The Lounge xp or vista? May 12 2009

XP. Vista takes way too much memory. My boyfriend works in IT and he's trying his hardest to skip rolling out Vista as long as Windows 7 comes out in the next 3 to 5 months. The only computer knowledge I really have is what I pick up from him.

You could try linux. I've heard good things there.

Use aloa vera tablets you can get them at any healthfood place take between two to four of them before going to bed at night and trust me it works all natural too

I use aloe in drink form. It taste really bad so I end up doing a shot or two of it before bed. It really works for me without making me feel uncomfortable like OTC laxatives can.

You should have a blast in Disneyworld. Especially since your children are old enough to take care of themselves.

I'm trying to loose. I've lost about 20ish pounds since January, but I need to loose another 20 or so to meet my goal. And I definitely need more rest, but it's not really an option right now. I love weekends!

Today I remembered about english muffin pizzas - total calories is about 200. So yummy.

When I put my meats away in the freezer I portioned them on into bags (something I normally do anyway) but this time I weighed them and put the grams and calorie info on the bag. Now I don't have to do that step later. :)

For the past 4 work days I've planned to have 1 pop tart pastry. Smores. I've needed one of those by 9pm every night at my desk. It may not be the best way to spend 203 calories, but I balanced the rest of my food around it and it's fine.

I love having the 100 Calorie bagel or english muffin in the morning. I usually toast that while I'm microwaving egg whites, broccolli (or spinach) with some mozz cheese. Sometimes I just make a ham sandwich.

If I don't even have time for that I'll grab a fiber one bar that I can eat in the car, but I usually pack an apple in my purse. Fiber one bars are really filling to me if I've already had food for some reason, but if it's first thing in the morning I'm going to want a snack before lunchtime.

Good luck! If you find that the patch isn't working for you, my mom quit with a pill her doctor prescribed to her. I don' know much about it, so talk to your doctor if your interested.

I would go with not worth it. I cook things in a Wok, and use .5-1tbs of oil to get things going, after that chicken stock. Batches I cook are big enough it doesn't really matter.

This is a great tip! I just started doing that and everything is so tasty and less greasy!

I have direct deposit too and I love it! But in addition to that I started automatic transfers of only like $50 a month the day after my money transfer into my main checking account. I don't even see it, so I don't miss it.

Thanks apricotbunny, the problem is that I live in Italy so the situation is a bit different. I don't know, people don't seem to pay so much attention to calories and such. And as you can imagine the food in restarants are fantastic, pizza, pasta, lasagna but they're anything but low fat. But I think I'll be able to find a way to balance it out.

Tonight I'm going out for a dinner and a movie, let's see how it goes. I would propose to cook at home because like you said it's pretty romantic, but he already reserved at the restaurant... meh, guess this is a good time to talk to him hehehe

Oh goodness. I've spent time in Italy and I would have trouble eating better too. I think I had gnocchi with a spinach cream sauce and half a bottle of wine nearly every night I was there.  Oh and the sandwich shop and dessert place... gelato.... uh oh.

Just something to add....

Some restaurants have their menu/nutritional information online so I've been picking out what I want before I leave the house. I know that non-chains and smaller restaurants probably don't have their info online but I enjoy knowing what I'm eating since I have no idea how they prepared it.

The Lounge POLL: In general, which do you prefer--tan skin or pale skin? Jan 14 2009

I have a pale, skinny guy of my own!

As a red head I have fair skin but I managed to spend 5 days in Egypt without burning my skin! Sure it would be easier to have darker skin so I wouldn't have to worry about sunburns as much, but pale skin is a badge of honor for people who play as many video games and watch as much star trek as i do. Tongue out

I almost bought Milanos yesturday... Tell yourself that you know your body won't feel good after and try portioning out snacks like previously mentioned. I do that for when I go to work, because I sit staring at a computer screen all night. I also think you should make sure you are eating enough good-for-you-foods so your body doesn't feel cravings.

I only had it happen to me once, when I was moving out of my mom's house. I was wearing an empire cut shirt while I was moving boxes and the neighbor (who I didn't like anyway) asked my mom if I should be lifting heavy stuff in my condition. My mom told me about it later and she promised me she told him what's what.

Although now I do think twice about wearing empire cut shirts.

The moment I told my mom I was watching my calories and such she sneered, do you think your fat?!?!? Now my mom has her own health issues and is quite obese and I learned a lot of bad habits from her, but I think she was just concerned about my self-worth.

I just let her know the foods I was eatings and that I'm trying to maintain an healthy intake. It seemed to calm her down a bit.

My stuffed animal friends. I'm extremely sentimental about them. I wouldn't be able to pick just one - they are like family!

If I couldn't keep them I would keep my dad's old hat.

You sound like me, except I have a 94 dodge spirit. I think you can do it all - one step at a time. I know this because I'm doing it now.

I'm a big fan of budgets. I separate half of my income to necessities (food, house, heat, gas) and the other half gets divided mostly equally into money for fun, long term savings, education (to put back into yourself) and investing/charity. You can simplify it to as many categories as you want, but if your necessities is more than half of your income then you are living beyond your means. This way I know that I have 40 bucks to splurge on a movie or a couple of drinks at the tavern. With long term savings I know I can buy a car this year and go to disneyworld.

Before this gets too long winded - finding the right school is important. I also decided to go part time because I NEEDED to work full time. Now I got to a very small art school in the countryside. I decided to go for fine arts because thats what I love. I was going back to school for me. My job and my education are completely different, but most of the people I work with have educations and they all ended up at the job I already have. So don't sweat the post-college job yet. It doesn't matter how long it takes to get your degree as long as your enjoying it while you are there.
