Omg......you gotta try Glucerna Cereal: Crunchy Flakes n' Raisins. 110 cals per serving (3/4 cup), 5 grams of fiber, 1.5 carb exchange, and with a whole bunch of vitamins and minerals. My favorite and super healthy. |

Well I think you just gave me a perfect idea. This will be something I will incorporate in my current diet. My man is simply the most supportive person ever so I don't see a problem at all. To be honest, due to our really busy schedule, during weekdays we plan every night to meet for dinner and to catch up. I drive to his home just to have dinner and then I drive back to my home to sleep. But with this change we can really benefit and use our time for something different. Wow,... I feel really motivated. I am so thankful for you. Thank you. |

wow spoolin. Good job. I guess I'm not that far from your daily meal plan. I have about 3 meals a day (about 300-350cals each) and 2 snacks (125-150cals each). I too like to leave some more calories for dinner time. I guess the difference is that I do eat very late at night. My boyfriend and I usually eat dinner together so I have to wait until he gets off of TaeKwonDo at around 8pm. We sometimes end up eating around 9 and fall asleep by like 9:30. I am not sure how bad this is for my weight loss. I guess I will have to modify this if I see it's hurting my goal. |

Thanks spoolin. You are definitely a motivation. I know bodies work very differently but you give me a good idea of what to look for and what I can do. That 8lbs weight loss is two months is totally doable. From what you said, all you did was 5 days of 30 min work-outs a day and about 1200-1400 cals. Sounds like what I am doing right now. Good! I just started up (again) about two in a half weeks ago and have lost a total of 3 lbs. I am working out at least 5 times a week around 30 minute moderate cardio. I am eating around 1300-1400 a day. I can't wait to see what a difference this does in two months. December is a special month for me so I would love to get back to 120 by then Wish me luck. Again, thank you for sharing and congratulations. |

I'm not exactly sure that this is the correct place to post this question but I'd like to take the opportunity to answer or comment on your questions for I too was there. Now, though, I see things soo differently. Firstly, my questions were not answered by other people. They were answered by the bible itself so I encourage you to keep reading and keep learning. The light will eventually shine. Number 2: God revealed to the Jews no more than he revealed himself to others. Let me explain this. You have to remember that all these people came from the same Adam and Eve, and eventually Noah. They knew the stories....they knew the real God. Many (like many today) felt that if they couldn't see God, then he wasn't real. They went searching for idols made by man and therefore perverted their minds and shoved the light that was once upon them. They knew God, they just didn't want to have faith. The Jews, coming form Abraham, also had a previous knowledge of God but their minds were also perverted from their slavery in Egypt. God chose to shine a brighter light to the Jews not due to any merits of their own, but rather because God wanted these people to be walking lights in the dark world. Examples to others and motivators to leave the idols and come to Him. In addition, it was through that nation that the Savior was going to be born. God reveals......(you gotta read) that these nations (which the Jews were called upon to destroy) were evil and were conscious of their evils and defiance to the real God. They knew God, they just didn't want him as his God. They knew of their triumph walk across the sea, the plagues, all that. None of their gods ever did that. The bible says in Deut 9:5 that they took the lands NOT because they were favored or they were perfect, but because of the wickedness of these nations. When you began to have a personal relationship with God, you will learn that he is just. The bible gives a glimpse of these people's defiant wickedness against God. God is forgiving: ONLY WHEN YOU BOW TO YOUR KNEES FOR FORGINESS. He cannot forgive what you do not regret. He cannot forgive defiance. And come on....just days before this incident He had shown himself in Mnt. Sinai to express the 10 commandments (which forbided idols). He had just spoken to them with thunder and lightning and made a vivid sign of his continual precense. The more light is given to you, the more responibility you have. David was forgiven. God loved David. But the consequences of sin will always be. If you drink and drive, and you kill a person, God is willing and able to forgive you if you repent honestly.. But the consequences of your sin will still be there. God's love is perfect that he lets us pass through fire so we can come out of it as new beings. Don't forget that Jesus suffered horribly and yet He did not deserve it. Why not us?! Again...don't forget that Adam and Eve lived about 900 years. No contraceptives = many children. One of the main reason why Cain and Abel are the only ones mentioned is because here the world experienced the first human death. Such an important thing was important to be mentioned. They were also mentioned as examples of good and evil and a description of the world to come. Read.....I cannot tell you how God will reveal himself to you if you ask. PRAY!. Keep questioning, though. It will give you a stronger and un-moving faith. Best of luck! |

Yeah, I would put my hand on fire for HIIT. It really works. It got me from my constant, non-fluctuating, never-moving plateau of 130lbs to a 128lbs in a matter of about a week and a half. I took a break from exercising and cal counting so I am back at 130. None the less, HIIT is the program I will start up again for I know that it will take me about a week and a half to get back to 128. TRY IT. |

Original Post by outinyonder: Oh, I know what your saying. I'm on the same boat. Having all this info available surely does not mean that I do it all. I do try. I guess my struggle is finding new ways to stay motivated and passing the horrible bridge of plateus. I know I am pretty close to my goal weight so it's been the hardest to see the scale move so slow and still continue being motivated. I know the scale has to move slow if I want to be healthy...and just the fact that the scale is even lowering it's numbers should make me happy. But I tend to lose motivation watching it all go slow. I am not interested in a fast or unhealthy weight loss but sometimes I do wonder how others do it. I've also had my share of binge eating so here is another struggle. Overall, I am very satisfied but I do find myself lacking in motivation. This is where you all come in. I do not work in the nutrition field currently per se. I am currently and Orthotic and Prosthetic fitter for all sorts of patients...but specially those with Diabetes and Mastectomy Amputations. Here is where my nutrition plays a part....advising, providing info, referring, and suggesting foods, exercises, substitutions, etc. Fun stuff. So, out of curiosity, what has been working for you in relation to your weight loss? |

Original Post by outinyonder: You are right, it is a pretty low restriction but the point of zigzagging is exactly that (personal opinion of course and an opinion found in many researched articles. I also incorporate a lot of my information from my personal research and my field of study.) 800-1000 a day (during the weekday) is not too hard to obtain for me. I have made a lot of research in concerns to food substitution and have found products such as flax seed bread that contains 50 cal per slice (100 per slice in regular bread), almond mayo which contain 45 cal per tablespoon (in comparison to the 100 cals in regular), 100 cal cereal and 40 cal milk per cup, soy butter (rather than peanut butter), sugar free jelly, etc etc etc. All these low calorie food are also low in fat. By the way I work with diabetic patients so a lot of these foods are encouraged to them. So it's not at all hard to get a good meal with these substitutions. I get my protein from many other low calorie options as well as a protein shake (145 cals, low sugar, and 32 g protein.) I eat about 5 times a day and I manage to stay withing that 800-1000 range. Again, it is important to listen to your body and make sure you have enough energy to go through the day. And I do. And if I get hungry, I eat. I might go over 1000 one day but in general, I do stay within that range. ( By the way, "Starvation mode" (first of all, a myth but has a few truths) is not something that happens within a day, or two, or 5. Maybe in two weeks. )Weekends, like I expressed, are really hard for me to count calories. Even if i wanted to stay within that 1500-1800 range you encouraged, I wouldn't be able to. I don't/can't count calories during the weekends cuz I travel a lot,I eat out during those days and I eat a lot. Managing to count calories every weekend will be hell and will give me the perfect excuse to give up. Like I said, I do keep a good eye on not being to deficient cuz I want to be healthy. I average 1400 a day. I am in the health field so this is particularly important to me. But you do have to find ways that work for you. Not everyone is the same or have the same access to information/products so everyone just has to find out what works best for them. As long as health is the primary concern, the way to get to your goal will not matter. I thank you opinion because if there is anything that is more important is a long term healthy life. I also know there are a lot of people who have done their research so I encourage absolutely comments, concerns, changes, what ever that will help all of us have a good amount of knowledge concerning these issues. |

Original Post by dmartineau1: That's the beauty of it!! You don't count calories everyday. I count calories only during the weekdays..(I have a routine-like week so it's easy.) Weekends I don't count at all. Cheat days I don't go crazy either. I eat what I want until I get full. I forget about calorie counting and I just enjoy food. I don't eat just to eat...and if I can avoid really bad foods I will but if I don't then I eat them. Simple. I wish you luck if you do decide to do this. |

Original Post by shapeshifter: Shapeshifter, I cannot even express how thankful I am that you shared this with me. As of today I am down .2 lbs putting me at 128.4 lbs. In reality, I have been trying this sorta zig-zagg technique for about 3-4 weeks now and although I feel no difference, I have to admit that I have had a 3.5 lbs drop for the month. 4lbs!!!! (from 132 to 128) WOW. I know....and I do admit I think that this zig-zag is working out for me. I actually just looked at my numbers today. I've been thinking that my weight has not been moving but it actually has. 3.5 lbs in a month is more than I can imagine or even ask for. I am surprised but more than anything, so excited. So I will keep this cheat day (actually, for me is two (the weekend)) and see how it goes. I'll keep you all posted.

Outinyonder, that would be nice. Let me know where and when you start this group. I'd definitely be a member. By the way, you are currently in my preferred weight. How did you get there? Curious...maybe I can add something to my diet to take me to the low 120's. On another note, I started this topic specifically to gather those people who have been doing really good in their weight loss. I just find it so hard to loose these last 15 lbs and there is nothing better than the advice of those who have already past that stage. As reading the previous replies, I notice that there are a lot of us on the same boat and not a lot of advice. That's good. Eventually one of us will get out of this plateau and let each other know how it was done. My update....well...It had been over 2 years since I had seen anything near the 120's and about a week ago I weighed in to an amazing 128.8 lbs. Sooo happy!! I still feel that the 130's haunt me. I am not that far away from that number so I am afraid it will creep back. I don't ever want to see the 130's again. Not even in the middle of the day with all the food and water weight. Anyway, I weigh in tomorrow in hopes that I am either 127 or 128.2. I don't mind if I have a slow weight loss, as long as the numbers are falling down. And then again, if the don't, I just want to look like I'm 115lbs. So, how did I get out of the 130's you ask? Well, I decided to do the zig zag technique. I ate about 800-1000 calories during the weekdays and ate about 2300 on the weekends averaging out to about 1350-1400 a day. I've been doing this for 2 weeks now and it has been working amazing. I don't get hungry during the weekdays...always busy....but weekends have always killed me. Now I have a way to make them work. I've been working out (cardio) 4 times a week with weight training. By the way...I've changed my cardio as of 2 weeks ago to strategize the HIIT program on the elliptical. So far I can say that these 3 weeks have been very successful. I know it's still pretty soon to see amazing results so i will update 3 weeks from now. So far, this has been working amazingly. I mean, from 130 (a plateau of over 1 month) to 128.....that is amazing to me. |

I am not sure if people are scared to hit this issue or not...but what about God? If you believe in him or not, doesn't take away from his existence and his power (absolutely a personal opinion.) Try him. If you really believe that life is meaningless, then it wouldn't hurt or matter if you try him. At least you'll get some sort happiness and distraction out of it. Even if you don't believe in God, I will pray for you. |

Well girls, what can I say. Dmartineau1, smiles, and cricket...thanks for your comments. I've been thinking a lot about that lately but I guess it just has to do with watching time go by so fast. I mean, OMG....we're already in July and I thought I just celebrated my birthday (January). In two weeks it's our 3 year anniversary ...I thought we just started. Everything is just so fast and well....I can't help thinking if I should be catching up with time or time should be catching up with me. But these thoughts come once in a while.....trust me. I am extremely happy where I'm at right now...with my career, my relationship and definitely my ability to travel. I am in no way in a hurry...thank goodness. A big plus....I get to focus on my health more than I probably would =) Happy Friday girls....safe weekend and definitely a healthy one too. |

Actually yes hbbroadbent!! I am interested in becoming an enterpreneur. My ultimate goal in life is to build a weight loss business for low income individuals. I would like to focus primarily on those who have medical issues and need a fast and healthy weight loss (diatetics, etc). I would also like to open the doors to those other individuals who are overweight/obese due to wrong eating habits or obsessive behaviors. I'm focusing on the low income communities because services such as these are extremely expensive and there are less resources for them in small communties. Incorportating nursing and nutrition will do much benefit. Still a goal but I am definitely working for it. |

Dmartineau1, I am a very happy person most of the time (give all the credit to God). It's hard to keep this when things are bad but I try my hardest to always be thankful for what I do have. I've never been to Maine and I do admit that a cold summer would be a bummer for me too. That's why I love Cali. But there are plans to move to Seattle so let's see how I adjust. agaac, welcome....and wow. Such dedication and work. Congrats. It will pay off. Very true simignone. I will keep that in mind. Since I am barely in the beginning of this weight training thing...I am taking it a little slow and light. I do not want to hurt myself. But as I progress I will add heavier weight to the routine. I've been getting amazing results so I can't wait to see whats next. This week will complete my third week so maybe next week I will make the change. Rlgoodwill, I have come to learn that too. I've really set the scale aside and measured my progress to what I felt. I'm feeling amazing so I will keep at it. I've gone through the same weekend you just expressed. Same!!! But this week in a new week...a week of reparation if possible and a week of new accomplishments. I know it will be the same for you. A lil about me...oh dear...well, I'm a current Nursing and Health and Nutrition student. I'm almost done with health and nutrition which is were I get most of my nutritional knowledge from. I have a personal trainer boyfriend which is where I get all of my training info. As a side note, not because I have this knowledge means it is easy to apply it. Many nutritionist will back me up on that. But knowledge is power so it has been extraordinarily helpful. Ethnically I am Latina and raised in beautiful California close to the coast. I love to sing and dance but my passion is mostly singing. I am a soloist at my church which I enjoy very much. What else? Um, I am currently working in a clinic providing patients with a lot of orthotic and prosthetic devices. Love my job. Currently working full time and school part time. It is not as stressful as it sounds. If you love what you do, you enjoy every minute of it. So that is me in a nutshell. Nice to meet you all. |

Thank you all for the welcomes (dmartineau1, gretamarie, crickettro05, and simignonne). That always feels good and I too am happy to be here. Crickettro05, thanks for the concern. I admit that my exercise routine is not that intense to up my calorie intake. My maintenance calorie intake is 1420 so I use exercise as my deficit. I burn about 300 cals a session...does not include the weight training which I might burn about 90 cals more. I am a pretty sedimentary person. Simignonne, I change cardio up a lot. Like I expressed before, I used to be doing cardio like no other...about 1 hour or more on days. But recently I change my whole routine to give my body a rest and try something else that might work better. I work out about 30 mins only and I do either running or elliptical. I change those up a bit...at different levels and at different modes. I also do about 30 min of weights....interchanging upper and lower body. One day I do lower, other day I do upper. I go to a gym so I use a lot of their equipment but I am ok with free weights. I change that up a bit too. After 2.5 weeks of this routine, I am seeing great results already. Not necessarily on the weight, but definitely yes on the toning. |

Hi people, I've been a member since January but just recently started back officially on June. I've lost a total of 7 lbs as of last monday so I am stocked! I know that these last few lbs I need to loose will be a totall dragg so I am here for continual support. Here are some stats 5'3, 129lbs, and goal weight of 120-115lbs. Exercise about 4 X a week (I just recently changed my routine from cardio 1 hr, weights 30 min to cardio for 30min and weights for 45min. I so hope this helps me loose faster cuz the other way around was just not doing much for me.) My daily calories intake zig-zags (as of a week ago) but an overall intake is about 1420 cals a day. So I am excited to be here. I am so not looking forward to hitting plateus but at least I know I am not alone and I have the support of you guys. Besos! |

Well girlie.....I think two weeks of 1200 is fine but it is time to up your calories. I know you are probably totally motivated by your fast weight loss but remember that not only are you trying to loose weight...u also want to do it in a healthy way and attaom long term results. Being in a large calorie deficit for a short period of time is not bad for an adult person. Research suggests a week and max 2 weeks for a weight loss start. But you are young and still growing. So I advice that you start upping your calories. You have a good start with the 8 lbs loss so now, even though it will be a slower weight loss, it will be a healthy and long term one. If you don't, not only will you hinder your health but also hinder your growth. At this point your loss is significant and 2 weeks is just more than enough. Start upping your calories slowly. Start adding 150 cals every 4 days until reaching your minimum of 1500-1600. Once your goal is reached, again add calories slowly to maintain. Monitor your weight so you can find the exact number that will keep you in maintenance which should be at around 1800 p/d. Best of luck. Girlie, please don't forget that though it's tempting to attain fast results, most of the time is not that good for you. Take it slow and take it healthy. You are growing, u need the extra cals and the extra body fat to sustain your growth. |
