Thanks for the fast response! Yes,I did make a typo I meant per serving which was 2.5, 1/2 cup servings each at 80 calories per half cup. Oh no,I didn't realize about the salt in the soup! Thank you so much for letting me know that,now I know what i'm looking at when it comes to salt in food. Yes,I do love to cook,most days I cook two meals a day and I do alot of it from scratch. I guess I won't be eating anymore can soups. I had eaten a few diet meals but when I looked to the back and saw all the salt I stopped those. I have begun to realize that anything diet has salt in it. Thanks again |

I know this is a older thread but Its just what I've been looking for anwser for. Ok here's what I was wondering about. Today I had a whole can of soup(2.5 servings) for lunch. The serving size was 1/2 cup and the calorie was 80 per can. Here's the stats on the back of the can: Total fat-2,Saturated fat - 0.5,Trans fat-0,Choresteral.-5,Sodium-850,Total Carbs-11,Dietry Fiber-1,Sugar-0, Protien-2. So if I did eat the whole can it would be 240 calories and the salt would be 2550? Whoa,thats a lot of salt then,and I'll have to watch out. Please let me know if this is correct.because I do have high blood pressure and I take meds for it. Thanks |

My husband and I both suffer with our sinus's and I love my neti pot! Another thing that helps us to take a thin towel,(cos the thick ones are too heavy when wet) fold it in a square,put it in our bathroom sink and run hot water over it until its completely wet,wring it out and put the towel in the microwave for about 3 or 4 minutes. Be careful when taking it out because it will be HOT and the STEAM will BURN. Once it cools some and can be handle go lay down and put the towel over your fore head eyes and nose(not your mouth,but keep the mouth closed) breathe in deeply the stream from the towel until it cools,repeat until head ache is gone. Your sinus's will open up and you'll feel better and you'll get a facial too! |

I have been having symtoms similar to yours for the last two months off and on. I have been to the ER three times and the doctor 4 or 5 times. All say its GERD. My chest is sore at the middle of my breast bone. One doctor gave me a GI Cocktail that knocked it right out. I am tired of having all this discomfort. Even if I lift my grandson it will sometimes start the pain. I've had test such as blood work,x-rays,but haven't had the scope yet because I have no insurnace at this time. I am in hopes I won't have to keep going on like this. One doctor told me not to Carbs at all. |

Thanks kelilah21! I'm not giving up,but it does sux sometimes doesn't it. This morning much to my surprise I'm back down to 215 after around a week of no lose. You know I am too(athletic fat person)I can out walk most my friends and my husband and not be tired? Go figure. Thanks All for the advice |

Wow johnnypeso your making me "Blush"Lol! No you didn't offend me. I know what I have to do now and I'm going to make it like I said one pound at a time. I've been sitting on my arse too long. Gotta get to moving more. Up until last year I walked two-three miles every other for three years,then I just got lazy and stopped putting back on 60 pounds,I had gotten down to 170. Thanks again. I do have a treadmill and a elliptical machine that I had started using again(used faithfully when I walked)but havn't used them but three times since I started over this time. I love to walk and excerise and I will start tommorrow on my treadmill the other will have to wait as my shoulder is still hurting and my machine has ski bars. |

Thanks everyone for the advice. Yes johnypenso I didn't get to this weight overnight I have been at my lowest 118 pounds at 20 to my largest which was 232 pounds at 52, this past August. This morning I had gained another 2 pounds putting my total weight gain back as 4 pounds. I'm not giving up by no means. I'm going to fight this weight off pound by pound. The problem with me is that sometimes I get down on myself about it. So I weigh 218 right now and have been yo yoing from 214 to 216 since Jan.7th and like I said this morning I had put the 2 extra ones on. I weigh every morning after going to the bathroom. I think I'll stop that and just start weighing in on Fridays from now on. |

I'm 5 foot 3 and 52 years old. I weigh 214.5 as of the last 5 days and have dropped anymore weight. My calorie intake is 1450 per day. My other problem is I'm eating too much fat. I thought I should be eating a 30% fat,20% protien and a 50% carb total each day am I wrong? If I am what should I be eating? I usually always go over the 20% fat here the last few days. My burn calories are 2200. So this morning I had 2 eggs,with pam,1 cup oatmeal with sweetner, 1 slice regular bread toasted with low cal butter spray, two thin slices of bacon(110 cal) |

Thanks for the advice. I did get another 290 calories in which got my calorie intake for the day to 1163 but I still have 287 that I didn't get in. I will have to try eating 500 for breakfast and lunch and then 450 for my evening meal that way I'll be sure to get the 1450 in each day. Thanks again! I usually always plan my meals but I didn't do it for today so I guess the small lunch is what did it. |

Yes I have a problem with some foods staying in my system to long. The main one is slice bread. Thats why I don't eat it very much it constipates me and I have to use another source of fiber. |

Try rinsing the fat in the ground beef by running very hot water over it in a collender,or boil it and then drain. Its sounds yuck,but its not once the seasonings are put on. |

To be a matter fact I've only had two partners and I'm 52. I lost my V at 15 to my first husband,married him,at 17,stayed married two years and divorced..a year and a half later I met my now husband and we have been married 32 years. And I was a child of the 70's . I'm not saying I didn't have chances to be with more people,its just I had a list..clean hair,teeth.body etc. And believe me I'm no prude,just picky. Who wants to swap food particles with someone you barely know. Yuck. |

Back in the 60's when my brothers were young pre school boys they played with my dolls as well as I did their trucks and car. G.I Joes was my favorite. My grandsons now play with their mothers old dolls when they come here to visit. I see anything wrong with it myself. Both my brothers turned out fine |

I'm 52 years old and had been a Pepsi and Diet Pepsi addict since a young teen. The drinks had started causing problems with my health around age 30. I had kidney stones at least twice a year,I started having Irrital Bowel,Acid Reflux,bladder infections,my teeth had began to have cavities and I didn't have any until 29. I even put on weight. I tried getting away from them by going first to sprite zero and water,after awhile I started with iced tea. I now rarely drink sodas when I used to walk a few miles sometimes to get one as a teen. I now just mainly drink the iced tea and water. |

Being a emotional eater myself I know how hard it is to stay on a diet. I too have been on many. What I try to do when I get into a stressful situation is get outside and take a walk,find something else to keep me from going to the comfort foods I love and make me feel loved. I also might decide to snack on celery,100 calorie popcorn,you could have the three cups of air popped if you want.(I use pam butter spray or I can't believe its not butter spray on mine) I am finally learning when I am stressed,and its alot these days to tell myself its okay. If I do go to the frig and get something I shouldn't I don't beat myself up about it anymore..I just let it roll off my back. Good Luck! And by the way..I have found this site is the best place for me to be,it has helped me so much. I even come here when I have a stress situation! I also love to snack at night but its getting better. I try to save a low calorie snack just case I needed one,sometimes its every night! |

Breakfast 2- slices unsweet pineapple 2 poached eggs 2 slices of oscar mayer ham,96% fat free,cold 1 slice natures own wheat and fiber bread(don't care for bread,but trying) 1 cup Lipton tea,hot with sweeter--403 calories Lunch Spinach Salad recomended on this site,with 2 oz skinless chicken breast,a few teaspoons of onion,1 teaspoon of olive oil and 4 whole walnuts thrown on top at end of cooking. 1 and a half cups of unsweet pears 1 8 oz glass of water snack: yoplus yogurt probiotics Dinner Hamburger patty 80-20 boiled,small amount of seasoning salt 1 cup green beans,no seasonings 2 cups unsweet pears 1 slice natures own wheat and fiber bread 1 6 oz glass of water 1 cup hot tea with sweetener Yes its alot of food and I am having a time getting it all down each day |

A ER doctor told me this the night I went to the ER three weeks ago thinking I was having a heart attack. My family doctor said I had GERD and told me to do the South Beach if I wanted. Yes,i BELIEVE the ER doctor is behind the times. |

Thanks all for the advice. I am trying sooo hard. I also have Reflux(gerd)so I have to watch what I eat. My doctor told me to cut out carbs. I don't see how I can cut them all out and still have a healthy diet,but I am doing well so far and feeling good. As for the OTHER percentage,I'll have to look to just see what th at is and I'll let you know.As for the salt,I do have high blood pressure and need to watch it. I don't care for bread, but I have bought Natures Own Wheat and Fiber to try and get some more fiber in . Merry Christmas1 and Thanks Again! |

Thanks soooo much for the advice and information. I told the doctor how did he expect me to have a healthy diet since it would consist of basically eating nothing,and he passed it off. I seem to be doing well so far on my diet,doctors are good but they are not god and they don't know our bodys as well as we do. So that is why I am still eating carbs but not just as much. I think a weight loss and not eating before going to bed is helping me. Thanks Again! |

What about persons who have reflux or GERD? My doctor told me NOT to eat CARBS because it makes the reflux(GERD)WORSE. Today is my first day,I have eaten some carbs and done well. Any suguestions? |
