jeez i don't know if anyone read the original post... No my fat is UNEVEN!!

GRRR on my abdomen I can pinch & feel & see much more adipose tissue on the left of belly button than on the right side. I too hope it evens out the thinner I get.  Good luck with all your goals

I am sure if the woman in that picture ever were to come across and read this discussion, she would be not at all offended. In fact, she'd think to herself, "ha, think whatever you want beeyotch haters, but I'm still a model...and you're not." :-)

 LOL love this!

missmoonlight,  I couldn't have said it better than  you!

I just find it kind of interesting that the intention of the OP was to congratulate this woman for putting herself out there, flaws and all and some took this as an opportunity to tear this model down and compare her to what their 'ideal standard' is.

That really says a lot about one's character.

 agreed

I think her BMI is 25.1- that's only .1 off the 'normal' range and hardly unhealthy at 5'10! The pose is unflattering, a lot of women would get that paunch if they were sat like that. The paunch looks like she may have slimmed down from a higher weight and may have a little excess skin there.

It has been said before that BMI is pretty much BS and there are sooo many more factors to take into consideration. My own goal weight at 6'1" is about 180 and if I looked like that- heck I would be pleased!!! I think people see 180 and think 'high weight' but for a tall person it's slim.

There seems to be a battle on this thread between those who are rigidly stuck on 'BMI' and *flat stomach* and those who celebrate her great body. I'm with the second camp!

this....    plus a lot of clapping

just had to mention my LOL @ people living longer than biblical times?? longer than 900 yrs.? before the flood? um unless you believe in evolution bigger LOL.

any way my poor baby sister who has a bmi of 19.5 has a pooch much to her dismay, from rapid weight loss as others have said. it is not supper small either, she hates it & I tell her it is sexy!

well I think she is stunning, "thicker" women so to speak are much more divine to look at.  here is Aphrodite from the 2nd century mythology

http://www.logoi.com/pastimages/img/aphrodite _2.jpg

and Bathsheba from the bible.

we only think "fitter" women look better do to our programming.

Honestly you probably have the same problem I have.. which is that I eat sensibly "all" the time.. and I work-out several times a week. The result left to it's own devices would probably be a weekly calorie delta of -1000 or -1500.. enough to slowly (but surely) lose weight. I mean after a year of that you'd be down 20 pounds.

My problem is that... once a week.. or maybe even once ever two weeks... there will be that one meal.. or that one snack. And it doesn't seem like much, a couple slices of pizza (ya know because I'm so good all the rest of the time) or maybe a donut that someone brought into the office turns into 2 or 3... Anyways, this "snack" will erase almost an entire week (or multiple weeks) of caloric loss in one go.

I know a lot of people (and books, and doctors, and friends, and family) all say that "It's okay to treat yourself once and a while..." But the truth is, it's not. It's really not. One day, one meal, one snack even... can wipe out days and weeks of hard-work and effort.

I agree that once you are at your target weight and no longer need to lose any, it's okay to snack at one time, and then cut back the next: this is fine, this is balanced parity. But when you are seeking a negative difference between calories burned and calories consumed, there really is very little room for error.

 i agree with this.

mmmmmm I love burnt popcorn, ever so slightly "burnt" as in over done, slightly brown, not black.

YUM YUM I burn every time on purpose.  Don't worry I won't get cancer I know the cure & ingest it regularly.

If you don't enjoy exercise then you are not alone... just do it anyway.  You don't have to like it, you just have to do it.
