Biggest obstacle to getting healthy. I have Spina Bifida so exercising is hard for me, I also have various other health problems... but the dieting is going well

My fitness goal is 140 lbs

Least favorite household chore... washing dishes

I found it by accident but glad I did

As I said, I have Spina bifida which is a birth defect, I have just recovered from a three year illness that had me in bed the whole time. I am so glad to be moving around again.  I don't get out of the house much so I like sites like this so that I can connect with other people who are doing the same things I am doing.

OK I have three really good recipes for toppings for crispbread and crackers or flatbread.

The first one is 1/2 cup of black olives 1/2cup of green olives, 3 tbsps of olive oil and garlic powder, and salt... I also use Mrs Dash. Grind in food processor. It is so yummy.

Next Take half cup each of walnuts, almonds, and pecans...I have also used pine nuts, and macadamia nuts... any nut is good. Grind nuts in food processor, add 3 tablespoons olive oil and one or two table spoons of bacon bits... I use Oscar Myer ones.

Next Two cups of chopped tomatoes, 1cup chopped cucumber and one green pepper, and one can chopped black olives. 1 Package of real bacaon bits and one envelope of good seasons italian dressing mix and half cup of olive oil and one tablespoon of sugar and two tablespoons of fresh garlic or two teaspoons of garlic powder. Mix is a bowl and let chill for an hour.

All of these keep really well. They are filling and are very good sources of fiber, and healthy fats.  I usually eat four of five crisps with topping at lunch with a drink.  It fills me up, and I stay within my calorie intake.

Thanks for the welcomes. I am glad I found a place to get support for my life style change.   I got some theraband the other day... I am learning to use them. I can at least exercise while sitting down.  I really think I am going to like them.

Hi, I just joined today to. I hope I meet some people who will support my life change. I am human but not that nice sometimes so I plan to become more tolorant... which for me will be hard cause I rarely think I am wrong... just kidding. I am wrong A LOT. But I still need to be more tolorant of other people. I get cranky I guess... but I will try to be less cranky.... maybe it is because it is  4 am and I a up and not sleeping.

I am new to this site. I just joined today. I weigh 264, and my goal weight is 110 by this time next year or longer if it take longer. I am disabled and have been bed ridden for the last three years cause I had a sore on my foot that went to the bone and caused me to get ostemiolitis which is ongoing and not currable. At the moment it is doment but can rear it's head whenever it feels the spirit.  Well, now finally my foot is healed but I am still confined to my house and can not get much exercise. I am eating only 1200 calories a day and it is going really good right now. I am very commited to this so I know that eventually I will get to my goal. I just need the support of people who are in my position.  I do not get out much. so the internet is really my only means to the outside world. I hope I can meet some people here who I can talk to.Smile

Hey, I weigh 264 and I need to loose weight before a wedding in July also. I also am 5' maybe 5' 1 I would love to be your buddy. I need a buddy to. Stuff like this is always easier when you have somebody who understands to talk to. I started my diet on new years day. I try to eat only 1200 calories a day and so far so good. I am not hungry... I also try to eat at least five times a day... two snacks and I don't eat after eight if I can help it. I nap so sometimes I don't make it but I still have not gone over my calories.

Hi,

I am 5' 1 and I weigh 264. I started my diet at the first of the year. I am new to this site, I just signed up. I am comfined to my house most of the time due to my disability... so I need to find support other ways.  I am doing the calorie counting thing and it seems to be going well. I am very commited to this.
