Hiya Everyone !
I'm in, but I'm not counting or picking a catagory at the moment. I'm still not eating much because of my tonsils being removed, when I went to see the specialist he said ther ewere complications ( of course ! hehe !) and that's why I'm having issues.
I've decided that while I'm doing the tonsil thing, I'm not eating enough to really be worried about logging and keeping a deficit count. So, next week when I start to eat normally I'll pick a category and start counting.
I've not lost or gained anything in a couple of months, due to the autoimmune liver thing, so I'm just gonna relax a bit and destress, but I have been checking in and will continue to and be your cheerleader for a couple of weeks- I hope that's okay with everyone.
You guys are really doing well so far this month ! Your dedication is inspirational keep up the great work ! |

Hiya there, i did some professional belly dancing three years back. I was self taught with Neena and Veena's tapes Belly Dance fitness for beginners and boy did that really give me a great foundation for when I went to classes and started doing group work and shows.
Classes are a great work out, to a point. If you're in a troupe who preforms you're not really learning so there's no milling around you're straight into dance for one to two hours, but if you're going to take a beginners class, there is quite a bit of milling around ( down time) whilst people try to get the hang of the fundamentals) Still really good movement though.
I'd suggest Neena and Veena belly dance fitness for beginners even if you are going to take a class. Often times, the teachers just don't have enough time to stop and help each and every person prefect a movement, and sometimes it's not natural for teachers to actually break the movements down because they've been doing them so long they come naturally. I was with one group that whilst could preform, they never actually got the basics and so they struggled. On the flip side I was with a teacher who pounded them home. And different teachers teach different ways, one teacher counted out each beat and another just made sounds to each beat..crazy ! Either way you go, it's loads of fun, and if you're not shy you may even one day get PAID to dance ! WHoo-hoo ! |

Hiya Everyone !
I'm alive ! Yes ! That's right I survived having my tonsils out ! It was easy as the first couple of days but now it's so so so painful and the drugs though help me relax and make my typing crap just do not stop the pain ! But I'm alive ! The hospital was wonderful and the nursing staff was amazing ! Because of my allergy to latex I got a private room which was really nice as the hospital is going through renovations and everyone men and women had to share one large room, it was like an emergency room. So, I slept really well. They did try to force me to eat toast though, which I thought was cruel but it's so that your throat doesn't get mushy.
I'm down for the count now though as I'm only awake about 4 hours a day. The doctor sent us home with only panadol for the day and panadine forte for the night ( for Americans it's just Tylenol, panadine forte is like Tylenol with codeine) which didn't help at all, so my hubby went to the chemist and got me something with codine, for during the day too yaaay !
Alle, thanking you for continuing with the thread. Posting once a week is more then plenty ! you could even do the 15th and the last day of the month and that would be more then enough. To be honest, I almost never look at the totals. FOr me this is more for the support and supporting others then a competition. It does however keep me honest with myself, which I really appreaciate.
I'm not sure I'm making any more sense, if not please forgive me, hehe. THanking GOd for spell check or you'd have no clue what I'm saying !!

Nelle, I really don't think it's about actually making the goal...it's more about the fact that we're aiming for something and doing our best. You're doing a wonderful job, posting and counting, I'd not be to conserned if you're over or under your goal for a month.... I'm thinkin' so long as we're good more often then we're bad that's what really matters. I think you're doing just great !

Boy will I be glad when my liver gets over being sick from those antibiotics and I can eat normally again ! I thought dieting to lose some pounds was a hand full... I'm really starting to feel the lack of food, even though I did manage to sneak an oatmeal cookie ! I also upped the calroes from 800 to about 1000 because I just was so afraid of my girly bits not wanting to work right. I did a little over two weeks at 800 calroies every day and liver sickness or not, it's just no fun.
I'm due to have my tonsils out, and because of my heart valve and my BMI we have to wait and see if they will do it. The hospital is over an hour away and we have to be there by 6:30 and they may not even do it ! Fair enough, I am a fatty and they DO have rules..but to be working so hard and not lose weight is bugging me. The liver illness stops me from dropping weight.
On the bright side when I joined CC in mid December my BMI was 41 or 42 now it's 36..still fat but less fat at least..sadly the hospital cut off BMI is 35 !
My tonsil day is Thursday, wish me luck that they'll decide to go ahead and do it, these things have got to come out! |

How was your weekends? I sure hope you all survived ! Some evil person brought cake into my house but I've decided it wont get me! IT WONT GET ME!!!!
One of lifes little annoyances last night I took the two hours you need to paint your nails a glorious shade of pink. I did base coat, two layers of the most perfect pink and a top coat, letting each coat dry before the next. The end result? PERFECTION !
This morning I got up and realized the bathroom needs scrubbing....You can see where this is heading right? Nail polish all chipped to HELL and perfection pink isn't so perfect anymore. UG !

Lillygirl~ I am so sorry that you're not feeling well. It can be such a struggle to get doctor's to listen. It seems that doctors write so much offf to depression and stress they've stopped listening to people and taking them seriously. So much is still unknown to them, even today. Can you ask for blood work? Have them look at your white cell counts, your homones, and keep looking.

cbussiere ~ Talk about motivation, wow! You've been a busy bee! It does feel good to get rid of the extra stuff, huh ? I've moved around quite a bit in the last 4 years 7 times!! I've done some house sitting and moving countries and it amazes me the amount of things I throw out eat time I move and also how much stuff I kept in the short amounts of time at each place. I wonder why I keep it, hehe. It's been liberating to throw out my stuff every 6 months or so.
Now if we could just throw out the extra weight as easily as giving cloths to good will!
I so get what you are saying about your friend. She probably says all that stuff about not getting below size 14 because she is afraid she never will. When we're scared we tell ourselves anything to sooth us, to make it okay. Her telling herself that she isn't meant to be thin is just self soothing, and that's okay./ Everyone has to self sooth at some point. It's just sad because if she changed her thinking and believed in herself she would not have to self sooth about being bigger, because she'd be smaller.
I still think you are going to be an example for her, you're very motivating and you just seem like such a wonderful person.

CBU~ What wonderful news, getting to the 140's! You must be so so so very pleased with yourself ! And skinny jeans, now that's just joyful shopping and new make up and hair stuff is always exciting and brings a feeling of freshness!
I understand how friends can influence our choices when we're with them and you did so well! I think you should be very very proud of yourself for skipping that coffee and going for water and not having the drink with lunch.
You know she influenced you not bad choices maybe now you'll start influencing her into good ones! All you have to do is show her you can still have a great time without food being the main attraction.
I'm glad you shared this with us, I think this is what the challenge is all about !
And thanking you for being so supportive to me, it really does help. And I am feeling very positive about everything, sometimes bad news can be good news cause at least then you have a place to start.

So, I have good news and I have bad. Good news is my hormones are good and they are not causing the weight loss to stop !! And they look good for having a baby in the future. Yaaay
The bad news is that I have autoimmune liver dysfunction. My immune system is attacking my liver because it is confused. My immune has attacked my spine, heart and bowels in the past, so this is something that I've encountered before. It is what has stopped my weight loss, is making me so damn tired and is giving me the "PMS" feeling even though I don't actually have PMS. There are other symptoms too, and I am feeling most of them. My husband and I had just been joking last month about how golden my skin is.
There are drugs, but most of them are steroids and the doctor did not want to put me on anything at the moment..just more rest, which I am getting. And now I'll be eating liver friendly foods whilst my immune system is angry. My diet is already good and she said it is NOT diet based, but eating immune friendly and liver friendly will help and maybe I wont need drugs. I think also, I will be visiting another doctor just for back up. As I feel we could be a little more proactive instead of just waiting and see. The last time my immune system went crazy like this it ate a whole through my heart.
So, I am not expecting to see weight loss numbers on the scale for some time. Bit at least now I have my answers! Nothing worse then going to the doctor and walking away without finding out why you feel like ****.
I'll probably be having some big calorie deficits as I'll mostly be having liquids for a while but I'll be here for April's challenge because I want the normalcy of coming here and see you all and posting daily, I need that.
So, whilst the news wasn't great it wasn't all bad either and I'm feeling quite positive. |

Well I made it!! Whooo-hoo ! Not one pound lost !! Not one pound gained either, so that's okay. Once again, got my period hehe two periods a month no wonder I can't lose any weight. I'm actually not frustrated though. It's going on 5 weeks since i haven't lost anything, but I've not gained anything so I am actually happy. I'd been wondering if I'd ever be able to maintain a weight once I stop trying to lose, and this proves to me that I can.
I've got bloodwork coming back from doctor tomorrow, so hopefully get some news. I hope it's good news! |

SO, my week of eating maintenance isn't going very well ! I've got a cold and all I want is orange juice. Yesterday I have a 1300 deficit. I'll force some food down I can't taste anything so I don't really care what it is. Once I get over this cold , then I'll do the eat more thing and see how it works.

I was given the advise to eat maintenance for a week. SO, yesterday I ate just 100 under my maintenance, and today I tried but didn't get close. Still had a 1200 deficit even though I ate everything I wanted to..it was so much fun ! I don't think I will do a whole week, as I'm disciplined now and I don't wanna mess that up, but I will do a few days, see if that jump starts some weight loss for next week.

I visited the Doctor yesterday, she thinks that since I am having two periods a month my hormones are still confused by the last miscarriage. Also, she said that the damage in my womb is still substantial and it's sending stress messages to my brain and my brain is then sending stress out to my body.
She also said that my weight loss so far is wonderful, and that I'm doing a great job. She weighed me to record the weight I'm at now. Tomorrow I am going for tests to see if my hormones are really the culprit or if it's the stress signals my brain is getting from my womb.
She also gave me hope, she said that I don't need to worry about having a baby right away. She said that it's safe these days all the way up to age 40 and that I have plenty of time to focus on my weight and to heal my soul and to heal my womb. She also gave me that bad news that it's possible that the damage to my womb could prevent me ever being able to carry a baby full term, but she didn't think that would be the case. And I trust God to provide for us in the baby department.
I may not be seeing the scales moving like I'd like to, but this challenge keeps me going, the support Alle and you all give is just wonderful and I couldn't be more greatful for you all if I tried ! |

So guys, I'm really disappointed. I have been counting and measuring carefully, I have been on that bike and I'm having good deficits. My deficits range between 900- 1120 a day and I have not lost any weight in about three weeks, maybe even four.
I've look and looked through what I eat, I do still have some sugars, but I count those and always make sure I have room for them, same if I'm having pizza night. I haven't even had pizza night in two weeks because I was scared that that was the problem.
I'm starting to feel bad when I eat things, I went out to lunch the other day and it took me over an hour to decide where to eat and then I couldn't even order for myself and had my husband order for me. I've never had food issues like this before.
My cloths look different, my body looks different, I'm seeing small changes but that damn scale isn't budging ! I'm gonna go see a doctor today and talk about this, because I am frustrated, working so hard and seeing nothing on the scale.
Alle, you may just be right, maybe I AM full of ****, hehe ! |

With your first washing of hair colour treated hair, you can lose up to 80% of the colour. Because the product opens up the cuticle and changes the salt bonds in your hair it is best not to shampoo your hair for at least 24 hours and if you can go 48 hours when colouring your hair darker or red it is even better. If you wait the 24 hours it helps set all the bonds back up and you should lose a smaller % of your colour.
That said, even if you wait the 24-48 hours you will still see colour wash down the drain, even with colour safe shampoo. This is because it's very difficult to rinse all the colour from your hair. Also, with some colours you wont actually see the true base colours until 24 hours had passed.
If however over your next few washings you continue to see colour loss and your hair does fade noticeably, I would contact your stylist. I've worked with stylists who do not always do what the client asks because we feel we know the product and hair better, this however does not give us the right to give you semi permanent colour when you ask for permanent.
It's not common knowledge even between stylists to wait to wash your hair. It brings the colour and product industry much more money if you are forever washing your colour out right away. You'll buy that colour safe shampoo next time that you skipped this time, to avoid the loss of colour. Also, if you lose a massive amount of colour the first washing, it gets you back into the chair that much quicker because we all chase the shine we get when colour is new. |
