Hi, I have not posted on this site fora long time, although I follow almost every day in the gainer's forum. I fee like such a terrible freak, I hear of all you teens who maintain or gain on under 1500, and working out, I don't undersrtand why I'm so crazy. Sorry-that was not to be rude or a rant:) Here's my info

I'm 5'7"

LW: 79

CW:91

Short-term goal:100

Eventual: 110 (my family &doctors have agreed on this, it's where I was before ED, I have a very small frame).

I don't exercise at ALL, though I love to. Horse riding is my life,and i havent beent able to pursue it due to being underweight. I maintain on about 2500 and am taking in 3000 a day just to gain. WHY?!?!?!?! It's such a struggle, it gets very tiring after a while to have to eat so much (but it DEFINATLY has advantages:))

I KNOW!!! I always feel like I must deserve to be in a mental institution for multiple personality disorder or something-I have two toatlly different midsets inside my head, it's awful and confusing. I can see myself in the mirror after a shower, and be disgusted by how thin I am, then just a mere half an hour later, see nothing but a fat girl. Don't misunderstand, in my right mind, i'm definatly gaining, and I WANT that, if not for vanity, than for my health an well-being. I just get conflicting thoughts. One moment, I will want nothing more tahn to gain, look healthy, life a normal life, and be happy. Others, I am DESPERATE to stay so thin, if not even thinner because if nothing else, it sets me apart.

It kills me, how people think it's ok to just talk about your weight if you are thin. I get both positive and negative thingsfrom people about my weight all the time. I love getting the comments and questions from people asking "are you a model, you're so skinny and tall?!?!" it makes me second geuss myself, if i truly want to gain. sadly though, I get disgusted or negative looks and comments about my weight or what i eat, etc. I let it all affect me WAY to much, and i'm working on reminding myself taht those people really are just naive and it doesnt even matter what they think.....as much as i want to change my line of thinking, I'll be the first to admit that its a hard thing to do. People are cruel, sometimes without meaning to be so, other times-they know. I'll never forget, a copule months ago, I was carrying two plates of cheesecake (I was waitressing BTW) and a man walked by me and said "Girl, you're gonna get fat" as he walked by. I BALLED for an hour after that-i feel pretty silly admitting that now, but it just goes to show the power of words.

Hello from the beyond ladies!!!!!!! I don't know if any of you remember me, I've been an absantee for quite a while now. To be honest with you, the itme since then has been the hardest/most tumultuous/best/most amazing time of my life. Previously, i was trying to go.............sort of. I was on board, but only to please my parents, please others, etc. etc. The point is that I, KAITLYN, was not ready to put the weight back on. Looong story since then (I'll see about writingf a journal), but basically, I am here and I'm in 100% for MYSELF. Support is helpful, yes, but I've decided this is something I need to do for me, be there other people around me forcing me, or if I am alone.

     I may have been away, but I have read your posts nearly EVERY day since, and I can't say how pround and excited I am for everyone, glad to have "met" the newer members, and glad to have seen some of the older ones be able to move on-it gives me hope.

     I see that this is going to strictly be the "food" forum area, so after this post, I'll keep it out, just needed to say hello again.

I'm on at least 3000 cals a day, but I try to go over. I was TERRIBLY sick the past two weeks, and dropped about 10 lbs(mostly water), so I need to get it all back.

So glad to see you all, I would be honered to be a part of this community again. I've bid ED farwell, but I still need to walk on the path the health.

Cole-Don't be discouraged!!:)It's possible!!! A busy schedule makes it hard though, I work both as a nanny and a Veterinary Assistant, and go to college full time, it makes eating hard. The biggesyt thing is to make eating a priority. You have to do it, comfortable or not. Trying to avoid high volume, or "bloating" foods help a lot. Also, spreading your cals all throughout the day. For me, since my schedule is so sporaddic, it means eating ANYTIME I can, not just "normal" eating times. I typically end up nibbling all day long to fulfill my plan. Having a PLAN, pre-packing lots of food (I can't afford to buy it all) is good. Also, once you start eating more, your body gets used to it and it's much esier.

OMG, I couldn't LIVE without it!!!! I can't have all the sugar packed in regular ice cream, but it definatly is my ULTIMATE favorite dessert. Where i live, it's called Dreyers, but I'm pretty positive it's the same thing. The texture is exactly the same, and it's SOOO much better tasting to me. i recently had a couple bites of full sugar ice cream and hated it, was tasted disgusting to me. The fat content is not any lower than regular, but its much lower cal-the mocha (the best tasting in my opinion) is only 90 cals per serving!!! you can have two servings for the calorie content of one serving of regular!! i love the mint and the pecan oh-and the the cookie dough too!!! try it!!

Ok, so I havent posted here in forever, so i don't really know if anyone actually remembers me or not, but here's a post regardless:)It sounds like you're all doing very well. do most of you go to college? I thought most of you were high school-ish age, since thise is the "teens" forum. not that is matters........im 17, but ive been going to comm. colege for a little over a year now. life does get crazy with it, but you need to take your health as most important. i have to remind myself of that, take care of yourself first ladies!!:D:D:D

so, reveiw of stats.......weight gain plan of 3000

L-12 peice brown rice sushi, diet mountain dew

S-chai tea(i was at a conference today, so my schedule's been a little wacky)

D- 2 c 100% grape peach juice, pumpkin bran muffin, 1 c bear creek navy bean soup

S-pear, pumpkin bran muffin

11:00ish-oatmeal, rasins, peanut pure protein bar, 1.5 c no sugar added mint ice cream

ok- so that blob has a name.............its called a stomach:) seriously, the size of your stmach has everything to do with what/how much you've eaten and have drank. notice............if you have something to bloat you, like lots of fruit or diet soda, yor gut wll be much bigger.

trust me on this one! im the queen of bloated stomachs! im terribly thin, i look skeletal (on a mass gain diet, no worries) but my stomach is HUGE! i cant even wear oants because by the time i get them to fit around my waist, you wouldnt even be able to find legs and a butt if you tried.

the way to downsize though would be to work on toning, you dont need to loose weight!! in fact, if you were to tone and gain some hot muscle mass, youd weigh more, but LOOK smaller!! also, i try to avoid foods that bloat, starches, too much fiber, eccess liquids, etc.

most of all.........just dont worry too much about it!!!

My stats:

17 years old, recovering from an ED:)

Height: 5'7"

LW:about 78-79 lbs

CW:98lbs!!!

GW: first goal is 110, ill take it from there:)

My intake currently is almost 4k. (it looks better than writing out 4000). ive ALWAYS had a high metabolism, and im trying to gain 2 lbs a week, so i eat a ton. ita a mass amount, i know, its not always fun.

B-5 grain cereal, 2 morningstar patties, natural PB, 2 c 2% milk, sugar free  hot cocoa

S-100% grape juice can

L-protien/chocolate/banana naked drink, cheese stick

S-2 peices sourdough rye toast, hummus, sugar free cinnamon dolce latte

D-can of tuna, tons of lettuce, frozen veggies, pumpkin muffin, 2 c pomegranite juice

S-2 c kashi go lean, 2 c milk, peanut butter south beach bar, a few cups of frozen mixed tropical fruit(YUM), apple, lg banana

ok- i SWEAR I'll be better at posting. I read your posts every day, they always encourage me, rmind me that others are out there working towards better health too. It means the world to me, thanks so much. So, even when I dont have time to post, i'm still reading (i read your posts in the morning usually as im eating breakfast, lol)

aigirl-thanks so much for the comment, that was great:)I was so conflicted, so happy/terrified all wrapped up in one. my dad was super proud-he said so, and i cant recall a time hes EVER said that to me. by the way, dont scare me like that!! the start of your post was freakish!!! no seriously, i truly am sorry for being so harsh earlier, im really not a mean person.

tea-your meal plans always sound so good!!! i have some white choc PB too, ans LOVE it on apples!!

ok, so today was something different.........i made a "cooking light" recipe of chocolate bundt cake. It was super healthy, low fat and sugar, but i still have an issue with eating cake, but i decided i was going to have some darn cake after making it, so i did! and..................it was terrible. hahaha, im such a bad baker, i think i really messed something up. i mean, i tasted fine, but the texture was like an old brownie...........yuck.

B-5 grain cereal, toast w/ PB, 2 c 2% milk w/ sugar free hot cocoa

S-can of 100% grape juice, 1 oz mixed nuts

L-1 c chicken rice soup, 2 peices dark rye toast, hummus

HI EVERYONE!! I'm sooo sorry i've been gone so long, college life is back in swing-but i'm back, I swear. :)

Anyways, still eating like a pig, but quite liking it at times, heheh. PLUS, I gained about 3.6 pounds last week. IN ONE WEEK! It was the most I've gained since..........ever. It's SUPER exciting, but really intimidating too.

seriously-addy-there really is no point in posting here, you're not impressing anyone. you may as well be saying you're injecting yourself wih heroin in order to get attention and be put in a hospital. harsh i know-but that's the reality here.

anywayyyyyyyyyyyys-here's my meal plan from yeterday

B-5 grain cereal, no sugar added hot cocoa w/2 cups milk, rasins, 2 tbsp natural PB

S-2 morningstar patties

L-6 in subway sub w/ham, tons of veggies, olive oil, and pepperjack

S-skinny starbucks latte, 1 0z. nuts, juice, cheese stick

D- large steak burrito, (make your own at a friend's house)

S-oatmeal, 2 c milk w/sugar free hot cocoa, south beach bar, large apple

Ok, so maybe i'm freakishly crazy, but I'm on a 4k diet too, but I don't have as few things as you do. I don't like feeling stuffed all the time, but i DO enjoy having a large variety of different things in my diet, so i tend to have a little bit of a LOT of different things, rather than mixing so much together. Here's a day in my life (today actually)

B- 1/4 c dry 5-grain cereal, cooked in water, 2 morningstar "sausage" patties, 2 Tbsp natural peanut butter (yes, by itself:)), 1 box rasins

610 cals

S-2 cups 2& milk w/coffee and pack of sugar free hot cocoa

320 cals

L- 6 in. Subway ham on wheat w/tons of veggies, pepperjack cheese, and olive oil, 1 homeade blueberry bran muffin

680 cals

S-1 oz mixed nuts, can 100% treetop juice, cheese stick, 2& sugar free starbucks latte

740 cals

D-(at a friend's house) "burrito"-large tortilla, lots of steak, lettuce, salsa, and tons of cheese, more cheese on the side

about 780 cals

S-1/2 c dry oats, cooked in water, 2 c 2% milk w/sugar free hot cocoa(its freezing here in the winter), 1 chocolate south beach diet protein bar, 1 large apple

Ok, so I know i didnt post my size before......kinda embarassing when a non-size is too big-BUT!!!! I went shopping last week for the first time in a looooooong time for jeans and i found an ADORABLE pair of jeans....best part?!?!?!they're a size 1!!!! i know that sounds dumb, but that signifies the first NUMBER size ive worn in years! YAY, its great to be something more than nothing.

Ok all, so i hate to bring the mood dowm here, but im REALLY having a hard time.

I had my usual weigh in on friday and i felt like i had gained abot 10 pounds (ok a bit of an exadgeration) from eating over 3500 cals........i had the shock of my life

last friday:95.4

this friday:95.5

i gained hardly a THING! granted, i think some of it was due to the fact that i was severely dehydrated, but STILL!!!!! whats the deal!?!?!?!?!im nearly completely sedentary and im eating until im about to explode! people just think i must be lying and/or vomitting (i never have, nor ever will) but really, is this possible? why arent the numbers skyrocketting? AHHHHH im about ready to loose it here

beanaparker-   thanks for the fage info....thats kind of what i thought it was, i've just never seen or heard of it here before....intersting how foods differ regionally. as far as the 4H thing....yes there is a horse 4H program, but 4H has an extension for any activity you can think of. cooking, sewing, fashion, photography, painting, pigs,cows, cats, gardening, archery...it goes on and on. i personally am in dog 4H and its my life, i love it. I DO ride horses, just not in 4H (too time intensive for me). ill post a pic of my boy, hes an Anglo-shire name Quest:)

tinasaur- i got about 2 feet a couple weeks ago, and it stuck FOREVER i like it for the first day or so...then start to hate it, people just dont know how to handle it here....its too mountainous to be safe on the road. have a blast sledding!!

aigirl- your diet looks so similar to somthing i would have, its creepy! i know what you mean, i dont like using too much artificial sweetners, but sugar makes me ill, so i try to avoid it when possible....everything in moderation.

food today:

B- banana oat muffin, PB, lower sugar brown sugar oatmeal

S- ensure heated w/coffee

L-minestrone soup, 2 peices dark rye bread w/hummus, hard boiled egg

s- venti 2% sugar free starbucks latte, chocolate dipped cookie, homade roll

d- turkey lean cuisine meal (AWESOME!), 2 c 2% milk, peice of toast w/humus(i like it a lot) no sugar added hot cocoa w/ 1 c 2% milk

s-1 oz mixed nuts, 100% grape juice

s-1.5 c kashi go lean (ok-so ive never had this, ive heard of many people liking it and it was on sale at the store....i had no idea how protein packed it was!!!! i just finished it and....good heavens, it is INCREDIBLE, im going to buy more!) 1 c 2% milk, pumpkin bran muffin, box of rasins, apple, cinna rasin south beach bar

ok, so i feel like this is a STUPID question but..................what is fage? i see that a lot of people have it, is it late yogurt or something?

ok.....so, its seems impossible but..................im upping the cals again today. had weigh day and an appt. with my doctor and i DIDNT loose (HUGE YAY!!) but i didnt really gain anything to speak of. it seems physically impossible with the insane ammount im consuming. i feel like an endless garbage disposal. anywayz....................thats how it goes i guess..............im sort of in a food daze right now.

B-10 grain hot cereal, pumpkin bran muffin, natural PB

S-ensure heated up w.coffee

L-brown rice california roll from trader joes (my favorite!), box of rasins

S-pumpkin oat muffin, peanut butter south beach bar, pack of nuts w/cranberries, 2 c. blueberry pom. juice, no sugar added hot chocolate w/.75 c reduced fat milk

(ok, so i know that lunch was small, and my "snack" was MASSIVE, but my schedule was thrown off today)

Hi, so sorry for not posting in a while....life's been a little crazy lately. I'm sorry if I came across as offensive or rude to anyone, I realized my posts sounded a bit snooty, I'm sorry!!!:)

simone-again, so sorry if i seemed rude at all. you seem like you've got a pretty good handle on things, I know all our bodies are different, I just want to make sure you're taking care of yourself!!!:)

mashed-yes, I was posting on the gaining forum......in all honesty, I just didn't feel like i really fit there, but I follow your posts EVERY day and it helps me hold on-knowing you all are out there fighting in exactly the same way I am, that I'm NOT crazy and I'm NOT alone. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE keep up the fight!! I know you're fighting right now, but you know.......two pounds A WEEK, that's the ultimate goal. It's crazy hard, I know........my mom made me up the cals last week after i gained 1.5 pounds over a week!!! Its frikkin hard, but i ready to be DONE with this.....I eat a little over 3500 every day, you CAN up it, and you have to to get through this hun!!

lafoutloud-i must say...........can i come to your house and eat with you?!?!?! all your food choices are DIVINE, and all my fav things i would pick! haha, seriously, fish, sweet potatoes, boca burgers, and asparagus are all my FAVORITE things!!

out of curiosity, how exactly how many of you are vegan/vegetarian?

L-1 c beef barley soup, whole wheat flatout tortilla w/1/2 c fat free cheddar (toasted w/ mushrooms and lettuce!! YUM), pumpkin oat muffin

S-cashew, almond, cranberry mix, ecuadorian dark chocolate

d-instant brown rice, grilled chicken breast, green beans, 2 c 100% apple juice, lg banana

at AWANA-mint oreos

s-2 c cheerios, 2 c reduced fat milk, apple, smores pure protein bar, 1 c frozen blueberris and 1 c lowfat plain yogurt

ichi-i sent you a PM, I canreally relate with you on the disproportianate stomach, it makes trying to gain SOO much harder! hang in there!

simeon-why are you trying to loose weight? according to your BMI, you are ALREADY underweight, with a BMI of 19.1. I'm not trying to tear you down, or be harsh here, but even if you WERE trying to loose, it doesnt look like you're eating enough. How many calories are you getting in a day? it doesnt seem like you can be much over 1200.

it seems as though Im the only one here on a gain diet, but what they hey......ill throw a little diversity in there hehehe. even still you guys help give me some good ideas, even though i need to eat a lot MORE-just like all of you, i need to feed my body WELL. today was hard though....i started college again, and im at a point now where i dont really feel "anorexic" or like i really am needing to gain that badly, so its hard to stay motivated to do it. i know i want to gain some more weight.............but ahhhhhhhh my feelings get so mixed. my body is changing......it thrills me and scares the CRUD out of me all at the same time.

moving on to food today............................

B- 1/3 c museli, 2 morningstar patties, 2 Tbsp PB (yes i eat it by itself heh), no sugar added hot choc made w/water

oops!no snack

L-(had to make up for snack)1.5 c healthy choice minestrone, 2 peices sourdough rye toast w/2 Tbsp. hummus, pumpkin bran muffin, 1 c. apple juice, ensure (heated w/added coffee made it SLIGHTLY more tolerable)

went to go visit the horses-no snack.....again

D-(REALLY early because of school, I now sort of combine my snack w/dinner)1 whole wheat flatout tortilla w/mushrooms, lettuce, whole can of tuna, banana oat muffin, 3/4 c canned pumpkin w/splenda, 1 c reduced fat milk, cinnamon rasin south beach bar

at school(about 7)-PB sammy, can of 100% berry juice

S(11)-1 c reduced fat milk, 1/2 c cooked oatmeal w/ box of rasins, apple, banana, 1 c. lowfat plain yogurt w/splenda, double chocolate pure protein bar!!!!

oho-your food all seems so great, but maybe you could try mixing things up a bit? it's MUCH more interesting and your body needs a wide variety of foods hun! out of curiosity, what kind of protein shakes do you buy? do you make your own, or are they premade?

ichi-DONT think of a 1000 cal dinner as bad!!! you need it, and if you enjoyed it, you have nothing to regret!! your meal planning is a wonderful idea, and im sure it does help, but you have to be ok with deviating from the "plan".

laren-i love kashi, and sweet potatoes are boss!! good job today, it seems like you chose a lot of yummy things.

food today(again it was an UNREAL amount):

b-1/2 c museli, PB, 2 morningstar patties, sugar free hot cocoa mix.

s-ensure w/coffee, cashew/almond/cranberry mix

l-1.5 c healthy choice minestrone soup, 2 peices sourdough rye toast, 2 tbsp hummus, 1/2 c canned pumpkin(w/splenda YUM-O!!), homeade pumpkin muffin

s-(i had a sudden change of plans due to some........unexpected STUPID SNOW! kinda messed my snack up)1 pack reduced sugar maple oatmeal

d-chicken breast, 1 serv. instant brown rice w/mushrooms, 2 c apple juice, homeade pumpkin muffin

s-2 c reduced fat milk, 2 c cheerios, apple, white choc. PB, smores pure protein bar(if youve never had one, youve never experienced heaven)

still a tad short, i now have a box of rasins...............dont much care for them though.......i like fresh fruit over dired i guess. eh, who caresCool

Mashed-thank you so much for your encouragement. I read the posts from both this thread as well as the weight gainer forum consistantly, even if I may not post. It became kind of hard to relate on the gainer forum, but your postings are still incredible to me. Thank you so much. You were right, I was letting ED get to me, and I've had a different perspective today:)ED can kiss my skinny butt.

Tea-your food all sounds so lovely. I've never heard of or had almond milk, is it good? Rice and beans (especially wild rice w/kidney beans!) has been my FAV ever dish ever since I spent time in the dominican republic.

ichi-what are your healthy sloppy joes like exactly? sounds yummy. dont you even DARE let`ED get to you again, i know your stronger than he is!!! im on that much too, so i feel you, its not easy by any means. i spend a lot of time feeling bloated-but it goes away. keep going!!

darkest-are you eating enough through the day? your food looks good, but msybe a little light....?

anyways, good news to share!! yesterday, i was feeling really down about my size(feeling fat, etc.) and then had to go shopping to see if i could come up with some pants i could wear (i havent bought any pants in AGES< i cant find any that i can fill hehe)But yesterday, I DID find some!!! in fact, i bought a pair from american eagle, i love the store but havent been able to fit into any of their smallest sizes in years-but these fit! the other pair was a size 1!! I know, it's small, but it's a number!! an actual number! that was very encouraging to me, a little intimidating and ED was FREAKING OUT!!!!!but it was great:Di'm liking this new healthier, bigger me.

food today:

B-organic 5 grain hot cereal, whole wheat english muffin, 2 Tbsp PB

(missed snack, had to eat early lunch around 11)

L-homeade pumpkin bran muffin, 1 c reduced fat milk, 3/4 c canned pumpkin (my favorite!), 2 peices sourdough rye, turkey keilbasa

S-TONS of nuts (like 3 servings), chocolate south beach bar, banana

D-chicken tetrazini, green beans, banana oat muffin, ensure

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!! Seriously, I just got finished with my typically massive evening snack, and was just feeling badly about it, wondering if im the only one eating this much at once, this late/if it was bad, etc. then i came across this and it made me feel SO much more at ease to know im not that insane! I have to get in at LEAST 3500 cals a day, wich is so insanly huge, i dont know exactly why i need so much to gain, im really not very active? anyways, i try to get in a lot erlier in the day, but its harder because i dont like eating huge amounts for breakfast and starting the day off feeling bloated and icky.

i really actually ENJOY eating my evening(often later than midnight) snack, and i cant say that much about all the rest of my meals. also, i dont CARE if i go to bed feeling bloated, but i do if i have to walk around all day feeling like ive eaten way too much. my snacks are usually about 800, but are often as high as 12oo when needed.

ive noticed that many of you get your cals in through adding lots of things to cereals,etc. i like to do that occasionally, but personally, i prefer to have a wide variety of foods and enjo them SEPERATLY. so, they may not sound like they "go together" or even appealing together, but if i like it, i eat it:)

example from tonight(started atbout 10)

  • 2 cups of cheerios w/ 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of milk in a glass
  • homeade muffin, warmed in microwave
  • 1 cup yogurt, frozen( i know, its odd in the winter, but i like it to have some texture)
  • 1 box rasins
  • large pear

today was a weigh in.......which is always the most terrible day of the week, i dread it. up or down, it still freaks me out and causes all kinds of new stress in my house. anyways...............ill stop wihinning now and move on lol:)

last friday: 94      today:95.5

one and a half pounds in a week is a flippin ton!!!! im bigger than i have been in about two years, and its encouraging and freaky all at once. my moms still making me up my cals though to get to two pounds in a week..........i dont know if i can take any more weight OR food. regardless...upped my cals today, so heres about what i had today

b-whole wheat english muffin, 2 Tbsp PB, 2 morningstar breakfast patties

snack-pumpkin bran muffin (i have a GREAT recipe if you want it!!)

lunch- one and a half cups cambells healthy choice chicken noodle, whole wheat flatout w/fat free cheddar cheese, tomato and lettuce quesdailla (first in a LONGLONG time), 3 peices ecuadorian dark chocolate

snack-nuts w/cranberries mix, peantur butter SBD bar (YUM!), SF starbucks latte venti

dinner-1.5 c bean soup, 2 peices sourdough rye bread, 2 Tbsp hummus, green beans

I only weigh once a week, every friday morning (no clothes heh) to be exact-not that you needed to know those details:). Here's my stats though

LW:about 80- i never knew EXACTLY how bad i got

CW: as of last friday, 94(highest in about a year and a half!!!!!!)

GW for now: just to get to triple digits first!

honestly, I struggled more with eating today than i have in a LONG time. i feel bloated and fat, even though i know im not. true or not-it makes eating anything, let alone how much i eat seem sickening. ah-i wont rant-moving on.

I wish we had wegmens out here, it seems awesome!! is it just a large grocery store that serves fresh food too? if you dont mind saying, roughly where do you live? I'm in seattle washington, US. im sorry if my posts arent that elaborate or consistant, buti always read your posts, and love reading them-you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO inspirational to me!!moving on to food for today..

Hi, I havent posted in this thread before, so hello all!!!

I'm 17 and go to community college, and am in the process of gaining weight, so beware......I eat a LOT.

Stats: H: 5'7.5" CW:94 LW:80 GW: at least 110-maybe more, but i take it one step at a time....my short term goal is to get in-and STAY in- the triple digits!!!

Food today was TERRIBLE, had "second christmas" with my family today. We had a TERRIBLE storm that kept everyone snowed in, so it got postponed. It wasn't balanced by any means, but i got the cals in i needed-just feel AWFUL now. Ate all the wrong things, off schedule.

B- 5 grain cereal, 1.5 c 100% apple berry juice

Oh my-there are so many of us now, and so many WONDERFUL posts, I feel like i can't keep up:) I'll have to summarize, sorry, I have SO much more i wish i could say to you all.

Mashed-PLEASE just hang in there with your increase. It sucks-I know it does-but you know as well as I do that you can silence ED and that eating more CAN be a lovely thing!I also sympathise with the feeling, I DESPISE feeling full and bloated, my stomach seems so disproportionate from the rest of my body, I feel I can't take it anymore. You know what helps me when I'm feeling like that-when ED is lying so much that the girl in the mirror looks fat, and i feel terrible. I look at a picture of myself when I was happy/healthy and then look at a more recent picture, of my terribly thin self. even ED can't deny that, and it helps snap me out of it. Maybe, trying some different foods will actually help you to eat more. personally (esp. now that it's 20 degress outside!) i love hot cereal in the morning-if you like cold, maybe try Cheerios(low sugar, whole grain)?How about 2% milk?Congrats on the juice!! I LOVE grapefruit, fresh squeezed or otherwise. Just wanted to let you all know i got a HUGE tub of organic origional hummus from Costco the other day and LOVE it, i had no idea how wonderful it truly was-i could eat tons of it and never hear ED say a peep about it!! it's almost like you're living my life hun, my family eats like birds, but then theres me, the human garbage disposal, and it feels terrible. i've learned to communicate with my family more aobut healthy eating. we can all eat healthily, portion sizes will just vary for us all. my brother ate nothing for breakfast, then one peice of bread, two peices of deli meat, and one peice of cheese for lunch, etc.....and it's REALLY hard, but i know that he's not me.

noisebox-you've probably had chickpeas and not even known it. they also go by garbanzo beans, often in chilli....anyways, hummus is a mediteranian/indian food i think, and is WONDERFUL!!!! I have it on my favorite dark rye bread, and it will rock your world!!! it's a perfect food, protein, fat....little else but ground chickpeas and spices. it's usually used on top of bread or in pitas. i like to dip veggies in it!!!

lady-i feel for you........i've outright BEGGED my family to give me encouragement, but so often I'm given nothing, or even put down. the only comments i get about the foods i choose, are that it's not enough, or that i could be doing more, that i dont really care still.....i need UPLIFTING encouragement...or i think i do. i then realize that im not doing this for them, and i dont need them to tell me im doing something right, I need to know hat for MYSELF most importantly. YOU GUYS are my encouragement. when i think i cant eat anymore, i read these posts and know that if you can, i need to too- if only to help you out. please remember that you DONT need their approval-its nice, but not needed, you can still do this!!!!

anyways-my day-eating was actually pretty easy today, but everything else was pretty awful. i was LITTERALLY trapped in my house!!! We're snowed in!!!! i live in seattle, wa US, and we have NEVER seen a snow storm like this (in my lifetime). im going insane, ill loose my mind if i cant get my car out tommorow. i take that back-it was awful at first, but i changed that around. i went for a long walk after dark, down the deserted snowy roads, and it was STUNNING. SO beutiful-that was amazing. tommorow morning is my weigh in and im frikkin scared to death-likely wont sleep tonight. i know i gained, but weigh ins are the worst thing in the world to me-it affects EVERYTHING. after a week of eating as much as i have, and not doing much, i gained a lot-we'll find out just how much-ill let you know tommorow night when i know.

Wow.............I can't tell you how much of a surpsisingly incredibw thing this site has been to me, what i would give to have learned of it two years ago-I know I'd be in a different place. You all are SO amazing, supportive, and caring. I can relate to you all in different ways, and it makes all the world of difference to know I am not the only person dealing with this (i often feel I'm the only one on the planet, and it is disgusting to me).

Mashed-congrats!!! that is amazing that you were able to do that at the restaraunt, i can garuntee that your mom noticed and it meant the world to her. I'm right with you on the cold-we had a high of 20 degrees here in Seattle, Wa. BRRR!!!!!!! Also, sweet potatoes are MY new favorite thing on the planet. My parents hate them, so i  never had them until about a month ago, i got a couple and baked them. add a little salt and HELLO HEAVEN! I also have experienced the fear of running out of food. in the first stages of my recovery (as soon as i started eating again) i OBSESSED. i NEEDED my special foods in the house at all times, if i was out, i would loose it. dont get me wrong, i know you're not in that place, im not anymore either, but i AM the typical grocery shopper in our house-so i make sure we are always pretty well stocked:)

Okgo, my dear-you have no idea how much your posts mean to me. I am also a christian, and it adds a whole new dimension to the struggle. i dont know about you, but one of my biggest stuggles and fears was to be realy with people and myself about my problems with food and my weight. my mind told me that christians don't deal with this, and that by telling people that i have this problem and also claim to be a christian, i would be dishonoring His name somehow. i now know HOW UTTERLY WRONG that all is-all that to say, thank you for adding that to your post:):):)God is the only way i am alive today, i know i would be dead long ago otherwise. now its my ob to move on and learn something from all of this mess. all the encouragement you give me is VERY important to me, i hope you know that. yes, i've been told that our metabolisms are all wacked out now. i have been able to gain at 2800 before, but other times, havent been able to at higher amounts. i guess ill just need to do WHATEVER in order to see the results (2 lb. a week). it's scary, and my mind tells me i cant do it-cant gin that much. but then i kick those lies out of my head, and replace it with the truth...........I'm 88 pounds!!!!! that's WRONG!!ED is wrong!

lady-i dont think you're eating too late. the only potential thing would be if you were pounding a lot of "hard" foods and then going right to bed, it's rough on you GI tract. otherwise, it can be a very good thing to eat late. your body can keep it, instead of burn it all right away. I hate eating a lot really early, then spending the day feeling bloated, so i "save" a large majority of my calories for later. my largest "meal" is my evening snack (about 10) and its he only way i make it through.

all-i think we ALL need to mix it up. i know, from my personal life that its "safe" and easy to stay with the foods we know, feel comfortable with and like. but in order to kick ED, we need to have EVERYTHING. also, remember that your body needs it. at first, i had to be forced to eat "different" things, but now i kind of like to. if you are consistantly eating the same thing, your body adjusts to it too, and you will not gain as much as you might with a different food than your body is used to receiving. it sounds crazy, but i beleive there is some truth behind it. look up all the big diet programs, what do they tell you? eat the same thing consistantly, and you will loose weight. 

hotsauce-juice is good!!! so is milk!!! it was my biggest fear food until about a month ago. liquid calories-nothing else can get scarier. i dont go a day without several servings of it a day. its calories, and its painless, it doesnt fill you up and doesnt bloat you at all!! its great. i only drink 100% fruit juice (NO added sugars, pure fruit) and it's been a lfesaver!

Food today:(i had to choose all my own food today-mom was gone, i was very proud of myself, i think it was a good day!)

breakfast:

  • no sugar added peach oatmeal w/.5 c. milk-200
  • 2 morningstar patties-160

First of all-I need to appologize. I truly am sorry for my cruddy attitude the other day, I'm so sorry if I brought anybody down or caused them to stumble in ANY way. My rant was silly, and for that I am sorry.

I am still kind of curious though, how many cals do you take in a day? I'm just wondering if the amount I'm at is extremely unusual or not-I feel like it is.

you all are right-the ONLY option is to eat what you need to gain. and don't keep the number 2500 in yor head. that is a BARE MINIMUM. we need to get higher ladies!! also, some people (like myself) need more than that to gain consistantly. if you're loosing, not gaining, or even gaining less than 1 lb a week, you need to bring it up!! it's a challange, but like we've been saying-it's a fun challange!!

had a breakthrough today. it was closing night at the theater, so double shows, i spent all day there. dinner was catered, and t first i was honestly a little nervous, not knowing what would be served. turned out the main dish was sweet honey dijon chicken w/cheese, mushrooms and bacon. prior to today, i would not have as much as TOUCHED it, but I ate it, and you know what!?!?!?! it was AMAZING! i think it would have tasted better without the bacon, but i ate it just for the sake of eating it, because ED hasn't let me eat bacon in over three years:)

Hi, so sorry for not posting in a while, I really wouldl ike to keep in touch with you all. I read your blogs every day, weather I have time to reply or not:) Thanks so much, you've been a great help. Things have been REALLY rough lately. For one, I'm in theater, and I'm finishing the last week of our Christmas production and have had a crazy schedule. Interestingly enough, I eat MORE when I'm busy and/or around other people a lot. (hehehe, it's a dessert theater, and I get my share of cheesecake quite often-everyone else is dieting though:()

The problem has been with my mom. I only weigh on Fridays, and as of last friday, the scale said I was down 3 pounds from the week before-even after i ate more frikkin food than I have in over a year!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it wasn't totally accurate, I can tell I have gained-I lost a ton in water weight the day before. I do know that I didn't gain as MUCH as I should have though, and I know I need to boost-but it brought about SO much tension-i can't take it anymore! She wants to supervise EVERYTHING I eat, as well as pick all of it out for me, AND boost me to 3500 cals. I know that i need supervision (I've let ED "cheat" my way out of food before) and I know that I can't fully trust myself to choose my food without obsessing too much. I also know i need to boost, but she took it SO drastically. at one point, she told me that she can't do it anymore, and if I can't put the weight on, they'll send me somewhere they can (a clinic). Anyone else have times like that with their parents, or just me? Sorry for the rant, but I'm going to loose it here!!!

Moving on-CONGRATS okgo!!!! It's it a nice feeling when you can choose for yourself to eat something-without having been forced into it? I've had a similar experience. The other day-I had all the cals i needed, but was flippin EXHAUSTED in the middle of the last show of the night, and had a peice of strawberry cheesecake (haven't allowed it in YEARS-YUUUUUUUM-500 cals though!) and it was such a good feeling to know that I AM bigger than ED. I'm so happy you experienced that!!!!

bec88-good job with your eating-you're obviously improving and eating more!! it's SOOOO hard, we all know here, but you need it. Think of it this way-it's the only time in your life you can totally indulge in ANYTHING you want and NOT feel guilty about it. Savor that honney!!(Pumpkin is my ALLTIME favorite thing by the way)

Tatties-i have to thank you for your post. I go through times EXACTLY like you are describing. As crazy as it sounds, my biggest issue is not with food, rather with my clothes. I can't wear my jeans most days anymore, and that is the most depressing thing ever. I know it's good (they look like a 10 yr old's pants)-but when they USED to hang freely on me, and I can't comfortably button them now, that's a hard thing to come to terms with. It's the BEST indicator I have for weight gain though, and it can be agreat motivator. If i am wearing something than makes me look even thinner, or is too big, it's esier to eat more, it reminds me that i need to get bigger-even when i think the clothes just need to be smaller! (XS shirts, and size 0 jeans, should not be on a girl almost 5'8"). Good luck with the gain!! let us know what it is when you do weigh!

lady-i can relate to destroying relationships. I've lost almost EVERYTHING i had over the course of this ED. friends, my JOBS!!!, my hobbies, MY HORSE, worst, my boyfriend, worse, I've strained the relationship between my parents and I nearly to the breaking point. Hang in there, each day is a new one, and let it be that. the only way i can get over these things is to ask them to forgive me after i've realized what I've done to them, forgive THEM for anything they've done to me, and let that old stuff fall away from my life-like it never happened or existed and start fresh the next day. hang in there hun. by the way, Lindt chocolate, YUMMY!!

slr-sorry about the braces, my bro has them, and they are hard. your mouth should be better by tommorow though, hang in there!! good job with your eating, it's nearly impossible, i know, I'm over 3000 cals this week (has ANYONE else here been that high?!?!?!?!WHY SO MUCH???) when you feel fat and bloated, just move on. Have somebody else tell you you have to eat if you need it, don't give ED an option. ED will tell you the same things-I've had a wide range of weights over the past couple years, 80-108. I thought most of the same things throughout. actually, i felt MOST happy and confident when i was 108!!!! I'm counting on the fact that it will be the same when i get back there again.
