESOME!!!  There is a possiblity that you have lost fat but gained muscle so your shape hasnt changed that much..?  I've been there, I was in a 16 and no one said anything about my weight loss until I was in a 9.  I asked why, my friends claimed they didnt want to bring attention to the fact that I was fat before.  (Like it was something I hadnt been aware of or something??)  I chalked it up to my friends being too busy/ self absorbed to notice how baggy the ass of my pants had become.  Hang in there :)
