YES dairy was definitely contributing to my acne! I cut it out (except for the occasional piece of cheese ;) mmm) and I rarely, if ever, have breakouts now. I doubt milk was the only cause of my acne, but it was definitely a contributing factor. And it's no wonder -- some of the growth hormones that are fed to cows are passed directly into the milk.

Kate Bosworth used to have SUCH a nice body! She looked so fit in her Blue Crush days. Then she sadly dieted it all away.. now she looks so skinny it's scary! So unfortunate. |

| Foods | Lactose Free Milk | Dec 31 2008 19:14 (UTC) |

Here's why lactose free milk is sweeter than regular, yet both have the same amount of calories. Lactose in milk is a disaccharide sugar -- two sugar units linked together. A lot of people don't have the enzyme able to break this disaccharide down into usable monosaccharide sugar units -- aka glucose (and galactose, another type of sugar unit). So what companies do is they break down the lactose in the milk before you drink it. Glucose and galactose both taste sweeter to us than lactose. So even though lactose milk may taste sweeter than normal, they both have the same amount of actual sugar in them, and hence the same number of calories. You mention that there are more grams of sugar in your lactose free milk. They should be approximately the same when comparing to regular milk -- this could be due to differences in the brand of milk you're drinking.

lol jblarg! Let's not exclude people who do want some muscle but don't want to look extremely 'jacked'! There's nothing wrong with wanting that... everyone has there own preferences in terms of how they want to look. As long as everyone is promoting a healthy lifestyle, whether that's with more or less muscle, what's the problem? Let's not start a big fight in this thread lol. Anywho... I definitely agree that too many women shy away from building muscle, when in fact building some will help you lose weight even faster and improve your overall body shape. Plus, it just feels good to be strong :) |

I used to LOVE microwave popcorn... until i discovered that the artificial butter flavouring chemical caused this crazy lung hardening disease called 'popcorn lung' in plant workers and also in this guy who would eat two bags a day... apparently it causes lung hardening! EW. now i'm sure it's not going to kill me if i eat a bag once in a while... but I can't bring myself to do it anymore.. eughhh. i'll stick to homemade now! |
