Shelly: I am 27, 5'4 and 134 lbs....I am trying hard to lose the last 7-10 as well...I tend to carry around my waist and upper thighs...so far, I have found weight lifting along with cardio to be beneficial in losing inches in those problem areas....but it has been a struggle to whittle away those last few pesky pounds....good luck!

I try to go the grocery store every 2 weeks or so....I try to buy lots of fruit/veggies, lean meats, and whole grains....I recently lost my job (due to our lovely economony!) so I've been on a tighter budget which means I will only buy cheaper fruits such as bananas and grapefruit and whatever veggies are on sale...my favorite quick dinner is ground turkey mixed with black beans green peppers, onions and brown rice....I will throw this into a whole wheat tortilla sometimes also....yummy!

My first weigh in:

LW: 134.4

CW: 134.2

GW: 126

I'm amazed I lost anything...I had an indulgent weekend full of eating out, carrot cake, and mocha lattes, but I kept up with my workouts which probably helped. I am back on track this week so I hope to see better results next week!

So glad to see so many runners on here! I have been running for the past 2 years but have decided this year I will try out a 10K as well as a half marathon, so I will definitely seek some advice from those of you who run races.

Hi everyone....My name is Kandria, and I am excited about joining in on this forum...my current weight is 134 and I'm 5'4....I'm hoping to drop a few more pounds down to 126 although the number is not that important to me...more about muscle definition and body fat % for me as well as eating healthy and staying active! I have dropped 20 pounds over the past 5 months through exercise and more mindful eating....I have only recently started paying more attention to calorie counting as I lose the last few pounds....I have also recently taken up yoga which I hope to make a more consistent part of my life.

I have fluctuated throughout my life...my heaviest being 180 over 5 ago years which I have not seen since! Since then I have fluctuated b/w 140-160...I am pleased with my most recent weight loss and my main goal is just to maintain a healthy lifestyle and not allow outside stressors to negatively influence my healthy habits.
