I'm new to CC and new to this forum thing, but this thread fits me like a glove! I have gained about 30 pounds in the last year or two and it isn't all from having knee surgery- it's from drinking too much AND knee surgery :O)

I love my wine, and the wonderful mixed drinks my hubby makes. And generally more than 1. I live in a neighborhood which parties like crazy (every weekend we have pool nite) and we have birthday parties, whatever. Any excuse for a party.....and would you believe we a re all 50-70? My knees are finally doing better and I've decided it's time to lose all this blubber but how to factor in the booze calories is harrrrrd. Maybe only on pool nite and add diet tonic to my wine? I've been cold turkey for 4 days and on CC for 4 also. No DT's Smile, but Saturday is coming and the pressure will be on. The social aspect is difficult for me. Suggestions on that anyone?

Hi, This is my first post so I hope I don't screw it up.

I am 55 and also need to lose 55 pounds. I have also done it before- and every time I do my high gets higher and my low doesn't quite make it. I used to be more active but have has surgery on both knees so the body just doesn't cooperate like it used to. Just found this site a couple of days ago and am hoping it will provide the motivation I need to get at it again.
