Good Morning ladies! I know i have been MIA latley, but have been crazy busy. I weigh in at 204.6 lbs as of this morning, havent lost any weight in over two weeks, UGhhh. I suppose alot of it is due to being lazy with going to the gym. I just started my tanning for the summer yesterday. It has been so cold here that it actually felt good to lie in the tanning bed. I went to the club with my daughter on Saturday and drank about six beers, but on a good note i did not gain.

I will try and update more often, everyone is doing great!

Good Morning ladies..Happy belated Valentines day. I didnt have a significant other so i went to Vanity and bought me a new pair of jeans...So cuteLaughing I have a flat **** so i tend to buy the ones with the flap pockets on the back so it at least looks like i have some junk in my trunk. I swear when i lose weight that is the first place i lose it from.

Our contract was up at work yesterday and we had to vote on the new one or Strike, Good news is, we accepted the new one and got a sign on bonus. One of the guys i work with surprised me with this little singing stuffed dog for V-day, then we went to the gym together from the meeting. My weight is down to 205lbs, although i have made some bad food choices this week along with a 6 pack of beer last night. This week is going to be better and i intend to go to the gym today and all this week.

I did however get very upset while shopping for jeans. Aeropostile and American eagle both did not carry a size 14 longs in there stores!! That makes me so dang frustrated. Although i  can get into some 13's they are always too short. I told my daughter i feel like Ruby (that girl with her own show trying to lose weight). Im a big boned girl and im tall so when shopping for jeans i think i need a xanaxUndecided

Hi Ladies. I had a Doctor appt. this morning, was a monthly follow up on new Blood pressure med, and cholesterol, both of which are perfect they tell me, but get this, the same scale at the doctors office that was 7 lbs off and had me a wreck last month, only today to find out i am actually down 7 lbs in a month. My daughter is his nurse and she said the scale is still 7 lbs off, so i have actually lost that much. WOOO HOOO. Made my whole day.

Im sorry for the girls going through there periods, I had a complete hysterectomy in my late 30's and i dont regret that decision at all, except that i think that is what brought on some of my weight gain.

Shizzi- Dang i wish i lived close to you so you could drag my butt to the gym. I have missed going for like two weeks, although i am still eating ok and still losing, I know i would feel much better if i work out. I am paying 10.00 a week and not going. It has been so cold here and i have been using that for an excuse....EXCUSE no more, Plus a real cute guy that works out every day is giving me a wake up call in the morning so i can get my butt outta bed (wink) I work 2nd shift and i am a night owl, would be in luck if the gym was open all nightSmile

Hello ladies, how is everyone? I am not doing that great, I put back on two pounds last week, but have managed to get back to 209 lb's this weekend. I have been making some bad food choices (McDonalds) etc. My new guy friend is acting kinda weird and so i have been eating like a mad woman.

I did however pick up the book called "Why men love B#*@"S" and i swear it makes so much freakin sense. I am such a nice girl and i need to be a B#$@* i guess. I have been putting off the gym due to the male species, and as of tomorow morning, that is the end of that. I NEED to excercise.

I can relate to weight talk with people who get so tired of hearing me rant about it. I get all hyped up and excited and they just look at me with that "would you shut-up face".Sealed

OMG, it is two thirty in the morning and im checking in..lol. I am working from 3:30 to midnights now so i find myself sleeping half the day away cause i stay up all freaking night!!Undecided And with that comes the night time snacking. I have been so so so bad about not going to the gym, over two weeks now i think. I am still on track with my calories though, that is UNTIL tonight, was very stressful at work and i cracked under the pressure and stopped on the way home for two slices of pizza. I am over it now though..i wanted it, i ate it DONE! I am still losing weight though without the excercise, down to 208 lbs as of this morning. My new guy friend is still staying in touch and im pretty ding dong dang happy these days...

Filed my taxes tonight and just been relaxing and catching up on everyone's progress. GOOD JOB LADIES! I would like to respond to everyone by name, but i cant remember everyone and i dont want to screw up and leave someone out by mistake and risk hurting someones feelings. I am going to have to go to bed soon though or i will find myself standing with the refrigerator door open trying to find something to snack on. My daughter (25) and sister drank all my beer on saturday and i cant tell you how badly i wanted to throw a few back, but i refrained somehow.

I also weigh every morning, it keeps me on track i think. I bought some of those weight watcher's popcicles with the cookie crumbs on the outside,,,man they are good and not to bad on the calories either.

Mrs. D I just had to tell you that you look fabulous in your new pic.Laughing very pretty.

I am down to 209 as of this morning and weightloss has been slow due to me slacking on my excercise. I had a dinner date last night with someone i like very much, so i ate rather light yesterday so i could eat my meal. It is nice to know that he likes me just as i am,but he also said that i look just fine...   :)

Hello, I am hoping that it is not to late to jump in here. I'm Lisa and i am 43 yrs. old and here are my stats

Starting weight was 226 (started in November )

Current weight as of today 210 (jan. 12 2009)

 Goal weight is 175

I am almost 6' tall as well.

I have lost some weight over the past three years, but just starting counting my calories in December. I feel great and am learning to eat healthier. I use to drink about 8 cokes a day, ( i was truley addicted) I weened myself off slowly and got past the headaches, so i am happy to say i have not had a coke in about three months and i dont miss it! I work full time in a factory so i am on my feet all day and lifting heavy things as well. I do belong to a gym, but i procrastinate over going alot.

I have an excercise ball at home so on the days i miss going to the gym, I pull out my excercise ball and find a workout on youtube.

You all are doing great, and together we can do this one pound at a time!

Weight Loss Any other 6' + tall women out there? Jan 08 2009
07:27 (UTC)

Hello everyone, I am 5'11 1/2 , basically i say 6' depending on my day..Im tall thats all i know. LOL. I started my diet two months ago at what i can average 226lbs, as of today i am 214 give or take a pound, my scale cant make up its mind. My biggest opstical was drinking cokes, but im done, kicked the habit last month so i think that was a big factor in my weightloss thus far.

I buy my jeans at old navy size 14 longs, I am 43 by the way. I actually dont think i want to weigh 160, i was 145 in highschool and looking back that was too thin for my liking at that age. I would be content at 170. I want curves too, but the more weight i lose my butt is deflatingUndecided. Been working on that with squats and an excercise ball.

Nice to meet everyone

GGGRRrrrr, I AM SO FRUSTRATEDYell! I can't for the life of me find a scale that is right! My doctors scale has been off since the get go four years ago, he finally admitted to that last week, the gym's scale is always off because people let there kids jump on it, again verified this morning, and the dang digital scale i just bought last week gives me a different reading within seconds of each other....OMG i am seriously about to have a breakdownCry. I am trying so hard to eat right, excercise etc., but it is not working. I dont know if i am undereating, or overeating, cause i cant get an accurate weight! I am keeping my calories just at 1600 like it say's and i know sometimes i may be off by a little bit. I dont eat out at all, i dont eat candy, chips, no soft drinks..ughhhh. I am sorry i dont want to bring anyone down, i am just so upset right now.

Yes i know i have lost weight as i can tell by some of my jeans, but how am i suppose to keep up with this if i dont have a starting point. New years eve i had a breakdown crying jag after comming from a doctor's appt. when i found out his scale has been wrong all these years.

I did finally get my butt out of bed this morning and go to the gym, I worked out on the treadmill for 30 min doing HIIT then the almighty stair master. The gym was packed to the hilt. I go to a very popular and expensive gym..DO YA THINK THEY COULD HAVE A SCALE THAT IS ACCURATE! All i want is to see the progress on a scale at least once a week.

I know some of you are using an excercise ball, i watched a class at the gym today while on the stairmaster and i watched them hold the ball against the wall in the middle of their back then squat making sure the ball didnt fall. My daughter got me one for x-mas along with the stretch bands.

Also i work a very physical job, on my feet all day and lifting, at a factory so its not like i sit around all day, but i suppose maybe my body has just adjusted to that activity..   Let me go get some water and try to evaluate this before i go crazy..ughhhhhhhh

Hello all, sorry i havent been around much these past two days. I had to go back to workUndecidednot complaining, just happy to have one. I work in a factory, lifting, bending, twisting, turning....am on my feet the whole 8 hours, and sometimes 12 or 16 hours.

I enjoyed the two week break through the holidays, but was really ready to get back to work. All i had been doing at home was sitting around. I did make it to the gym a few times, but got sick after x-mas so that set me back about four days. A guy at work that goes everyday to the gym, had his vehicle broken into while he was in the gymSurprisedyesterday, they looked on the video tape and the guy did it in a matter of minutes, broke open his door with a screwdriver and wham, stole his gps system and a pocket knife his mother had given to him. Makes me leery of going up there myself now. It is a very big place and people always comming and going, im sure they have lookouts inside for them..what a cryin shame.

maybe they should have turned loose all the girls from kickboxing class on his ass..LOL

I am still trying to eat only good foods, although i am pretty much guesstimatting my calorie intake. I gained a pound this morning, or so it said, of course i have to keep moving my scale so my granddaughter wont play on it.

I know this weight is a slow process, and i never notice what i have lost, but a guy a work tonight says "dang lisa, youve lost alot of weight" I snapped on him and said oh dont say that, i have been trying so hard and the scales are against me,,,,lol, poor guy didnt know what to say, so i of course apologize and explained that i was not use to getting compliments. We can all do this one calorie at a time. (cheers with the water bottles)

Ughh, i re-read this and had lots of spelling errors..lol, must have been my sleeping pill kicking in.

Hi all, Im lisa and i just started this healthy lifestyle two months ago. I am 5'11 and have lost 15 lbs in the past two months. Current weight is 213 lbs.

I had a complete hysterectomy in my middle 30's and i am 43 now. I dont regret not one day of having that done, but i do believe it put some extra weight on my already existing overweightness..lol, I know that aint a word. I am from the south so forgive me. I am taking this one day at a time and spend most of my non-working hours on this site to keep me focused.

I really need to workout more, wish there were someone here to kick me out of bed in the morningsUndecided. I do very well once i get to the gym, but sometimes getting there leads me to alot of procrastinating.

No i dont think he is purging, (not sure if that is the word i was looking for) I just dont think he is eating right, In fact i know he isn't and he is depressed and has been since we broke up. I realize i have talked to him about all of this until i am blue in the face, and now he has just shut me out it seems. I will pray for him, and try to encourage him to seek medical attention, but right now i am just going to stay quiet and see if maybe he will absorb some at least of what i have said.

I made the decisicion to change my way of eating and a healthier lifestyle and i am sticking with it 100%. I am not seeing much of a weightloss this week, the scale is fluctuating between one and two pounds, but i have been off work almost two weeks, and finally going back today. (bad as i hate to.lol) And i havent made it to the gym since new years eve either. I am a big slacker on going to the gym, although fine once i get in there. I also have a pilates dvd and i tried doing that, but it really hurts my back when i do those excercises.

I work 2nd shift in a factory and i am on my feet all day, bending, twisting, and lifting heavy motors so i am constantly concerned when it comes to hurting my back. ( i have alot of arthritis in my back, and body) I have been very lazy these past two weeks, but vow to get back to the gym as well.

Thanks so much for all the reply's and concern.Laughing

Hey lynn, I know very well what you mean. My father is famous for making me feel bad. As far as my ex, he did have a hernia repair i think about a year after, and since he is a veteran they would not pay for a tummy tuck, so his doctor at that time just kinda did him a favor while repairing the hernia he cut all the excess skin on his stomach away and just sewed it back together, mind you he has no belly button now, but he knew this before going into surgery. He actually was diebetic before he had the Bypass, but hasnt had that since his last visit, also has thyroid problems that he does take medication for.

I always talk to him on a daily basis, even if it is just a "hi how are you" but not yesterday, didnt hear a peep out of him at all. I know he was ok as his myspace page just stated that he was "quiet".

I have a temper just like yours..LOL, i swear we could be twins. I did nursing as a med-tech for 13 years, so the nurses nor the doctors like me when i come for a visit.

Thankyou for the response's and yes I am sure he just loved me for who i was.

I am very concerned about him, but cannot get him to listen to meYell! He eats ALOT, all day long. He looks terrible and his teeth are going bad, cheecks are sunk in, he just wont listen when i tell him he needs a checkup with his doctor. He of course expels alot of what he eats shortly after and depending on the type of food he ate. After his surgery his follow up doctor told him that one flintstone vitamin would be sufficient, as i can hardly beleive that, but then again he does not eat alot of healthy foods where he needs to be getting his nutrients and vitamins from. He also had cancer when he was in his 20's, in his 40's now, and that concerns me as well.

Weight Loss Question about burning calories.. Jan 03 2009

The whole calorie thing makes my head spin sometimes. I just yesterday read every piece of information on the site about counting calories, carbs, fats, etc, and before i knew it i was like my gawwdd how will i ever keep all of this straight..lol.

I started my healthy way of eating two months ago. I stopped drinking cokes ( I was an addicted to about 8 a day) completley kicked the habit after about two weeks of tappering off. I gave up fast food and am just eating healthy and counting calories. I have lost almost 15 lbs. so far and i feel great. I also belong to a gym and try my best to go on a regular basis.

Everyone is different and I do agree that you have to just find what works for you through trial and error.

It will come, and you will glow. I wasn't really seeing it either, so what i do is take pictures about every two weeks and post them on my myspace page so i can really see a difference. My pants are also very baggy, mostly in the rear end, not exactly where i needed to lose, but i will take itKiss My belt also helps with that, as i keep having to use a different hole.

Keep up the good work and reap all the rewards. YOU CAN DO IT!

LOL, No i really dont prefer to have something up my crack all day..haha. As far as a bra, I have never been properly sized to know exactly what size i wear, I just know i have trouble finding the right size, and i absolutley Hate an underwire, which is where my problem lies i suppose. The wire hurts me.

I just started wearing a belt a few months ago, I am in a size 14 jeans. When i first put the belt on it would only go in the first hole, now i am proud to say that i am in the fourth to fifth holeLaughing

I am currently losing about a pound a day so far, but i know that is only going to last so long. I am trying to keep my calories at about 1600 max. I didn't make it to the gym yesterday or thursday, but on a mission to get my tail in there today.

Also i made some turkey burgers in the oven, a little salt and pepper and some minced garlic. and they were a complete success! Very good, and my daughter who is 25 yrs. old said they were better tasting than a regular burger. She hates that i am on this diet as she lives with me, but she is learning to live with my changes.

My granddaughter will be comming home from her dad's visit today so i need to go and hide my yogurt..lol. 4 years old and a complete yogurt thief.

Thanks so much for all the great support. I belonged to another site and nobody ever replied to me, rather clickish and only a few would support each other, sad really.

I just went to the doctor this week and i was up by 7 lbs...NOT! I questioned the doctor and he said it was off by 7 lbs, well what the heck, so actually i dont even really know where i started with weight loss, the gym that i go to has the same issue, i questioned them as well, and theirs is not accurate eitherSurprised

I bought my own the other day, just a plain ole digital one and seems to work just fine.

Weight Loss What was your breaking point? Jan 03 2009
00:06 (UTC)
6

For myself, I did not gain weight until my thirty's and i guess it just kept creeping up over the years. I have never really liked what i see when i look in the mirror, not to mention the weight. I have four sisters, all tall, and all thin. I am almost 6' myself, but my breaking point was a photo that was taken with my sisters and me looking like the odd ball.

I am also single, and although i am not doing this for a man, I know that if i dont take care of me and love myself, then nobody else will either. I have the most wonderful granddaughter and another on the way, so i want to be around for a very long timeLaughing

I just started this journey in late October and have lost 14 lbs so far. I cut out cokes (addiction of drinking about eight a day for as long as i can remember) but no more, i have kicked that habit! I eat out maybe once a week, and i just started eating healthier. I got off topic didnt I, sorry.

This is somthing that i can control and so far im doing pretty good..Laughing

Checking in.  I made it through new years eve with only two beer's, but then again, I stayed home and was alone.

My goal weight personally would be about 170, although the stats say i should be 160-165. Hell, getting under the 200 mark would be a milestone for me. I am watching my calories keeping them at about 1500 a day and so far i have lost two pounds a day since i last posted on here. I am sitting at 213 as of today, and not complaining.

If i could just get out of these size 14 jeans, they are loose in the butt, where i wish the weight was not comming off of..lol
