Motivation 100 to lose club.. what's up? Jun 04 2006

1.  how are you doing?

Doing alright. I have 88 pounds left to lose, started out with 120. Started out wearing a size 22 jeans and I can now wear a size 16!
2.  have you lost? if so, how much?

I have lost 32 pounds.
3.  are you working on your emotional self? if so, is it helping? if not, why not?

Definitely! And, yes it is helping.
4.  what are you doing, exercise wise, that is new?  if you're not exercising, why not? (and that's not being judgemental!)

I love exercising and even though I am here on vacation I joined my mom's gym and started swimming.
5.  how many compliments have you gotten regarding your weight loss?

I have gotten most of them family! When my mom and sis saw me at the airport that is one of the first things they said. My brother also noticed when he saw me.
6.  do you feel better and healthier?

Yes and Yes!
7.  what's your favorite new healthy recipe?

Don't have one...I love so many of them.
8.  what's the 1 food you still have that makes you feel indulgent but still within your calorie range for the day?

Hmm...tough one. I have a pudding almost every day or a ricekrispie treat with a cup of organic skim milk. The ricekrispies are only 90 calories per serving. Yum.
9.  have you made sure to track your intake needs as you are losing weight?  i.e. making sure you keep lowering your calories according to the tools (because when you lose weight you need fewer calories)

No, that hasn't really been an issue yet. Eating part is pretty easy.
10.  have you had to deal with a plateau yet?  what have you done (are you doing) to end it?
Heck yes!!!! Well, I find that there isn't much I can do to get rid of them. I just continue challenging myself and when it wants to come off it will. I have stopped stressing so much about the ups and downs. My weight loss has slowed down remarkably. I just take it in stride. I know I am doing well by how many inches I am losing and the size of clothes I am wearing. I haven't worn a size 16 in at least 2 or 3 years.

If you are not under a doctor's supervision, they can also mess up your metabolism in the future.

I say have a slice of pizza. One slice of cheese pizza only has about 250 calories. Enjoy your salad, enjoy your slice and the company. I don't think it's at all condusive to deprive yourself all the time.

This past weekend I was at two parties that included lots of goodies. For the first time in a loooooooooong time I was able to enjoy the company more instead of ignoring them and heading towards the food. I did have what I want...but in moderation. There were like 10 candy bowls...I decided not to have any because I wanted a slice of birthday cake. About skinny people...I think of my sister and other skinny people...I don't think they give food the same value as obese or overweight people do. Sure it's tastey good, and  lovely, but they can have fun and celebrate with other things.

I remember at one point I was thinking about getting seconds because the potatoe salad was soooooooo good, and they 3 or 4 different freshed baked rolls (some with the butter and garlic baked within) and I had to stop myself. I had to have a clear dialogue with myself and clarify the differnce between wanting and needing the extra serving. I slowly sipped my water and waited...after 10 minutes the "want" was gone. Sure I had moments when I wanted just another bite...or just another taste...but that is to be expected.

I just started taking a protein shake this past Saturday. I usually drink it when I wake up. I mix it with about 1 cup of skim milk and just shake it. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be...so it's not going to be wasted like many of things I have tried but hated. I really like it because of the other vitamines that may or may not get during the day. I just feel more secure drinking it than not.

She probably didn't mean for it to be offensive. But I do have one thing to say. What is up with the casual use of Nazi? Nazis attempted to annihilate a whole group of people because they didn't comply to their meaning of perfection. I just thought I should put that in. I am sure that there are better words to describe our quarks with other words besides "nazi". Just my two cents or two örar.

You can have the salad...but not the dressing. A salad without the dressing and cheese (chicken fillet) is under 200 calories. Oh, that's not including the croutons. They have lowfat calorie dressings you can choose from. Drink plenty of water (avoid drinking your calories through sodas and sweetened water with food dye).

Personally I can't stand the texture of the flax seeds. I tried putting in my yogurt, I almost gagged...tried in a shake...ewww. It is just so gritty even after grinding it. I am looking for something else to do with...like bake or something. I don't mind it on bread (I have seen it sprinkled on bread like sesame seeds).
