The Lounge 1 month to a better me...tips? Feb 11 2009

Hmmm I recently picked up a book by Jillian Michaels, "Making the Cut," which is a 30 day plan for getting in your best shape possible.  I haven't read it yet, but something to think about! I bet you can totally see results in a month.

I agree, buy a super cute outfit, get your hair done (maybe even that day if possible, I can never seem to do it the way my hair stylist does when I'm on my own!), visit a makeup counter at the mall like MAC and have them give you a little makeover.  I say make sure you smelling good as well ;)

Hmmmm...obviously even when you are in a committed relationship, you are still going to find others attractive, and that's totally normal and okay.  It's what you do with those feelings of attraction that matters in my eyes.  If my husband were constantly pointing out how hot others were (especially you know, just a girl passing by on the street as opposed to a celebrity), I would find it pretty disrespectful.  But it's totally up to you to decide what you are comfortable with.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not, but about a week & a half - two weeks after I started exercising and dieting, I had a bit of spotting.  I thought I was going to get my period early, but it was just for an evening. It really freaked me out but I mentioned it to my doctor and she said it was nothing to worry about.  I am on BC and I guess it's common.

I attempted to cut out sugar and I just couldn't do it (I LOVE chocolate)! Maybe you are an 'all or nothing' person and this wouldn't work for you, but every now and then when I get a really bad craving I have a Thins Dairy Milk 100 cal. choc bar, or some no sugar added chocolate Jello pudding.  It keeps me from having a binge on something potentially worse!

I must say though, your description of those smoothies...going through some cravings right now!Wink

I love the idea of anything handmade for V-day.  One year I made my now husband a book called "100 reasons why I love you."  He said it was his favourite gift ever and he was really touched.  It's a little bit cheeeeesy but hey Wink The book of quotes idea sounds awesome!

Weight Loss When your partner is so not into eating healthy Jan 30 2009

I struggle with a similar situation...my husband is an incredibly unhealthy eater (right now he is chowing down on a frozen Hungry Man dinner, sure to be followed by a large chocolate milkshake!) but he is stick thin. He never exercizes either, grrr. I am not saying he is healthy, but he is damn skinny!

He is very supportive of my efforts, but it's been hard.  Sometimes I get very jealous of everything he can eat without it showing.  We used to eat out and order in a lot before I started thinking about my weight, so there's been a change in lifestyle as well.

The only thing I can think of is when it's your turn to cook the meals, make very healthy choices and he will benefit from that too.  Good luck!

When I reach my goal (135, currently at about 155), probably mid-June, I want to reward myself with some new outfits, a makeover at MAC, and a new hairstyle/colour!  It keeps me very motivated thinking about all this...can't wait until those cute summer clothes are out! Wink
