Thanks all. I have started to up my calorie intake as of today. After breakfast, am snack and lunch I am at 795 calories and 23 fat grams. All I have left is my pm snack and dinner. Well see how many calories I end up with. But I am so full. I feel like I did when I used to sit here and eat junk food all day. Like I really over ate. I have been trying to drink more water though so Im sure that plays a part in it as well. THanks for all the motivation. It really is what I needed to hear right now. Not giving in yet.....I still have a long way to go....Just can't wait til I can get down into the 220's instead of stuck here in 230 land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

When I am working out, I do a 20 minute workout a day and thats about it. The rest of the day is spent doing light house cleaning and laying around or on computer. How in the world should I be eating 1820 calories a day when most of the day is spent doing nothing..... I am by no means starving myself. I am never hungry as I do eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I guess thats why I dont understand the eating more calories cause Im not hungry with what I am eating now...... |

Okay so I went back in to the calorie calculator and this is what I got for my stats: You should consume about 1315 calories a day to reach your goal weight of 198 lbs by June 15, 2009. So it says 1315. So really my calorie intake is not that off. I end up with between 1100-1250 each day. So with that.....how many fat grams should I be having a day? |

THe diet that I am currently on is from freediets.com. It is a 1300 calorie diet that I have been going by as I enjoy the foods that are in it. I am really confused by all of this. It has been really hard for me to get in all of the 1300 calories, let alone add more to it. And I don't understand how adding more calories and more fats to my diet will help me lose weight? When it comes to figuring all this out on my own, is where I get really frustrated and feel that I can't do this. Given the reason I went with a diet plan that was already wrote out and all I had to do was eat the food. |

I have not done the bootcamp workout but I did just buy the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred workout and have done level 1 for the last 2 days. My entire body is sore and the tops of my thighs are really bad. Very hard to put pressure on them and set up and down. If you are not used to that kind of workout then you will be very sore. I also am following a 1300 calorie diet and have gained 2 pounds since I have started working out as well. I was told by others here that this is due to water retention from your sore muscles. Dont be alarmed if the scale goes crazy for the next few days. I did !!!!! Good luck and keep posting how you are doing with the workout...... |

This is what it says for calories with it being on sedentary for sw of 234 and a goal date of mid june to get to 198: You should consume about 1395 calories a day to reach your goal weight of 198 lbs by June 15, 2009. Does this sound right???? |

Also with just starting wroking out, should I be doing this everyday or is it better to start out 2-3 times a week. And do I need to up my calories now that I an doing the workout or what I am getting enough for wanting to lose weight? |

Is that why I feel so swollen today as well? When I started the workout I did cut out all of my diet pepsi and now drinking pretty much just water through out the day. I have not felt this swollen since before I started this diet. Am I drinking to much water? And my muscles do hurt badly. I am not used to doing much of anything but sitting around and being on this computer before I started this. Well I do clean the house but not much more then that. I am a stay at home mom so dont get out to much unless doing something with my kids........ SO the weight gain is normal then? That is good to hear. I feel like all the hard work to get down to 232 was for nothing as it is coming back. (At least I feel this way with being so swollen) |

Hey all.....I am so on board with you guys. I have been looking for a group like this. I am 34 years old and 5' 5" tall. My SW was 241 on Jan 2. As of today I am down to 234. I am very excited about this as I have waiting so long to lose the weight.....Let me say that again. I have waited to long to get off the couch and do something about it.Guess we have to be honest about it right....lol... I have been reading all the posts and thought maybe it would be a good idea for the ones that are wanting to chat using the IM, that we put our user name and what messenger we are using. That way we all know and can add each other to our buddy list. I will start this I guess..Here is my user names and messengers: Yahoo- christiecomp Please add me and we can chat about our goals and progress....Im here to lose the weight and get alot of motivation. I want to do this the right way and not gain it back this time.

| Fitness | Has anyone actually done 30 days of 30-day shred DVD? | Jan 09 2009 15:33 (UTC) |

I have just bought and started the 30 day shred by Jillian 2 days ago. Before starting to lose weight and this dvd I was a very sedetary (hope I spelled that right) person and just sat around ALL day long. Before starting this dvd I was down to 232. Now that I have done this for the last few days I am back up to 235. Why???? Is this normal when you start working out like this? I really love the workout even though i really have to push myself through it as heavy as I am. But the weight gain has really got me down and feeling all the hard work the last week with diet and then last few days with workout has been for nothing. I am on a 1300 calorie diet and have stuck to it faithfully.....If this is normal how long does it take to start showing a loss in weight again? |

I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 97'and had a full hystercectomy due to pain and cysts from that and endometriosis back in 01'. I have just started on a 1300 calorie a day diet on Jan 2. I was losing about a pound a day. I was sticking to my diet like clockwork. This was with no excersize. I started doing a 20 minute workout video from Jillian Michaels 2 days ago. Now instead of losing more I have gained almost a pound a day for the last 2 days. Any ideas why and what I may need to do? Very confused by this and now not very motivated to continue. I know I need to lose the weight but feel like all the hard work i just put in the last week has not paid off. Any ideas are greatly appreciated...... |

This site is actually where I find things like that.....When lookng something up search by restaraunt like burger king instead of whopper. I found the calories for the packets of sweet and sour sauce the other day. It does work for me.......... i just went and looked it up again. Here are the ones I looked up quick and found. Burger King, McDonalds, Subway, and Taco Bell. If you cant find things by the item try looking it up by the maker of the item such as kraft instead of cheese. Bad example but I think you get the point Im trying to make. But they are there. |

I think the question here that has not been asked is what are you doing to lose the weight? What kind of diet are you eating, work outs, etc.... Bypass surgery is not the answer for all. As others have said there are the risks with any surgery and you are not learning to eat correctly. This is the first things that needs to be answered. If you are on a 1300 calorie diet you need to make sure that you are eating the right foods and spreading them throughout the day. Not having them all at one time or just in the evenings cause your not hungry in the morning. Check with your doctor to see if there isnt any other underlying problems. I will check back to see if you reply to this. Keep going. Please dont give up. Good Luck..... |

I to understand where you are coming from BUT........are you ready for this......your family and friends can say whatever positive or negative about you needing to lose weight.....until you are ready as you are now it is only words. I have been almost 100 pounds over weight since I had my kids 14 years ago. It took me until now to realize that I am this over weight and need to do something about it. You have to realize that it is all about you and nothing is going to change until you are ready to do something about it. Just take there comments as motivation and let the past and what was said or not said stay in the past. And as far as your ex goes.....Glad to hear that he had the surgery. BUT doesnt really count if he didnt learn anything from it. You are doing your weight loss the correct way.. Keep going and keep your head up high. You will acheive your goal now that you are ready for the next step....Good luck.... |

I agree completely with joejoe. If he loves you, he loves you!!!! It doesn't matter if you are fat or skinny. I was 135 pounds when I married my hubby 15 years ago. Now after 2 kids and 15 years, my highest weight when I started this was 238. It is hard for me at times as my hubby and kids are all thin and have no worries about weight. BUT once again if he truely loves you he wont care. He will fully support you as you need and help out whenever he can. My hubby helps me with my diets and getting food ready. When I make my meals, he eats the same. He just eats more and throughout the day. But doing this and having him eat what I eat makes me feel like Im not different. You need to be truely honest with him and what happens in the end is for the best. He will either understand and support you with open arms or be on his marry way. And if that is what happens then maybe for the best. You need to have people in your life that are going to support your decisions and help you as much as you can. If you contiue to lie it is only going to stress you out and hurt the relationship itself. Nobody wants to have a relationship based on lies. GOod Luck and hope you make the right decision for you. |
