1. How old is your cat?

6 almost 7 years old

2. Male or female?

Female

3. How much does she/he weigh?

I got Reba at 5 years old and 5 lbs now she is about 6.5lbs

4. Is he/she overweight?

She is perfect for her tiny size.

5. How much do you feed them and what schedule?

I leave her food and water bowl out and keep them full.  Of course they are tiny bowls for a tiny cat but she just seems to eat when we eat.

6. Do they ask for more food?

no.

7. Brand of wet food?

She won't touch wet food.

8. Brand of dry food?

I like the Iams or Purina Mature Cat formula for hairball control.  She doesn't regularly have issues but I think that this is a good formula for an older cat.
Weight Loss I work out and I eat 1350 calories a day. Why am I not losing weight? Feb 02 2009

Rather than focusing on the number of pounds you see on the scale focus on your body measurements, how you feel and how your clothes fit. It seems like you might be treading on unsafe waters by focusing so much on the scale. Your proportions are envious.  I'd say start lifting weights and increasing the intensity of your cardio.  You'll get toned and feel great. And remember, PLEASE don't focus on the scale!

As a recovering chocoholic I found that I just had to steer clear of all tempation for about 3 weeks. Now, only once in a blue moon do I have a craving for chocolate. I think I just had to "get it out of my system" as they say. Always remember to allow your self a few "cheats" and don't beat your self when you have to have some sort of sweet.Laughing

Weight Loss Any bring-to-work lunch ideas I can make for my boyfriend? Jan 29 2009

Its all about making large meals 2-3 times per week then portioning that food into individual containers.  I cook about 6lbs of chicken at a time 2x a week and 3 lbs of beef 1x a week, then you just portion everything out.  It saves time in the morning and money during the day.  Brown rice is another great staple.  Cook up a bunch and then do the same thing, portion it out.  Also, for quick protein,  scoop out protein into individual zip lock baggies and put them in a basket on the counter or on top of the frig, then grab and go. Keep a bottle of water at work or in the car and there you have it, instant protein shake.

Here's a couple ideas that worked for me.

1. Take a "before" picture and try to look your worst.  Stick out your stomach and make a sad face.  Everytime I don't want to go to the gym I take one look at that and all is well.

2. Use other people's transformations as inspiration for yours.  Check out bodybuilders.com and view the transformations.

3. Just go to the gym.  After a couple of days you'll find that you actually want to go.

I prefer a mixed gym.  It might seem a bit weird but as a female I am motivated by the men in my gym that lift hard and heavy.  I know I'll never come close to the amount of weight they are doing but seeing them lift fuels my training sessions.

One, 100 calories six times a day is only 600 calories a day---you need more than that to live.  Two,  you might not be giving your body enough time to do its job efficiently. Small, balanced meals every 2 to 3 hours is the most effective and efficient way to go.

you misunderstood... the poster is talking about either eating all the cals 6x or day OR eating 100 cals an hour.  Same cals either way...

I did misunderstand... Sorry about that. Have a great day!

Foods Does anyone drink a protein shake after working out? Jan 21 2009

I typically drink a protein drink after working out, which for me is weight lifting. I use EAS chocolate protein powder and mix it with 20 oz of water.  I factor it into my calorie counts for the day.  I believe this is a much better alternative than the protein shakes and smothies that you can buy at the gym or at smoothie shops. Increasing your protein intake, limiting your carbs and fats should help you loss weight in a healthy way.
