Hi! Make sure you're drinking plenty of water....just remember when you're excercising your body needs more fluids. Also...without knowing your stats (height, weight, etc) and how much you're eating (calories), when you will see results. In order to see results (on the scale), you'll want to have a calorie deficit of 500-1000 calories a day (so, expending more than you're eating!). I'm sure you've read this before...but just in case. Anyway....exercise is always good for the the body, so no matter what you're doing good things for yourself. BUt if you have the time, definitely up the exercise! Good luck...you're doing great! |

a lot of what you're seeing as gain is likely water and salt, so up the water intake the next few days and you'll probably see a bit of a drop. Other than that I would just say...pick up where you left off. We all have our moments, but if we don't start again with the right attitude, it will never happen! Sounds like you were doing great before...so just pick up where you left off! You're going to do great! |

Thanks so much for all of your responses!!! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one and hope you all remember that you're not alone either. We all fall off the wagon from time to time and it's about picking ourselves up, dusting off, and doing it again (hopefully for good this time around). So far, I've been "good" for 3 days straight. Did a workout video in the morning, walked over a mile each way to and from work, and eaten between 1250 and 1350 calories each day. Having some fun cooking and already feel better just knowing that I'm not eating out of depressing, boredom, etc, etc. Here's to another good day! |

I'm starting a new job on June 1...and would really LOVE to be back in the 130's. I set my goal for that day at 139.5 (just over 1.5 pounds per week). Got a great workout in today, so at least things are moving in the right direction! 8.5 pounds to go for the first goal (though 10 would be even better!) |

This is a great idea! I was setting weekly goals for myself (calories, excerise, etc) and putting money in an envelope for when I reached my long term goal...but I keep not getting there I'm going to have to think of some rewards. I would love to see what other people reward themselves with!

| Weight Loss | Restarting... | Jan 03 2009 15:10 (UTC) |

Hi Dannie, With your calorie intake set at 1500 you will lose about a pound a week (without exercise). If you're trying to get to 150 during February, you'll want to up the exercise (and/or lower the calories...no less than 1200) to give yourself a 1,000 calorie deficit to help you lose 2 pounds a week. We're going to Cancun in mid-feb and I'm trying to lose 10-12 pounds in the next 6 weeks..so I totally understand where you are coming from! Good luck! |

I can second Slim in 6. I love the video (I'm not always great at keeping with it, but I really like it). In general, I would say find one that you think is fun that fits into your schedule well. They all work if you stick with them!!!!! Good luck! Oh..Windsor pilates is great too! |

| Fitness | Snacking at Work | Dec 02 2008 21:54 (UTC) |

Gum, water (or tea) and sugar free hard candy. I too want to snack ALL the time at work. I can't always control it, but I noticed that when I'm drinking a lot of water or tea I'm getting up from my desk more often which helps eliminate some of the need for snacking. Hard candy and gum help me too. I think my mouth just wants to be busy. I also try to eat smaller meals so I can eat more often while at work. I can't say that I don't still want to snack, but at least it's getting better. |

| Weight Loss | Please shed some light, I've tried everything I know. Prune juice? | Dec 02 2008 16:52 (UTC) |

Hi Maiden, I'm so sorry to hear of your discomfort!!! I truly don't know anything about prune juice or prunes, however, my bf and I get plenty of fiber and when one of us gets constipated we eat a High Fiber Breakfast Bar from Quaker. The high fibrer variety comes in Maple Brown Sugar. It has 10 grams of fibre and always done the trick (sometimes a little too well). The actual name is: Oatmeal To Go - High Fiber I hope this helps. Another thing to try, if you live near a trader joes, are the fiber muffins. There are these little fiber circles (smaller than a muffin, only 80 calories) and they have 13 grams of fiber. Good luck! |
