As a parent, I can't imagine saying to my kids the things your mother says to you, or talking openly to others about their skin or weight problems.  I hope you come to know that she is taking out her own inner misery on you and that you have done nothing to deserve this destructive treatment. Even though she's the one who needs intensive therapy, it seems unlikely that she is going to reach out for it, so I hope that you get it if it's available to you -- you need all the support you can get. You sounds like a strong, caring, feeling human being deserving of unconditional love. Good luck!

In my neighborhood in Los Angeles there's a supermarket that serves a combined Latino and Middle Eastern clientele. I can go there and fill a cart with fruits, vegetables, grains and lentils for very little money, and there's nothing cheaper, easier to make, low in calories, higher in nutrition and easier to make than homemade lentil soup with lots of carrots, onions and garlic, and if you serve it with rice or bulghur it's a whole protein, too. Add some streamed kale or broccoli on the side, some fruit for dessert, and you're set. I'm sure you can find these ingredients anywhere.

Marshmallows, flavored creamer and processed cheese are basically poison -- leaching your body of nutrients -- giving you a quick buzz that saps your of the sustained energy that will get you through your day. Coffee does the same -- a jolt to the adrenals that leaves you depleted.  Eat fresh things, as close to their natural state as possible. I've been living on raw unsalted almonds, sardines, kale, skinless chicken, apples, non-fat organic yogurt etc. and I'm finding myself stuffed at 1800 calories a day.

There's something you should remember about coffee, which applies to all drugs: however many points of high they lift you above normal, that's how many points below normal they're going to leave you.
