Hi,

You are def in teh right place here, there;s lots of support and advice available and I find just entering everything I eat really keeps me focused.  It's surprising what you eat in a day that you don't really realise!!

I have gained weight in the last few years and want to loose it and keep it off.  I have joined a lcoal gym in the last month, but to be honest beofre that I was lifting baked bean tins to work my arms (don't know the name of the muscles) and did 'step' on the stairs of our house.  One of my best excercise routines is free and it's power walking... getting a real march on and swinging my arms - it's great how much you can achieve with a little inventiveness.

Fresh food is really easy to find if you go to the market at the endof the day, my market is always selling off veg by the scoop for a pound, so makes life a little easier..

Hope this helps in some way... I'm sure others will have much more advice and guidance for you....

Keep going, you will get trim again.....

Thanks for your advice and comments.  I am eating about 1200 calories a day mon to fri then around 1000 on weekends.  The curves gym burns about 400 a day.

The calculator here (Burn meter) says total estimated 2780 and then underneath it it just says 1506.  I'm not really sure what the two numbers mean but I read it that if I eat 1506 I maintain and anything under I loose?  not sure so have stuck around the 1200 a day as that gives me 300 per day deficit?

The trainer at curves told me to eat more protein as I mainly eat fruit and veg with very little meat, so am also going to up my intake of fish and chicken and reduce some veg/fruit intake.

Madamq, thanks I'll try and be patient... sometimes I get so frustrated that it seems so little, but your are right I will try and be patient.

Health & Support Tummy Tuck after Weight Loss??? Mar 17 2009

Hi,

I lost a huge amount of weight about 10 years ago and had a full tummy tuck three years ago.  Original weight: 268 LBS down to 144 LBS - (in two years) I maintained the loss for years, then quit smoking and have put some back on... hence on this site working hard to loose again.

Anyway the TT was really great.  There are some drawbacks - a big scar, sometimes would necrosis (the scar doesn't heal well in all places) and it takes a while to get any feeling at all back from the invasiveness of the surgery.  I am three years on and am still numb in places and yes, it does feel wierd at times.

There is a fantastic web site that has loads of Q&A about surgery: TT's, BA's etc.. I found it really helpful, maybe you will too?

www.breasthealthonline.org

It's similar in style to this site, so you can chat to people and find out lots more..

I have no regrets about my TT, if you want to know more about it, just let me know and I'll run through it step by step...BUT remember everyone is different.  I healed really quickly and well, some don't and there is no way to know, but eating right and not smoking is essential...

Hope this helps??

I use Bio-Oil for mine and they seem to be less obvious.  Also used it on an old scar and that is also less prominant.  I can't say they are actually going, but by massaging every day, they do seem to be fading...

Also love teh 'tiger marks' comment.... much better!!

Good luck!

Hi,

This thread has just about saved my sanity....  THANK YOU !

I too have a huge belly (looks that way to me) I have lost 11 pounds since January and am working out every day.  I seem to be loosing and toning except for my stomach area... I too though OMG... I look pregnant !  Similarly I can't be, so was getting really worried...

Having read all your comments it appears a totally 'natural' thing... so again thank you...

Good luck everyone... here's to smaller bellies in the future - when they catch up with the rest of our bodies....
