I haven't been able to see her show yet, although i have seen the commercials, and I've read up quite a bit about her.. isn't she just gorgeous? and even though she probably will recieve fitness and nutrition help that most normal dieters won't, i still applaud her... it's really brave to do this on national television in front of thousands of people.

I just use my george foreman grill normally for grilled cheese- i normally use the diet bread fron wonder- 40 cals per slice- and usually 2 pcs of fat free cheese, so the sandwich just ends up being 140 cal, and if u only use 1 pc of cheese it will only be 120 cal- and when i use the grill, the bread somehow has sort of a buttery taste to it, its good!

I do sometimes, some of the frozen meals are good, but u just have to watch the sodium, i bought a couple of boston market tv dinners, and both had over 40% sodium.. i could literally smell the salt on the stuff before i even put it in the mcirowave.. gross!

Weight Loss Question for the women Feb 18 2009
05:33 (UTC)

I know that during my TTOM last month I dieted hard for a straight week previously and gained 10 lbs of water weight- needless to say, i was devastated and sort of derailed my diet.. i'm on it right now, and started a couple a days ago- i've been ignoring it this time around, i heard its good to exercise during your period, so i've started up my exercise routine today, and continue to do so, and hopefully it will go away faster :-)

Weight Loss Healthier snack ideas Feb 17 2009
05:09 (UTC)

i've seen this idea several times, and i've finally tried it.. the whole "baked" apple idea.. at sam's slub they sell 3lb bags i believe of the sliced apples- I'm sure its cheaper to buy regular apples, and to cut them up but this is so convenient- the apples are like 60 cal for 5oz which is about 12-15 sliced apples, and i sprinkle just 1 tbsp of cinnamon sugar(15 cal) and heat it up in the microwave- it tastes so good and its only 75 cal total- much more filling and much tastier than most of those 100 cal snacks out there!

I've been thinking alot about this the past few days, and i actually think its a pretty good idea.. i thought of also doing this like 2 times a month.. just having a day where calories dont count.. i think in the long run it will keep your diet on track..and keep you from derailing.

i fell in love with the propel fitness water.. its so good.. the packets i get- which are usually mixed berry, and kiwi strawberry are 20 cals per packet- they say to put it in 16.9 oz bottle- i tried that new life water 0 cal fuji apple pear drink.. it tastes kind of like a liquid apple, but i don't really care for it.

Feb 1st Weight: 337 lbs

in January I fell off track twice.. and I gained 10 lbs by going from 340 to 350- even after a hard week of dieting, which i think is because of that special monthly "friend" i sort of fell of track after that, i still wrote everything down that i ate- but i've been back on track in full force this week, and I weighed myself and lost 13 lbs.. so, netted a 2lb weight loss for january, hope to be in the 320's by march 1st and also not to fall off the diet this time Laughing

Weight Loss Are you addicted to fast food ? Jan 30 2009

Agreed times a million. There was a point in time where I could have eaten fast food ten times a day. If it had no calories (or even a reasonable number of calories) I could still do it.

What I've started to find is that it doesn't make me feel better or happier. It doesn't fill me up the way a healthy meal would. I feel cranky, guilty, hungry...Just plain unsatisfied afterwards. It doesn't really seem worth it anymore- and if you knew me, you would honestly be suprised by my saying that. Don't forget that you can have everything in moderation- I have a hamburger and fries once a month and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have one slice of veggie pizza once a week, and it tastes so much better than it used to when I ate it every day. Seriously.

If you're really having trouble, you should look up a thread in the lounge- it's called something like "Reasons not to eat fast food" and it talks about gross things people have seen happen in fast food restaurants. Grossed me out so bad I can't even think of going to McD's right now.

You know what.. i didnt realize it until after i watched that documentary- Supersize Me-but the guy was right.. he would feel sick, and or depressed after going there.. i have felt that way too.. its a terrible addiction, i could get fast food and be filled up, but it was alot of fatty kind of stuff, and not to mention its costly too.. so i have been trying to keep eating out at all to a minimum

thats been my problem for a long time as well.. thats the hardest food to stay away from, for me anyway- when dieting- most people say sweets.. not me.. for me, a double cheeseburger from mcdonalds is far more tempting than a brownie or piece of cake anyday.

Weight Loss HELP! Strict dieting, AM workout, and nothing to show for it!! Jan 29 2009

Hey everyone!

I'm new to this but feel like some people on here can really help me!

I've been eating a very strict diet of low cal, low carb, high protein meals. Going to the gym every AM before 9am and before breakfast, taking either a cardio or pilates class twice a week, and have seen no results at all!

Could it be that the once exception I make to this lifestyle is that I allow myself one treat a day?( example: 4 yogurt covered pretzels or some espresso granola or maple glazed cashews)

I'm the most desperate to loose 5 vanity lbs and gain some show stopping muscle tone but all my hard work is falling flat.

Any advice?

it depends on how much you weigh.. the less you weigh the harder it is to burn calories, and it also depends on how much you're eating.. how strict exactly is this diet?

Amen! I was teased in grade school, and it hurt my feelings- by the time i got to junior high, then high school, i learned to be just as snotty as the people making remarks- i remember one time some girl was behind me, saying how fat i was.. i remember telling her.. " i may be fat, but i know i look better than you.. I can always lose weight and you will still be ugly" it was funny, i thought. even her friends snickered a bit- i don't think that girl bothered to make any remarks again!

Okay, so while I'm totally trying to lose weight for myself and for my health (and for really attractive dresses,) it's a complete motivator for me when my roommate (also supposedly dieting,) brings home fast food constantly and refuses to go to the gym because "she just doesn't feel like it."

There's some like...sick satisfaction that I get every time I walk our dog or step onto the elliptical...some kind of "Well, guess who's got the willpower, sucka!" thing.

Ultimately, I want her to eat healthily and go to the gym WITH me...but the fact that she refuses to skip Wendy's and just make a sandwich--or go to the gym instead of sleeping til 4...just makes me feel really smug about the whole thing.

I guess I've never had great sympathy for people who complain constantly but won't do anything.  There are plenty of big women who are happy and confident and don't want to lose a pound--and awesome for them.  Kudos.  Congrats.  But if you spend all your time complaining about wanting to be thin--and refusing to do anything--sorry, I spite you.

I've been big my whole life.  And I've gone through phases of being indifferent and eating EVERYTHING in the world--not caring about my weight, etc...But if I get to a point where I'm unhappy--that's when I step up and DO something about it.  And this time, I'm trying to do something about it for good.

Am I alone on this?  Anyone?  Anyone?

I understand how you feel.. my friend and I are supposed to be on this diet together, and she completely gave up the 3rd day, and I think has been trying to somehow sabotage my diet.. i refused to give in, and the look on her face made me kind of smug when we weighed ourselves and she gained 4 lbs and i lost 10.. so you're definitely not alone!

Foods Saving $ on Food? Jan 16 2009

some of it isnt worth it- i just started buying this diet bread- its 40 cals per slice, and its nearly 3 bucks here for just one loaf- i go thru quite a bit of bread, so when i go and buy more bread tomorrow i will probbaly just stick to the loaf thats only 1 dollar and its just 50 cals a slice- but cheese is a different story- the cheese i used to buy was 70 cals a slice, the fat free cheese i get now is 30 cals a slice, and the price difference isnt really bad.
