| Weight Loss | I'm not sure what to do... | Mar 06 2009 15:19 (UTC) |

Hello there, It's really good that you are coming to terms and able to recognize the issue. One thing that helped me (I love food) was to log everything I ate for a week without making any changes. Then I went through the list of the food I normally ate and began experiment with healthy versions or substitutions. An example is my love for olive garden and all italian food. On this site, there is a recipe for healty chicken alfredo. I used that but added chicken tenderloins that I personally seasoned with garlic POWDER and italian herbs. I also enjoyed this over whole wheat pasta. I tweaked that recipe further by not adding salt or anything with salt in it. Instead I added extra black pepper to kick up the flavor. Below is the original recipe: Low Fat Alfredo Sauce 1 tbsp. margarine 1/4 cup flour 1 tsp. salt 1 pinch nutmeg 3 cups skim milk 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. chopped parsley 1 tsp. minced garlic Directions
As far as you injury goes, I would try slow, non-resistance exercises such as yoga. (Do the moves from your chair as best as you can, do not get on the floor b/c you may risk worsening your injury) Now is a great time to work on your posture and breathing. Popping on some headphones and going for long walks is a great way to lose the pounds and tone up too. Good Luck! ~Krissy |

I see a lot of postings for cottage cheese as a high protein food. It's "OK" for you but be careful because cheese is considered a "binding food" like many other dairy products. Research done by those who don't work for the Dairy Association shows that dairy contributes to a sluggish metabolism, constipation, cramping as well as other intestinal issues. But like almost everyone says, everything is o.k in moderation. |

| Weight Loss | what can i do so that my inner thighs don't touching!? | Mar 06 2009 03:10 (UTC) |

I have a similar issue. What seems to be working for me is lying on the floor with a large medicine ball between my knees. I keep my knees at a 90 degree angle while squeezing the ball. At the same time I lift up my back and butt off the floor so that my knees come up to touch my elbows. I've been doing this a few weeks and I've lost over an inch of inner thigh fat. |

You want to make sure that your chicken is either in tenderloins or breasts because animal fat is not good for you. As for peanut butter, try going for a natural one without added salt or sugar. It'll take a little while to get used to but after about a week or two you'll love it. And do not eat farm bread fish, they tend to have a lot more chemicals and other bad things in them than wild fish. Salmon, tilapia, and whiting fish fillets are all good choices. Also, you might want to add nuts to your list, they're the most healthy if they come still in their shells. Good Luck! :) |

I have recently been put on a similar diet myself. I did a little research and experimenting and I think your best bet is egg whites. One egg white from a large egg has only 16 calories. If you take three and mix them with a splash of skim milk and some black pepper it's both filling, delicious, and low-cal. I also have rinsed tuna (takes out some of that sodium) with salad, Fiber one cereal (plain) mixed with a few almonds or other nuts as extremely low cal snacks. For back ups on extreme ice-cream cravings, I keep low cal pudding cups in the freezer. It takes time to eat these so there's no binging involved and you get the same satisfaction. There are also many low cal recipes on this site, check them out, have fun with your experimenting and good luck. ~Krissy |

I would avoid the peanut butter and go easy on the nuts too, they're high in fat and sometimes sodium. Lots of beans have high protein. If sodium isn't an issue for you, go for tuna too. The egg white suggestion is also very good. I spray the pan w/ olive oil and fry them, then I eat them w black pepper and a bit of ketchup. Yum ;) |
