I agree with all the bad manner examples given so far, and I'll give you a few more that I despise... Drivers who think 'merge' means get in front of as many cars as possible.. Pedestrians who will not move aside - if you don't move - you get hit, especially in shopping malls.. People who jump queues or push in.. Shopkeepers who don't say thankyou after your purchase.. I better stop now - I'm getting annoyed!!

It was 38'c in sunny Perth Australia today - I know it's your winter but really, I couldn't live in that weather! Winter here is around 15-20'c everyday

I thought you were looking for something more modern from your OP, however, if you are looking for classic Sci-Fi, then as others have mentioned, Isaac Asimov is a must - especially the Robots and Foundation series, Arthur C Clarke and Piers Anthony are also worth looking at.
Some classic Fantasy would be Stephen Donaldson, David Eddings or DragonLance (can't remember if this is part of the Forgotten Realms??) |

I am currently reading the Ian Irvine series "The Three Worlds Cycle". I have over 1000 fantasy and sci-fi books and these rate right up there! |
