Health & Support EXTREMELY cold hands and feet? Oct 06 2009

Aside from clutching mugs of tea like it's going out of style? I use those heat pad things, all the time! I got some neat ones that you shake to activate, they get really hot and stay warm for hours. Those ones you boil and then click the disk are cool too, and reuseable. I put them in fingerless gloves when I have to work outside for a long time, or a pocket. They can get Very hot though, so be careful. Feet are trickier though, heat packs in a shoe? Burnt toes all round. I hear there are ones specially made for gloves and shoes from camping places, that dont get hot enough to burn, but I'v never seen them firsthand. Good luck on your heat seeking quest, maybe some other people have more ideas!

I have had a similar problem for years too. Gloves dont work, as there is no heat there to keep in! I went to the doc about it years ago, said it was 'like' Raynaud's disease, but that there was no underlying cause or anything wrong apart from that, so not to worry. Maybe check that out and see if the symptoms match? Or, go to the Doc's yourself, as there could be low blood pressure problems or something more serious causing it, best to be safe right?

I think I have something slightly different at any rate, I get icey hands and feet, and cold arms and legs, until the point where my whole skin is ice cold and I'm shivering even in the sun. My mates say I am a zombie :S Maybe I should go back too...

MGMT, Daft Punk, Pendulum, or instrumental film scores, unless I have to force myself to go running, in which case at the suggestion of my mate I put some Rammstein on *dont laugh* It really does help you run crazy/angry fast! I'm all like, "Grr! I dont know what they are singing about but I HATE running!" Yell *is belting it down the street*

Awww, seems I'm back up about a pound. 78kg, thats the opposite of help!  Although, it was my own fault entirely, almost no sleep, caffeine drinks, xmas and birthday shindigs. ¬ ¬

Ah well, excuses don't help. Will just have to do more exercise from now on. Good luck for everyone else though! Be strong in the face of fancy dress partys!

Alright alright, I'll try and cut down. Scary facts that look like something from a 80's action film have persuaded me.... Well, a little.  Man, I hate water, tastes like chlorine here ¬ ¬ I aint drinking non of that. I'll have to work something out.

Thanks for the scary info, true or not, tis something to bear in mind. Curse the human body for needing water to be alive. *shakes fist*

Ok, of to a bad start, missing a training session today which would have burnt about 1200 cal (or so CC says) But I have a cold, I blame the weather, not my overall lazyness and dislike of pain. I'll make up for it! Somehow...

May I join? I too am new here, and wish to be 15ish pounds less heavy by Feb, or at least, by the end of Feb. I'm new to the whole dieting thing, so actually having and keeping to a goal could prove, challenging.

Thanks everyone, especially Lalabanana for all that info and the links. That's a fair shocking difference in calories, oops. All the BMI/calorie calculators I've been looking at are way under that, even taking my age into account. No wonder I've been feeling under 100%. ^_^'

Alright, gonna start eating a lot more, plan it out so I won't get hungry later on, drink water, and find out some things about blood sugar. And if I don't feel alright in a day or so I'll go bother the Doc.

Thank you again, you have been most helpful.

I'm 19, was on that until about a year back, 9 months instead for the normal 6, only side effect was super, super dry lips. It's defiantly worth getting a good lip moisturiser balm, or else, much pain :( Blistex was also the only one I found that worked at all. No other side effects, to my knowledge. None of the depression/mood swings anyway, and none of the monthly blood tests showed anything abnormal.

Stayed away from alcohol when I was on it, not sure if you need to or not, but since I don't really drink anyway didn't really matter. Also it's worth staying out of bright sun as I burnt fair bad the few times I risked it. And yeah, as Tetra said, you might take longer to heal from cuts and stuff, hadn't occurred to me at the time, now I think about it it's true.

Anyway, good luck, and no worries! Tis ace having clear skin, well worth 6 months of it :)
