Motivation Under 150 --- positive people to work with me on this goal! Jan 07 2009

Good morning everyone,

Lynn, we had ice here in PA last night and I wish it was rain.  Everything has about a 1/2 inch of ice on it.  The only good thing is we were dismissed 1 1/2 hours early yesterday and had a two hour delay this morning.  The kids are a little wild.

Toch,  How are you doing with the chocolate battle?  Are M&Ms a trigger food for you or can you eat an ounce and stop?  Good luck!

Camelot, Congratulations on your loss!  Janay gave good advice.

Janay, I hate running inside on the treadmill also.  I like mixing it up with cardio classes and weight training.

Last night I ran 3 miles in 27 minutes and then I worked on lower body strength training for 30 minutes and then I did yoga for 15 minutes.  With the time off of school, I found it much easier to find workout time.

Tonight after teaching all day, we have parent teacher conferences from 6pm -9pm.  I am hoping I can squeeze in an hour workout before I have to go back to school.  The laundry can wait!

Good morning all,

I stuck to my plan yesterday and ate 1300 calories and did a 60 minute BodyAttack class.  So far so good today.  I think I am going to weigh in on Fridays.  My daughter is home from college so she is doing all the cooking, which helps me with the temptation to pick while I am cooking.

I plan to go to a yoga/pilates class after school today, but the weather is predicted to be bad by this afternoon.  If the roads are not good, I will probably do a DVD of yoga.

Anyone else find it difficult to work out after working all day, taking care of a home and family?  Some days I am just spent.

Well, have a good day everyone!

Hello ladies,

It sounds like you are in a similiar place to me.  I weighed in today and I am 162 and my goal is to be 150.   I am 40 years old and have an 18 year old daughter and 15 year old son.  I am also a high school math teacher.   I go to the gym  6 days a week and I am also a runner.  I know I have the fitness part of my plan down, but I really need to work on my eating.  I have been on CC since 12/26/08 and I think it has been helping.  I am trying to keep my calories below 1500 and eat a balanced diet.

After school I plan to do a class called BodyAttack.  It is a high impact aerobics class and I usually burn about 500 calories.  I would really like to keep writing and communicating with someone to help me stay on track.

I read all four of the Twilight books and saw the movie.  I have an 18 year old daughter and I teach High School, so I thought I would see what all the fuss was about.

I agree with aacovert, it is a fairy tale, albeit a very well written one.  I think you can definitely hold onto your feminism and still enjoy a good tale.  The books are very easy to read and they also present an opportunity for different generations to talk about male and female roles in society.

My daughter and I are also rooting for Jacob.  I think there is definitely enough material for a 5th book.

Enjoy the books, it does less damage than treating yourself to icecream.
