Weight Loss How to split up calories? Sep 09 2009

I'd just eat when you're hungry and keep track of things to stay within the limit, but if you're interested in following a plan, first of all I'd suggest having a decent breakfast (Say 300-500 cals) followed by a snack before lunch to make up the difference between the 300-500. (ex. if you had a 350 Calorie Breakfast have a 150 Cal snack)

Between Lunch and dinner, you can distribute the remaining 850 Cals (Say around 400 each or 200 Lunch, 600 Dinner) but it's completely up to you.

You can otherwise fit in a snack either between the latter meals or after dinner if you have calories left over after factoring in your plans for lunch and dinner.

Health & Support No counting = headache? Help, please? Sep 07 2009

I have to agree that it's most likely anxiety by the sounds of it, although counting calories isn't really a bad thing in the first place so I wouldn't worry too much and I especially wouldn't restrict yourself from doing it if it's bothering you to that extent.

It's up to you, and you might be able to overcome the anxiety after a while if you continue, but you'll still probably suffer headaches until then so I wouldn't recommend it.

If it were a symptom of trying to quit smoking or something like that then I'd say press on, but it's not really worth it simply to practice intuitive eating.

Health & Support repairing my metabolism? Or just getting fat? Sep 07 2009

Personally I went through something similar, although mine only went for about four months before the doctors were threatening to hospitalize me.

Instead of ramping up calories slowly, I instead ate as much as I could handle since I absolutely hate hospitals, and I was eating about 4000-4500 calories a day for about a week while still exercising normally.

After I'd gained a sufficient amount, I cut down to what a few calculators said that I should be eating to maintain and while I gained a bit more, it pretty much evened out within another week and I'm maintaining fine right now.

Perhaps it's due to the fact that my ED only lasted for 1/9th as long, but that's how it worked for me. Hope that you can find some answers soon, that must be really frustrating Frown

Weight Loss does fiber affect calorie absorbtion? Mar 19 2009

Fiber does not count towards calories, as your body does not actually digest it.  It's basically in one end and out the other...  However while it's in your body it promotes bodily functions based on the type. (insoluable or soluable fiber)
