yes, she did try it with pretty good success, her daily headaches have by no means gone, but she is getting migraines less and less frequently. I am very glad the diet made your problem more manageable

not if they contain any alternative sugars such as aspartame etc.

Good idea, but she has had sacro-cranial therapy (like osteopathy) and they found nothing wrong with her bones and posture, though her headaches do get worse if she has to look down for long periods of time i.e. when reading or drawing so she uses a drawing board to put books and paper at a better angle.

I am really looking for advice on what she should avoid in a sugar-free diet... should she be eating fresh fruit? or bread? etc.

her low/zero sugar diet includes cutting out all artificial sweetners, which she occasionally has in products such as light/low sugar yoghurts.

hopefully this diet will help

any idea if any fresh fruit and veg were completely off limits for your friend? Or did she just have to cut out added/refined sugar, i.e. in sauces etc??

Thanks for the advice, my Mum is a bit of a diet junkie so she eats very healthily, she really doesn't have many sauces and fizzy drinks. Her main problem is biscuits, but she also likes nuts and cheese so she can switch. The main concern was with fruit, which she eats a lot of. I just don't know which fruit and veg are the real high in sugar ones.

Like 'liveyourlife' I have very simmilar stats to you, as does my housemate ( I am female he is male) To be honest, it doesn't matter what I eat, I am always 8stone 3 - you might just have to accept that that is your natural body shape and lots of people will envy you for it.

Looking at your diet I would suggest you should eat more vegetables - just eating fats and sugars can make you malnourished, which would keep you very slim.

Are your parents a simmilar shape? Cos if so you're just meant to be skinny - embrace it! Clothes look much better on us than overweight people :)

P.S looking at your picture, I think you look pretty fine ;)

I have been tested for diabetes in the past (because I get quite severe mouth ulcers, which can be a sign) and both times I was negative. I am also not aneamic, I have had that test too - the symptoms I was displaying that time turned out to be my wheat allergy. I have got a doctors appointment re my perenial rhinitis next week so I will mention this.

Thanks everyone for your helpful replys and concern

Eating ALOT... lol

but I am usually still hungry, have just had a whole plate of curry and rice and my stomache says it's not full. I am wheat intolerant (a recent occurence, which is getting less and less of a problem, will probably be able to eat it again soon) I used to go for toast when I was feeling strange but now its oatcakes, bananas or cornflakes.

Other aditional 'symptoms' I have noticed are:

Feeling 'stupid' if i am studying I just cant process the information

Long distance sight goes fuzzy - I find myself constantly pushing my glasses up or cleaning them cos I think they are the problem

Inability to concentrate and get things in order

Loss of ability to multi-task
