Hi Every one!

Thanks for all the support, it is nice to hear. Today was a great day again, I made my lunch for work and stuck to the program and drank all the water I was supposed to.

Moon those exercises look tuff, I belong to a gym too, my problem is finding the time to get there. I love free weights, your exercise where the weight is above your head do you start with the weight at your side?

My B word for food today is brussel sprouts! Tiny cabbages I really love those!

I have a long way to go to catch you all in the work out area as well as food choices I am glad you like to share, I learn something new everyday.

It is nice to see other golfers here too, I am soooooo bad but still have fun! Curt and I play on a couples league in the summer. It is called hit and giggle league. It is just for fun and always a team effort. Sometimes the name of the game could be divorce, some folks take the game so serious. I am never going to play with Tiger or Phil so I just want to have fun.

Isn't that a song girls just wanna have fun? I can't remember who sang that but it would be a good them song for me.

I would love to share low cal recipes I need to dig out all my cook books I remember having some really great recipes in them. Something else I can do on the week-end. My weeks are so busy with Renee and her  stuff and my job and husband and dog I forget about me sometimes. Curt told me he would be willing to take Renee sometimes but I am such a Mom I want to make sure everything goes right. I am sure he could handle it hmm maybe I just like the control :>)

We seem to be in a heat wave in Oregon next week we are going to be up to 55 degrees!! For us that is a heat wave this time of year. And we are not supposed to get any rain.

So it is almost my bed time so I should go take care be safe and strong!

HI All,

I have had the best day!! I came up with an idea for the owner of the company to have lunch with a few employees once a month. He loved the idea and so did everyone who got an invitation to go! I love it when ideas come together. I hope it goes like I am thinking it will. The first lunch is Monday, I'll let you know.

My food intake was good in calories not so much on any other level, but I went to my favorite burger restaurant with Curt and Renee (husband & Daughter) and I had the Salmon with a salad and veggies not my normal 1/2 lb burger with the works bacon cheese etc.... I even drank water and not diet soda! I did have to really talk to myself and it worked!!

beb sorry to hear about your brother. My 55 year old brother had his second heart attack 2 months ago, that is what really kicked me in the butt. I don't know if I could handle losing him, like you and your brother, we are very close.

snow I do feel very blessed living in Oregon when I was younger I could go skiing during the day and go to the coast to party with my friends that night. I doubt I could do that today but I still love the outdoors.

Chris camping, biking and hiking are my summers! I my plan is to be able to do more this summer than last summer. it is so great, and my dog (oh I forgot to tell you all about him) loves to go with me. Your family sounds like my husbands. they had 4 kids then none for 10 years and then had 5 boom boom boom. My husband and his brother are only 11 months apart.

I am going to work on my profile this week-end I will even try to up load some pictures. I don't know if I have any fat pictures I tend to run from the camera and besides I am usually the one behind the camera.

OK so I wish I could come up with a great B food that is healthy and nutritious, just because I really wanted that burger tonight but the good news is that the salmon was very good.

Time for this old kid to hit the hay, early morning tomorrow, I try to make sure I am available for all the shifts at the plant so I go in early sometimes and work late other times. So good night all, chat at ya tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

Wow we have a lot to say today so I might as well add my 5 cents. I am so impressed with how you all keep everyone straight I suppose I will get there but for now I am just going to have to go a single post and hopefully answer all your questions. So here goes, I will be 53 in May, I have been carrying around my own personal summer for oh about 4 years, my poor husband has to sleep in a refrigerator at night but its that or deal with me……LOL I live on the west coast in Oregon right now it is cold and wet most of the time but that is what creates all of our beautiful green mountains. I live about an hour from the mountains one way and the beach about an hour away on the other side.  We are still foster parents we are raising a little girl that is developmental delayed but has the biggest heart and the funniest attitude, she is keeping us young and since she will always be a kid she will be keeping us young for a long time!

It sounds like you all have great support around you like I do that is so great for all of us!! Lovely, lucky women we are!! I guess I need to work on my profile because nothing is showing up, I will take that on this week-end.

I don’t have many recipes for low cal eating, so I would love it if you all shared with me some good ones.

I did look at your pictures Snow woohoo you did great!! Girl you are a great inspiration for me.

I told my 22 year old daughter about this site and told her how you all were so supportive and the fun I am having reading your posts and sending off mine. She laughed and said that I was now doing what she has been doing for years, ok so I am a little slow.

I celebrate every year I get older! I love the fact that at 52 I am still learning gaining experiences in life. I love having all my experiences and life education, I think I have a PHD from the college of life!! I look forward to the next birthday!

Ok I that is about all for tonight my little bit of time for myself is almost over and I need to hit the hay. Talk to ya all tomorrow.

HI All,

You are all very nice welcoming me into the group and I really appreciate that. I think I have set up my profile and for those of you that asked here is my story:

I have always been the “big” girl so of course everything I have done seems to be big. I tend to be a bit of a clown and was the BEST party host for years!! 22 years ago the partying had to go and I have been in recovery for every one of those 22 years. I can still throw a mean party they are just somewhat different. I have helped raise 15 kids. My husband and I adopted our daughter when she was 6 and we didn’t want her to grow up without other kids because we both have large families, I have 4 siblings and my husband has 9, so we became foster parents and have had 15 kids for a good part of their lives. We are now raising a little girl who is developmentally delayed but she is a hoot and we love her dearly. Our daughter is grown and has blessed us with a wonderful grandson who I adore and it seems he adores me too. I love to make people happy so of course my work life has always been helping people. A little social service and non-profit but I figured out early that there was no money there so I went into Human Resources and found my calling. It is a perfect mix of professional and helping others so I am very content doing this. I did lose my job in July 2007 that was very difficult but the economy was starting to crumble and I was a regional hr person and that was the first job to go. It was tough finding a job again, even my positive “it’s all good” attitude even feel a little, it took me a year! Today I have the greatest jpb in human resources, I have some clout but no real responsibility for anyone and I am loving it. I am working at a cabinet manufacturer and we are actually making money right now and that is this economy is good news. All the time I have worked I have gained and lost @40 lbs up and down I could never really keep it off. I was doing great before I lost my job I had kept the weight off for about 2 years but of course the job lose kept me home I love to cook and bake so of course back came the lbs and lack of motivation to do anything about it. I had all the time in the world to work out make better choices in meals I cooked but I think I needed the comfort of the gravy, bread pastry etc…. I took a flower delivery job just to get me out of the house before my current job but I was so out of shape and over weight I could barely handle it. I have been in my position now since Aug and I now need to get back to getting in shape and losing the weight again. I know I can do it and I like the idea of support like this since I have very little time during the day but getting on the computer in the evening and logging in the food and exercise and communicating with others that are in my same boat so to speak seems to be a perfect fit for me. I have just started so no loss yet but I must be doing something right because my legs are killing me tonight!! I used to have a trainer that I worked with I called her my trainer girl, she made working out fun,  I ran into her at the gym today and she was so great with encouragement glad to see me and encouraging. I love the kind of pain that I am feeling tonight it makes me know I am making changes!!

I have a great husband who always tells me he loves me no matter what weight I am and really means it. He is supportive when I am dieting and he supports me when I am fat but omg I am sooooo much more fun when I am in shape and weighing around 170. I am active all the time and when I am healthy I can do even more. I golf, camp, ride bicycles, LOVE VEGAS, baseball and am a University of Oregon Duck football fanatic!!

I hope I have answered everyone’s questions probably that and then some! OK I tend to go a little over board. Thanks for welcoming me and I will check in every evening getting to know all of you too.

Hey Thanks Gals,

rebbex love the emotions you use!

I am feeling energized with this site I have been entering all the data and taking the tests heck they all tell me what I thought about myself but great to get confirmation.

I live in Oregon and it is very cold here right now so not alot of motivation to get outside. I belong to a gym so I have no excuse not to exercise I went today and I know my legs are going to be sore tomorrow.

I don't know you snow but if I ever fit into a size 3 I must have been 3!! You go girl!

Time for me to go pile on the blankets and get some sleep. I'll be back Monday PM. Hope you all have a great day!

It is so great to see women over 50 groups here, sometimes I think I am the oldest person on earth, I work around so many young folks. It is all good though I am also more experienced so it balances out. This is the first time I have used the internet for support inmy weight loss. I have done the WW thing and it works really well but at this time in my life I really need to be saving all the money I can.

I think that I have gained and lost the same 40 lbs @ 6 times, and here I go again, this time I hope it sticks. I was unemployeed for over a year and stayed home cooking baking and not going to the gym. So of course that same 40 lbs came back to find me!! I am now employeed again at a great place that is actually making a profit right now, I got really lucky!!

Any way I look forward to learning from all of you.

HI everyone, this is my first time using the internet thing for losing weight, I was excited when I saw the over fifty post. Most of the comments are fun to read, it sounds like a lot of you have been here a while. I think I have lost and gained the same 40 lbs about 6 times in the last 8 years, and here it is again!! I have started again but I am going to do this differently not drugs just good old fashioned eating less and exercising more.

As for my hair I have been dying it since I was @ 40 sometimes I go in and say I want something fun and sassy so my stylist has a little fun and I look different for a few weeks. This last time I took my high school picture in and said can you make my hair that color again and she did, I think I look younger now.

My life has had a lot of ups and downs over the last 4 years I have lost 2 jobs due to shut downs and finding a job after 50 was not an easy thing to do but I am glad to say that I have been working the last 4 months and love my job!!! I have been married to the same person for 28 years and have 2 daughters and a soon to be 2 year old grandson who is the light of my life!

I tend to live in a rainbow world finding good and joy in everything that I do, even when things seem not to be so bright. My friends call me the perpetual positive B. Any way I hope I am welcomed here and that maybe I can add value to your lives as I am sure that I will gain value from all of you.
