I used to be like those girls.  I never made blogs or whatever because I didnt want others to know about my extreme methods.  Honestly, my mind was so messed up by then, I really didnt care. At that point, I didnt do it for guys, to look hot, or even for health.  I did it just because...I think I was addicted to it.  Losing weight made me feel good, and was really the only thing that did.  I am recovering now, and hate that those websites are allowed, but its still a hard struggle.  I think the disease just messes up your mind so much, and there were times where I wished I could "just eat", but wanting it wasn't enough.  I would just reccomend staying far away from those sites, they are sick and you don't want to be exposed to any of those crazy habits.  I dont think we can change people like this.  They have to WANT help, and unfortunately many of them don't.  I look back and see how crazy it was, but for some reason at the time, it made me feel like I belonged. But I don't want to belong with people like that ever.

Im struggling to recover from anorexia as well and I have the same problem.  Its like I forgot what it feels like to be hungry or full.  If I have a stomach ache or dont feel well I dont know if its because Ive eaten too much or not enough.  Its so confusing. Sometimes I think I should stop eating if I think Im full but usually thats before Ive consumed enough calories.  I guess I just have to retrain my body some way.  I set certain times during the day and I usually try to eat regardless if I think Im hungry or not.  I guess thats what you really have to do to make sure your getting the right amount of calories.

My favorite is probably Luna bars.  Nugo are also good, but I can't get those in my area.  My favorite luna flavors are dulce de leche, cookies n' cream and chocolate peppermint stick. The Luna Sunrise flavors are also good.  I also really like most of the kashi bars, but be careful because some of them were recalled recently.  Pure Protein are good but kind of expensive.  Quaker makes some good granola bars too.  I eat them as snacks.  They're convenient and  portable and a lot healthier than may other snacks.

I also need to gain weight and love pb&co. Its nice to get some variety in peanut butter. I'e tried almond butter, but I prefer peanut butter. PB&co has lots of flavors.  I like the dark chocolate and also "the bees knees" which is mixed with honey.  I dont care for the cinnamon raisin.  I've never tried the others, but think I'm now persuaded to try the white chocolate!

Foods Strange (but good) French Fry Replacement Feb 07 2009

I like french fried made with butternut squash much better than regular french fries.  You could add cinnamon or parmasean cheese to them too. They are really good with catsup too. I first tried the recipe after finding it from hungry-girl.com.  Lots of great recipes there!

Well, Im in recovery from anorexia and should probably gain like 30 lbs just to get to the lower end of healthy.  I have come to the conclusion that I cannot eat 100% healthy all the time and still get enough calories.  I dont have time to always cook homecooked meals and I cant afford to buy all organic foods.  I dont think theres any way a person "should" eat because people have different lifestyles and have to fit their diet into their lives.  It does scare me that people always say that processed foods make you fat, but logically I know that the only reason processed food has such a bad reputation, is that people eat way too much of it and build their diets around this type of food.  I figure as long as I eat 80-90% healthy, I should be ok.  One of my biggest problems has always been the fact that I am so scared of certain foods.  Im trying to learn that food is not something I should be afraid of.

What has helped me eat more is things like peanut butter, and like others have said, denser types of bread.  I like pumpernickel and also grainy types of bread. I also drink a lot of milk, and eat dried fruit/trail mix type stuff.  I eat a lot of peanut butter, and buy the natural kind, and love dried fruit and stuff like that, which is all healthy.  I also love dark chocolate for snacks sometimes.  I do eat things like crackers/granola bar type things just because they're easier. I try to buy healthier brands like kashi.  Probably what has helped me the most is peanut butter/nuts and switching from skim milk to higher calorie milk.

Sorry if this isnt much help, I used to feel just like you and became obsessed with eating healthy food 100% of the time and never eating "treat food," like cookies or ice cream. But thats not always realistic so Im trying really hard to become more open minded about food.

Well, I dont wanna say too much because I was told I was triggering and my other account was deleted.  If I was triggering then there would be tons of other posts I read on these boards that would be more triggering. I really just dont understand because my posts had nothing to do with pro-ed habits or anything like that.  Im just trying to get help and I feel like Im trying so hard and just trying to talk to other people who actually know what Im going through.  Where I live there are no support groups or anything, Ive gotten such mixed advice from doctors, its just so confusing.  But I wont post about my problems anymore on here because I dont want to get kicked off.  If I had known my posts were so triggering I never would have post them.  I was just looking for advice that I couldnt find anywhere else, but I wont do that anymore.  I Guess its just up to me to get better on my own.
