Any ladies out there looking to spot train, please read New Rules Of Lifting For Women!! I just finished the book myself and I learned a lot about how our muscles work in relation to fat loss. Bottom line, you can't spot train! Like lynners said, fat will come off where it wants to. But, the more muscle you have, the more fat you'll burn and the faster you'll metabolize your food. It's win win. |

Hey everyone, Just need to vent a little. I'm off work right now on holiday, but this past week has been anything but a holiday! On Monday, my sister tried to kill herself; and on Tuesday, my parents decided to separate. This has been the hardest week of my life. Wednesday was a great workout day for me though lol I was so angry, I ran so fast that I beat my personal best for the mile on the treadmill. But since then, I've had absolutely no motivation to exercise. All I want is for things to go back to being as normal as possible and to keep up my routines. As that scale starts going up, I'm getting more and more discouraged. I guess I'm just looking for a little motivation. |

Original Post by cpontifex: I agree! I always thought I was a DD, but when I started bubbling out of my bras at christmas I decided to get fitted and I'm a 36GG! I was kinda shocked at the size, cuz I really don't think they're THAT big. I'm kinda sad to see my bust size is going down now that I'm losing weight, but oh well! Now a DD would seem kinda small lol |

Morning! LW: 146.2 TW: 143.6 I dunno whats going on with me anymore lol The day after weigh in last week, I was right back down to 144.4, and have been at 143.6 for the past few days. I have a week off work next week, and I plan on jogging every day I have off. I'm kind of excited to see what will happen with 8 days of exercise in a row (except for monday, cuz I have to go out of town :P). I don't know if it's realistic or not, but I would be stoked if I could be out of the 140's by the time I get back to work. My body seems to have a mind of its own!! Good luck everyone, and congrats to all the losses! |

Hey jodifer, i know what you mean about staying motivated! I didn't lose at all last month and i was ready to give up. I went out and bought the Nike+ for the iPod yesterday and I'm really excited to use it on my jog tomorrow! It's something tangible, where I can track my goals in my hand and make challenges for myself. My eating habits haven't been the best....not enough fruits and veggies lately, so I need all the help I can get!! |

hey jen2010! we weigh in on wednesdays. I started with CC in january, and it told me that i'd realistically go from 160 to 120 between then and september, but every day I weigh in, that date seems to move further away lol Its going to take some time to get used to to find out what works for you. When I first started, I snacked a lot on small things, like nuts and crackers, or diced fruit, to help me feel full throughout the day. Now my body is used to eating breakfast at a certain time, and then feeling hungry again around lunch time, then again around dinner....which never used to happen. The biggest thing is to try and drink all your water for the day....at least eight 8 oz glasses. This will help you feel full and less likely to indulge. I'm not too good with the nutrition label stuff....I've bought a few things that I think look good at the store, and as soon as I put the info in CC I end up with a D-. Yes fat content is important, but you do need to eat some good fats. Have a look around the boards, I'm sure you'll find any more information you may need! |

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. I busted out the summer clothes yesterday....put on my favourite pair of shorts....they don't fit!!! I was sad because I love them but happy cuz they fell right off of me haha I decided that it was time to go pant shopping yesterday. I went from a size 30 jeans to a comfortable 28. I actually bought a pair of those skinny jeans and they don't look ridiculous on my legs lol Good things are ahead! I think this will be my first summer in years that I'll be comfortable in a tank top, or that I won't wear a hoodie every day to hide my belly. See you Wednesday!

Morning! LW: 144.4 TW: 146.2....again!!! Last week had to have been a fluke, cuz the next day I was right back up to 146. I think I need to start counting again. I've been watching what I eat and keeping track in my head, but I don't think it's working....maybe I'm under eating. Good luck everyone!

Just did an hour on the treadmill (did 3 miles)...I think I like it better than the elliptical. I walked for most of it, but managed a run for 15 mins. I have sweat stains on my shirt!! That never happens when I use the elliptical lol Maybe I wasn't using it right, or putting enough effort into the machine. Thanks for all your feedback! |

I'm 5'2" and about 146. I've been floating around 146-147 since early March (I was 160 in January). I average about 40 mins on the elliptical, but on the days where I have nothing else to do, I'll go for an hour. I think I'm going to try the treadmill tomorrow. I've always stayed away from it because I work out early in the morning and it's so noisy...I don't want to wake everyone up! They just might have to suffer for a little bit lol |

Hey tinarey....are you weighing yourself at the same time every day? That could explain the huge leap if you're not. Side note....has anyone else noticed that when one of us has a bad week, we all have a bad week? Same with good weeks it feels like lol It's kinda funny, but at the same time when I'm down I know that there's probably someone else out here feeling the same way I do! I ran on the elliptical for an hour this morning....my skinny sister came downstairs and asked me how long I'd been going for....when I told her she was shocked. She told me she can barely manage half an hour on the machine. That made me feel a little better....just because I'm overweight doesn't mean I'm not fit! |

Morning! I missed last week...I've been feeling really discouraged that I didn't lose more last month...I pretty much stayed within that 146-147 range all month. 2 weeks ago: 146.2 TW: 144.4 I'm so happy to be in the bottom half of the 140's now lol If I can get out of the 140's by the end of the month I'll be thrilled. I took my measurements yesterday and I've lost 5 inches off my body since February. Good luck ladies! |

Hey ladies! LW: 147.0 TW: 146.2 I started weight traning this week. I started off with some 5lbs dumbells, but I didn't feel like they were doing anything....so I dug out the barbell from my basement. I've still only got 5lbs weights on either end, but the barbell itself adds a nice bit of weight to it. There's been a few birthdays at work this week, so there's been a ton of cake and other junk food....I've been good, but I was suprised to have lost that much. Todays my birthday, so there's gonna be cake, or cupcakes again lol Have a good day! |

Hey linz! If you do end up going, you could always eat something that'll fill you up before you go out, and drink lots of water when you're there. Although with a chinese buffet, it's kind of hard to limit yourself when you're spending the money to eat at a buffet and when you know it's going to be delicous lol trust me! Good luck and have fun! |

Hi everyone! Hope the weekend is treating you all well :) So after my surprise loss at weigh in on Wednesday, I think I may have gone a little overboard working out that day. I normally just do cardio, but I decided to start adding more to my workout....I started with crunches. I only did like 10, but my abs were kinda sore the next day, but not bad sore. I hopped on the scale Thursday morning and I GAINED 2.5lbs!! Overnight!!! And it's STILL there! Is that much water retention normal? Tonight I'm going out to dinner with my friend for her birthday....of course she picked the worst possible restaurant to go to (Boston Pizza...800 calorie salads!!), so I'm going to be scoping out their menu and nutritional info this afternoon and hope that I'll be good tonight lol Enjoy the rest of your weekend, ladies! |

Hey! Jan 3 - 160 LW: 148.6 TW: 145.8 Shocked....truly shocked. I've been going over my 1250 calories for the day for the past few days, so I thought for sure I wouldn't move THAT much. Maybe I just needed to up my calories a bit to help me get moving in the right direction. I took my measurements yesterday, in a month I lost .25 inches on my chest, 1.75 on my waist, and 1 on my hips. I'm still not seeing the changes, and no one has commented on my weight loss, but numbers don't lie. Congrats to everyone with losses and good luck to those yet to weigh in! |

Hey everyone I decided to step on the scale this morning, hoping for a little hint of what I would be in for tomorrow at weigh in....and i LOST! I was shocked. It got me thinking that I might be dehydrated, so I've got to REALLY try to up my water. I'm starting to feel a little discouraged. I'm seeing the numbers moving, but I don't feel like I'm seeing it on my body. I will be taking my measurements tomorrow, so I could be wrong, but I really don't feel like I look like I've lost almost 15lbs. I've noticed small changes...my legs aren't as muscular as they were a few months ago, my bra feels a little too big, and on Friday my watch made a full 360 around my wrist (it's always just moved around the top of my wrist). I guess I'm heading in the right direction, but I feel like I should have lost some of this belly of mine already. I'm off to work now. Have a good day everyone! |

Happy Monday! I was really bad yesterday. We did inventory at my store yesterday, so I was there from 9am to 930pm. I did really well throughout the day, but when it came time for us all to have dinner.....oh boy. 3 slices of pizza later, someone comes to my office with 4 bags of doritos, 4 bags of mini chocolate bars and a bottle of dr pepper and a bottle of cream soda....GEEZ! I told myself I was going to be good and just have 1 reese's peanut butter cup, but of course I didn't have just one. I probably had 5 by the end of the night and a handful or 2 of doritos. Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to Wednesday! lol Have a good day everyone |

veruca, be careful. 15lbs is a lot of weight to lose in less a month. the faster you lose it, the more likely you'll be to put it back on. i lost 6lbs last month in a week, but its only because i was sick...my weight hasn't moved much since. just stay healthy |

Good morning everyone! LW: 149.0 TW: 148.6 I'll take it! I was a little lower than that Monday and Tuesday morning but I think I was just dehydrated...I only drank about half of my water those days, but yesterday I got almost all of it in! I've been feeling really lethargic, and I haven't been sleeping through the night. That, and the small move in the numbers this week are the motivation I need to get exercising again. I feel terrible and exhausted....all I want is to go to Starbucks, but I will fight the urge! Good luck ladies, and have a good day! |

So I have been out of bed since 430 this morning. I worked until 930 last night, got home, had a bagel, went to bed and slept for maybe an hour. Stuff that happened yesterday at work was keeping me up....I couldn't stop thinking about it! So the 430 mark rolls around and I decide to just get up. Rather than getting on the treadmill like I should have, I sat on my butt and watched Terminator and ate a muffin lol Now I'm going into work an hour early so I can make everyones life a little easier at the store today.
Thanks for letting me vent, ladies! Have a good weekend :D ash |

Hey Nanette...I always find that as soon as I start eating terribly (especially fried foods!), my body revolts! I had a hot dog at the movies 2 weeks ago and I regretted it lol I also find that I'm super sensitive to caffiene now. I used to drink coffee every day, and now even the littlest bit of caffiene keeps me up at night. I had a root beer at dinner last week, I was up all night. Yesterday I had an acai smoothie around lunch, up all night again! Its crazy how quickly our bodies adapt. Being sick sucked. I have zero motivation to get exercising again. The numbers aren't moving on the scale, but I still can't get my butt out of bed in the morning and get going! I was thinking of taking a break from counting, but I know I'll regret it if I start to put on more weight again. 1 or 2 lbs is fine, but anything more than that and I know I'll be mad. I got my hair done...I love it! It's a rich golden brown with copper highlights. My hair is usually black/dark brown, so it's a big change for me. I'll try and get a picture up soon :D Have a good weekend, ladies! |

Hey guys! SW: 160 LW: 149 TW: 150 I'm not surprised. Today was the first day I've exercised in 2 weeks (after being sick, I got my period :P) and I've been eating pretty terribly since about Friday (I had A&W....love those salty burgers lol). But I'm still 10lbs down from my start weight and today I'm going to get my hair cut and coloured as my 10lbs reward. I hope you feel better, v! And good luck to everyone this week! |
