Are you a male or female?? If you're female and can run at that pace for that distance, I don't see why you're on a weigt control forum... The average speed of females in the military is a 8 to 9 minute mile run, and once we get past two miles, most typcally slow their pace down alot. I can only imagine 7.5 miles... so that's about a 8 minute mile pace... for 7.5 miles straight... Very impressive. I've never known a woman to be able to do that, but I guss there's a first time for everything. If you used an elipticle or anything like that to count your miles and time, then it isn't acuarate, but the fact that you did a run like that is amazing, Keep it up! |

You can actually figure out your body fat percentage yourself, atleast it's how the military does it. All you need is a bendable tape measurer. you can use this site to get yours. It's a Body Fat Calculator. :P http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet .html

Don't eat the chocolate.... Give it to me... lol jk. But seriously, I don't know about you, but when I go to bed and refuse to eat that little fatty snack that I'm so badly craving, in the morning I feel great! I feel like I'm skinnier. I don't know why I feel that way, but I do, I feel accomplished. :P Anyways... I got a WoOoOo Also! I finally got past that brick wall today! :D You know there is a weight that people seem to get stuck at, well, even though mine is only a pound less than my stuck weight, It made my day. :D Only 16 more pounds to go. :D And congrats on eating less... but like anyone would say, it's probably not healthy altering your calorie intake by that much in a day. Because your body becomes so used to getting a certain amount of calories, and when you eat an extreme amount less than normal, even though it was a day, your body might think it's going into starvation and store what you did eat as fat. I don't know though, I'm not an expert... :P Good job anyways! |

Wow, your meal plan for the day sounds great. You made me hungry reading it. I should deffinately try planning my meals before the day begins. That's a pretty good idea. Let's see.... So tomorrow I'll try planning my meals for the day with something similar to what you posted and see how it goes. Thanks! :D
Edited: No, lol, I actually ate the cereal plain. But yea, I'll deffinately add milk next time. I think I'm just afraid to add too much food to my diet... even though you have to have certain amounts of calories/fat and nutrition to lose weight... Something I have to get over. I just know how easy it would be for me to start eating tooo much, you know? |

I feel like I ate a balanced meal, and it feels like I ate alot of food, but it says I only ate 855 calories today. Breakfast - 2 cups of whole grain total cereal Lunch - a Can of campbells chunky chicken noodle soup, Small can of corn, 3 Ritz Crackers, 1 slice of wheat bread. Snack - Strawberry flavored apple sauce, Small bag of Lays chips Dinner - Tossed salad with ham and cheese sprinkles. With Italian low fat dressing. That's alot of food, but not enough daily calories. Maybe I should throw in more meat?? I have enough carbs... that's for sure... too many fats though... Not sure what to add..

| Weight Loss | I'm gaining weight | Dec 17 2008 16:31 (UTC) |

Like they say... Muscle weighs more than fat. You're probably gaining muscle. Also, does your diet consist of alot of protein?? If so, that could also be a problem. I'm starting to think that was one of my problems. I started eating only things like tuna fish, egg whites, and turkey. Turns out they're all high in protein. Protein is used to build muscles, and what you don't use for turning into muscle, turns into fat. So you could be gaining muscle and fat?? Try to cut down on lots and lots of protein, keep them in descent amounts. Also, FRUIT is not always a good thing either. They say that one serving of fruit is good enough, probably in your breakfast time frame. Since Fruit has alot of fructose, your body will only absorb so much fructose before it starts turning it into fat. Good luck! ALSO be sure to drink LOTS and LOTS of WATER! It helps your body function, recover, helps with metabolism, and also gets rid of a little bit of hinger and cravings. Good luck! I'm in the same boat with you. But I'm sure if we stay motivated we'll reach our goals. :) |

| Health & Support | I think I'm becoming bulimic.... or already am... | Dec 17 2008 16:24 (UTC) |

I'm ashamed, and embarrases. The only person I could really turn to is my mom, her and I are really close, and I would never want to burden her or disappoint her. She has too much to worry about as it is with me. She already worries about me everyday since I've been deployed for a year already, so the only help I can turn to right now, is online. I can't seek help over here either with a counselor or therapist, it will ruine my career. Literally... And with the losing weight... I've read so many body health books, and weight loss magazined and articles, it's rediculous. I went two weeks of extreme exercise and healthy eating, before my "problem" and none of it worked not even a loss of one pound. Some reason it's like I've turned to a last resort... I know that isn't the right answer, I keep telling myself that, but I don't know why I won't stop. Though, sharing this I think is going to help me. The first thing to recovery is admitting your problem. Then you just try try again. Though the holidays are going to make this very difficult...
Thank you for your replies, very much appreciated.

| Weight Loss | I'm addicted to potato chips - HELP! | Dec 17 2008 15:23 (UTC) |

Wow! I deffinately know what you're talking about. I thought it was just me. When I was younger my mom would let me go to the store with $5 a day and buy what ever I wanted to eat for a snack, I ALWAYS grabbed a big bag of chips, every single day. At that age I was sooooo skinny, and could eat my weight in food and never gain an once. Now I'm so used to being able to eat whatever I want, that I can't stop. I still eat a bag a day, I'm surprised I'm not a million lbs. I'm 21 and weigh 127. I would like to know how to stop eating them as well. I recently have been able to go a week without them, but they some how always sneak back up on me. The only trick I was able to use was Green apples. I've become addicted to those. :P Instead of having bags of chips around the house, I bought lots and lots of green apples. They help. It's better to get addicted to apples than chips. Even though eating too many fruits can cause you to gain weight as well, since it has alot of fructose that turns into fatty sugars.
Good luck! Fighting the chip battle with you. :P |
