I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of my two babies sleeping, the TV quietly on HGTV in the background with my husband playing guitar in the basement. It's turned out to be a good night. I'm thinking about doing some stretches and then heading for bed. |

OOh OOh me too me too! I have a 10 month old boy and a 2 year old girl. Wow - can my little girl throw a tantrum. I get so frustrated and overwhelmed by her. She's in this I have to do it my way phase which can also be extremely frustrating when you're in a hurry and she has to get into her carseat by herself, buckle it by herself...everything by herself. It's also embarassing when she decides to throw a tantrum in the middle of a store. I wish she was one of the quiet tantrum throwers! She screams and turns red and almost evil. LOL On the other hand - my 10 month old boy is still quite pleasent unless he's hungry. It's been so nice reading all of your comments and having a few giggles tonight! Thanks! |

| Weight Loss | My breakthrough: eating like a "normal" person | Aug 11 2009 03:01 (UTC) |

Feydruss - I just started eating normal for the first time since December. No calorie counting, examining every last gram of fat/protein/carb ratio...and I've lost 2 pounds! I think we sometimes need a break mentally. I just got back from a long family vacation with a Grandma who lives to cook so I definately over ate and over indulged myself. It was heaven. LOL The math didn't work for me either though so we'll see what I do next. I love CC though, whether I calculate calories or not, the people here, forums and motivation are worth sticking around. :) |

Hi Tani 24! I'm almost 26 and have 2 babies at home - 2 years & 8 months. They are the little loves of my life as I'm sure your 2 year old is. I'm writing because now that I have my 2nd baby, I couldn't imagine life without him. His little smile is precious and to see my 2 year old interact with her little brother is the greatest joy. Just this morning my son was crying on the floor while i was putting a pair of shorts on him and my daughter came over with one of her toys and gave it to him! He immediately stopped crying and I was so overjoyed to see my daughter sharing and comforting her brother (not to mention helping mommy). It's what family is all about! Anyways - children are our greatest gifts and if you're having an itch to have another baby then it's probably the right time for your family. Like what people have told Lunger - you have your whole life to work and have a career but only a short time to have babies. PS - I've always worked full time but just recently was laid off due to the economy but I was working full time with both of my children until just recently. Congrats Lunger! Love, Jla |

Hi Everyone! I am pretty proud of myself - I have succeeded at 3 of my workouts and have not strayed from my diet once. I've gotten back down to 130 (had to lose some easter weight) and am still going full force. I'm pretty excited and feel like this will actually work for me. I have found that I get bored with videos so by weight training I'm constantly changing it up, listening to the music I love, dancing in between sets for cardio, and pushing myself harder. So far, I'm loving it. Karey! Have fun on your cruise, you definately deserve it! Gina: I hope the scale is nice to you! I'm excited to see your 1/2 way pics for p90x...pictures are always so motivating. When I saw what I actually looked like from behind I was quite taken back! LOL I'm very relieved my husband loves me but I cannot wait to have a body that rocks his world! Soraya: That is such a great motivation to pledge that you'll lose 8 pounds to help hunger! WOW - I really hope that you make it...that is so cool. I don't drink too much but I probably have a glass of wine or 2 a week and I'm trying to even stop that right now. Something has got to change, I'm proud of you for trying so hard and giving up the things that are the hardest. I know you'll do this - it seems like you have a new mindset now and are determined. Sarah: I'm glad you got your weight back down - I had to recover after Easter too. I think one of the hardest things about dieting is to stick through it during the weekends and Holidays. I have realized that I am spending all week losing the weight that I gained over the weekend so I am no longer letting myself have cheat days (or weekends) and am just going for it! Karen: 90 degrees sounds wonderful! It rained all day today and was pretty crappy which is very depressing and dreary. I can't wait for the nice weather to hit MI - throw some my way please! Alright everyone - I'm exhausted so I'm heading to bed. LOVE TO ALL! |

Thanks everyone for your comments about my hair! LOL I love it too. It makes me happy. Well I haven't been gaining but I haven't been losing either so I kicked it up another knotch today. I've been getting extremely motivated reading everyone's success stories on weight lifting and I said before that I wanted to give it a try so I did a lot of research on line and decided on a little starting routine. Anyways - today I did lunges, squats, weights for my arms (bicep curls etc...), push ups, crunches, lots of stretching and some cardio. I have a wedding to attend on May 23rd and am determined to look and feel better. So it started today! I'm going full force for 40 days...GINA - that's my mantra at the moment. I'm currently at 130/131 lbs....don't remember where I was before I left work and got consumed with home life. LOL My goal weight is 112/115!! Oh yeah - I had my hubby take a before pic today (it wasn't too pretty). I felt worse for my husband than I did for myself, but he loves me! Soraya: I hope your chest starts to feel better! I think I answered everything in my post from your pm, except the eating part. I'm eating clean (mostly) and still counting every calorie...the big thing that is holding me back is that my weekends totally screw me up. If I could just stay focused for longer then I would be able to lose more of this weight. I spend all week trying to lose the weight I put on over the weekend - it's been an on going struggle. Which is why I'm aiming high for the next 40 days with no turning back!! Karey & Sarah: Your cruises/vacations sound wonderful. I know that I'm not working anymore...BUT I NEED ONE TOO! Gina: I agree that you are a machine! Very motivating for us non motivators over here...I get bored or just give up. UGH I'm very proud of you. Sorry to those I didn't reply back too - I'm so tired. Good Night! LOVE TO ALL, Jamie |

Hi Ladies! Thank you all so much for thinking of me. K9 sent me a special message and since I actually have time I figured I would stop by to say hi and that I'm still here and kicking. Sarah is right - I have been CRAZY busy at home with my two babies and hubby. We're all at home everyday and now we're starting up our T-shirt business so thinks are a little scattered. I can't get my daughter away from the computer when I'm on it (she's only 2, I can't imagine when she's 16) and when the babies are sleeping it's my one chance to work out or clean. Anyways - I'm still logging calories and still trying my best to lose this weight and work out. I finally hit 130 and then gained a couple back when I went to IL to visit my father in law. So now I'm just trying to get back down...like some of you are doing right now too. I've also started to work out differently - doing more strength training then cardio...llike push ups, sit ups, free weights. Just simple stuff right now. Well I hope to be back on and kicking with you ladies soon! I'm not going anywhere so please keep checking in on me. You are all so great and wonderful! Love, Jamie

Ladies! I love you all so much. I just updated myself on all the posts, so sorry I haven't been as active lately but life has been horribly stressful and busy with my little ones. My daughter has been sick with a fever this week and money has been a huge issue with my husband and I. I cried so hard the other day that I broke a blood vessel in my eye! I've still been eating well though (for the most part). Soraya: That's so weird about that guy! what a creepo. It's so funny that your daughter just decided to be a vegetarian because I just decided to start eating meat after 6 years of being a vegetarian. LOL I find that I'm very thirsty now...maybe because of the extra sodium? Weird! I did it for many many reasons and feel like my whole world just opened up...I've been eating so restricted for so long and now feel like a new person. It's kind of invigorating! Sara: I voted for you just now! It looks like you have a lot of votes so far so that's awesome. I laughed out loud when I just read your post commenting on mine about the cruise but it's so true!! Gina: I love your new pic, you look great and I can't wait to see your after shots even though I think you look like a stunner already! To everyone else - I hope you are all doing wonderful and staying motivated. When things calm down I'll be on more to comment and share. PS - The college thing went well and we found a very nice apartment so we'll be probably moving in June! It will be the start of a new life and I'm excited for it. LOVE TO ALL! |

Ladies! This is so weird - I'm usually a morning poster while I'm at work and now it's almost 10:00 PM and I'm posting from home while my babies are sleeping and hubby is watching hockey. So different! I'm still trying to get into the swing of being a stay at home mommy so I'm not sure how often I can be on but i did read through everyone's posts and still think of you all! I pigged out today because my husband was home and he eats all day long...pizza here, cookies there...blah blah blah. plus my sweet little girl with her cookies and cheesey poofs UGH! So today wasn't so good and tomorrow we're heading out to visit a college so who knows how eating is going to go while I'm there - cafeteria food? Oh My. Soraya: I'm so proud of you for switching gears - sometimes all we need to do is turn that little light on in our brains. I think you're going to see some great results with counting your calories and limiting your alcohol intake plus weighing in to stay on track every once in a while. This is exciting and I know you're going to do great! Girlfighting: I can't wait to see your pictures! Your cruise sounds so fun, I've always been scared to go on one because I have a fear of big water and whales...i always imagine some maniac throwing me overboard and then being deserted in the ocean with a huge whale underneath me. LOL To all my other ladies - I love you all bunches and will try my best to be on more.

2babettermom - I've talked to you before...I think when I posted about calories a stay at home mom burns? not sure - anyways! I'm 25, married for almost 3 years, and have 2 babies - Broderick (Brody) Isaiah is 5 months & Chloe Shea is 22 months. They are my angels! My last day of work is today so I'll be a stay at home mom from now on (hopefully). luvmyboy: We were having a hard time figuring out a boy name too! My hubby wanted Roddick (after Andy Roddick - big tennis fan) and I was like honey...that's not even a name so I thought of names that had the same feel and we decided upon Broderick which we both fell in love with. We call him Brody and Chloe calls him Body. |

Ladies! I'm so excited...waiting a week to weigh myself and eating clean (for the most part) has totally paid off. I lost 2 pounds this week! YAHOO Starting Weight - 138 Last Weigh In - 133.8 Current Weight - 131.2 !!!!!! Goal Weight - 112/115 For those who just joined (I'm new myself too) I've been on a month long plateau so this is the first drop I've seen in a LOOOONG time. As for our little discussion about cardio vs. lifting. I come from a background of dance - danced as a little girl, danced competitively in highschool, almost have a dance minor in college so I just cannot fathom my life without cardio. When I excercise now my body seems to crave cardio so I tend to love my workout videos and feel that it works best for me. Don't get me wrong - I do like to lift weights too but definately don't feel like it's them or the highway. I looked amazing when I was dancing, I was toned and in shape and never lifted anything but my legs. LOL Raginheadache: I really am an every day weigher at heart but I was getting so discouraged and depressed about it that I had to stop. And fortunately it paid off! It's a fight to only weigh myself once a week - the scale calls me as much as those cookies and potato chips. LOL Today is my official last day...it's so weird. All I can think of is being at home with my babies now, I'm really excited at this opportunity. Heck - at this age all they need is love, food, and diapers and fortunately we can still provide that. I'm just hoping things turn around by the time they are 17 and 18 because I remember too well how expensive I was at that age. Class ring, Varisty Jacket, Graduation, College... and I had a job! Oh my. Redselene: Can you post your comparison pics? I would love to see them. |

My last day of work is tomorrow! I had no idea, the company never talked about lay offs and then BOOM - me and one other Admin got laid off due to the economy and because we had the least seniority. I have a good severance package and am just being thankful that I get to see my kids more. My husband is also unemployed (but there is an offer on the table at the moment) and we just lost our house. SOOOO yeah, the economy sucks but we just have to count our blessings and loved ones to get through it. Good Luck! |

Raginheadache - thank you for the welcome! I'm coming back to weigh in with everyone tomorrow and haven't weighed myself since last Friday so I'm a little bit anxious. My last day of work (I got laid off) is tomorrow so I'll be a stay at home mommy with my 2 little ones who are 21 months and 5 months. I'm planning on upping my cals because I know I'll be more active around my house than just sitting at the computer for 8 hours and in the car another 2. So hopefully that will help break this plateau. I'm so ready to drop some more weight!!!

Hi Ladies, So I started the dreaded task of packing up my desk today...it's so weird. I haven't weighed myself yet but I've been doing very good eating clean lately with a few minor exceptions here and there like cream in my coffee. Last night I went to a Mary Kay Pedicure party and had a great time and definately ate over my calorie intake for the day. I just cannot resist spinach dip, Hawaiin bread, cheese & crackers. URG K9: I LOVE the dress...it is definately the best choice and you look FABULOUS in it! Karen: I love sushi! It's not that bad if you have the california rolls - it's when you get into the tempura, deep fried, cream cheese ones that you get into trouble. LOL - I love those the best though. Congrats on lifting 105 - that was my weight in High School! Soraya: That's awful that they're keeping your money from you! OH MY - I would definately be pissy. It seems like everyone is getting sick right now, I hope you feel better soon. My hubby is popping cough drops like they're chocolate! Girlfighting: You should so go out for America's Next Top Model! How fun!! I would actually watch it if you were on it. So my boss just walked up to me in the middle of me writing this post and told me that I don't have to come in on Monday (my scheduled last day) and that I'll still be paid! So tomorrow is now my official last day. CRAZY! |

Danaofdoom - if it makes you feel any better...I've been a vegetarian for 6 years and ate a chicken nugget last night! LOL It's all ok - we're humans and women which means we can make mistakes and change our minds at any time. I've been thinking about going back to eating meat lately for personal reasons. I originally stopped eating beef because I couldn't digest it and then just decided to give up everything else. |

Hey Everyone, I was just looking through my friends and realized that Carlyn's picture was missing so I clicked in her profile and her last log in date was Feb. 23rd. This was her last post. I hope she's ok! Maybe we should say some prayers for her. I guess this is a short month so it's really only been about 9 days...let's just think about her and hope that she heals up quickly! Okay, I am having myself a pity party and wanted to invite you ladies. I can't seem to shake this cold or whatever it is. I feel so weak. My chest hurts. It tastes like cigarettes when I cough and I haven't smoked in almost three years. All I did yesterday is sleep and I missed a day of my Smart Coach running program. I felt so bad. I never miss a workout. Like in a year, maybe one. I thought maybe I could make it up today but I feel so weak I don't think it is going to happen. And I am sick of calorie counting. Maybe it is my mood or something but I need a break from logging everything I eat. Just a few days and hopefully I will feel better about everything. I guess this would be the time to take a break since I don't feel like eating food anyway. I actually ate some chicken noddle soup last night and I hate that stuff. But it was the only thing that sounded remotely good. I hope at least everyone else is feeling great and is going to have a wonderful weekend. I just needed to vent a little. I'm done. Feel a little better. |

K9: I love the 2nd dress...I agree with Girfighting that it is sexier and flitier so I guess it depends on the event and how modest you have to be. LOL I'd probably wear the 2nd one myself, I think it speaks confidence and looks younger too. Plus - I absolutely love the yellow jewelry that you accessorized with. Girlfighting: I'd log the Carmen Electra as either low impact cardio or dancing...there is an option for dancing on the activity brower. I tried a couple minutes of it once but I felt really silly...I was still pretty over weight and not feeling very sexy at that time. I could probably do it easier now though. Let me know how you like it! My best friend did it and she said she thought it was nice and easy but that she really felt it in her abs and butt a day later. Johgar: I'm sure your pants are bigger just because of where you carry your weight. I have 2 best friends who are about the same weight and height but one carries weight in the thighs and butt and the other in her chest and tummy so their pant sizes are completely different. I hope you found lots of stuff you can wear! I LOVE new clothes. GDD: Hurray to sunshine! I so need sunshine and am definately ready to get outside and play and for longers days. Bring it on! I've been very good and have been clean eating yesterday and today. Whole grains bagel & light cream cheese - breakfast; 1/2 acorn squash, banana, mandarin orange, 1 oz. hommus & 7 pita chips - lunch; dinner I'm planning on bell peppers, portabella mushrooms, onions & brown rice with a little bit of sharp cheddar cheese. I also have an apple for a snack between lunch and dinner. Alright Ladies! The count down has officially begun...5 more actual days of work left. I'm going to take the opportunity to actually put all of the useful information I've learned on cc into practice instead of just reading about it 8 hours per day. LOL I haven't weighed myself in 3 days and am not planning on doing so until Friday morning...i became too obsessed! Not good. Love to all! |

I have a good friend who is a survivor of Lukemia and she made a donation to the camp she went to for cancer survivors when she was younger. I also have a friend getting married in Sept. whose father passed away in April of cancer and she is also making a donation. They just put little cards at each place setting that read "instead of favors we have donated to....." It was really nice. For my wedding I had bookmarks made with a special verse, our names, and dates. I figured they were something special that people could use in their favorite book or keep in their bible and didn't have to worry about putting it in a shelf. Oh! My other friend who just got married did m&ms and she somehow was able to put pictures of her and her new husband on them. They were very cool! |

Hi Everyone, Thanks for your words of encouragement. Girlfighting: I love pilates/yoga, floor excerising etc... I like both cardio and weights but it totally depends on my mood. I think if I had more access to weights that I would do it more than cardio but sadly that's not the case. But coming from a dancer's background I feel like my body goes into shock if I don't do my cardio. :) K9: Your dress and new shoes are smoking! You look great. Karen: I know what you mean about overeating and feeling terrible afterwards! I did that the other day and was more miserable than anything...not fun. That's awesome that you get to work out with a trainer...I would love to have someone motivating me instead of my husband staring at me and making "suggestive" comments whenever I stretch! LOL Soraya: I read Gina's article and it makes sense. I'm really trying to beat this little spurt and get the weight loss going again. |
