| Weight Loss | can everyone (women) become a size 0 or 2?? | Oct 12 2009 04:41 (UTC) |
10 |
it depends. I belileve that for those who are overweight or were overweight, it would be harder, much harder to get to a 0-2 sizes whereas for someone in the nromal range of weight according to her height would not have as much difficulty to lose weight.

| Weight Loss | I'm 17 and wanting to reach 110lbs but I'm not sure if this is the right target for me. Targets confuse me - can someone help?? | Aug 29 2009 05:50 (UTC) |

you shouldn't ask people here what target weight is good for you. only you know that and why don't you just eat healthy and exercise but not overdo it and see where your weight goes and as you are losing evaluate, your body, take a look and ask yourself if that is where you want to be. |

| Weight Loss | Does chewing food, but not swallowing it, give any calories? | Jul 11 2009 09:29 (UTC) |

physiologically speaking calories will absorb if you are chewing foods that are carbohydrates. Those nutrients and calories will be digesting already in your moutch, therefore, chewing then spitting will make you gain weight. |

| Weight Loss | Is there a point when the body can't lose any more weight healthily? | Jul 03 2009 10:07 (UTC) |

i'm also 5'1. when i was in high school the highest weight i've weighed was 128 and slowly and unknowingly after 2 semesters of college i lost a lot of weight just by eating healthier and got to my lowest 90lbs and the most active workout i've ever had was 10 min of jumprope and it wasn't even 10 min straight i had breaks in between. what i'm saying is i really don't know whether this "set point" does exist, but being 100lbs for your weight is definitely healthy. |

yeah, her BMI is greater than 25 and she wasn't even drastically underweight to begin with, but her body shut down awhile ago and they told her her hormones were very low on estrogen. just thought if anyone experience the same and i might be able to pass it to her. |

in a heartbeat. longevity to me is quite irrelevant, it's a very selfish decision, but no one has to live in your body only you are stuck with it for the rest of your life. |

i think it's bull. how can you tell an overweight person to use that to evaluate their frame and all they'll get is a large frame. |

my gym's elliptical on average would burn 500 an hour, it's quite difficult i think. i would have to go on a steady fast pace at 10 for resistance.

wow, that was uncall for. wondering what was up her ass that she felt the need to attack you. you should have said any guy who doesn't find you healthy doesn't deserve in the first place, but just let it go because clearly you are not overweight and she was being a nasty bitch. |

| Weight Loss | 24 Hours of Fat Burning From Exercise? article | Jun 12 2009 20:00 (UTC) |

dolphinclick, i kind of though the same too, it's just about balancing calories regardless when you eat them, to not exceed more intake than you are burning off, but then it goes on about the effect of burning fat after you eat and before you eat and that had me going what's the direct point is. legaleli, i agree it's incoherent. honestly, i never thought that exercise would have a fat burning effect aftermath, exercise will only burn the calories as long as you are working out and that's it. But weight lifting will still have your metabolism on fire, but only for brief period and the effect isn't strong enough to counter their calories you take in anyway. |

| Weight Loss | I really can't do it | May 18 2009 00:28 (UTC) |
|
I know it's my diet, I think I might be too restrictive in the sense of variety. I limit myself and i guess the more i do, the more binging comes along. My diet mentality is for sure what prevents from overcoming this. I know rationally how unhealthy I am being, but nothing is stopping me. I should also stop focusing on the losing weight part and concentrate on stop binging and eating healthy food. It's also true that my stomach just isn't as small as it used to be because when i overeat, i don't feel the discomfort i used to get, so it must be enlarged now. :( and bev12, I'm far from normal weight, I am overweight and if i don't stop what i'm doing, i could be 200 by the end of this year. I'm only 5'1, so over 130 is detrimental to my body enough. |

thank you to all to for your amazing responses. It's very honest and helpful, but i guess i left out the part about me driving out to buy the junk food and shove it down my throat every time i get the cravings. Even though I don't eat to the point of uncomfortable, it's still calorie overload. It's gotten so bad that i have to leave all cash and credit/debit cards at home just so i don't get tempted to buy cookies and chips at school. For example, I would go to subway to buy cookies, then Starbucks for their brownie, and then head to Round Table for pizza. And this is all on my college campus. Seriously, I know I'm killing myself like this, and there is no excuse and I just have to practice control and keep myself extremely busy. I'm even more fearful after I graduate because I will have more time on my hands and then what? I'll be obese by then.

vorn082 and ginaiboo, this isn't just some little thing where it's "oh i'm having a fat day" this can be serious. i was in the same position when i gained 10 lbs and feel into a deep **** depression and binge ate my way to an additional 10, 20, 30 pounds. you don't want to become like me. Now i have to pay for it in a big way and it has prevent me from doing things i love. to the op, you need to talk to someone and accept your body for now and try to treat it well because what happened to me was i hated my body so much and felt so estraged from it that i treated it like ****. and eating more was a way of punishment and defeat. if i would have just understand that a 10 lb gain wasn't so bad compared to others, i could have save myself. so, anyone got a time machine? |

seriously ppl, why are you attacking the op? she was just baffled and i think most of us are too at this subject but no need to be so harsh. i used to be like this and honestly what worked is not being jealous and so focus on those people, because it worked, i was in the best shape i could ever be. Focus more on treating your body right and everything should fall into place. Good luck. |

you guys all seem to be on track. i haven't been coming here lately maybe that's why I am so lost and so lousy. been binging for the past whole week and i just can't give up the cookie habit. it's killing me, though i wish it would literally kill me instead. i'm so afriad to look at the scale that i have been avoiding it completely, i know i've gained but i don't know how many, i don't want to cry and school started so i'm super busy, yet binging. i make no sense. salemwatts, 16lbs in 9 weeks is incredible! I be stoked if i could get there. don't worry you body should catch up, you're doing so well just hang in there; 2 weeks are not enough. wish me luck. |

whoa. what are you talking about? the medals aren't based on physical appearances but their athletic abilities. bmi isn't everything, someone who have more muscle mass but over his/her bmi range does not mean he/she is overweight or unhealthy. i thought i leave this post alone because some of you are more interested in what i had said than help the op out. you guys can have this since it clearly shows that you have problems dealing with your anger in the real world and find doing it behind the computer more easily. good luck and take care Specca. I hope you find what you need. |

Original Post by personaltrainer87: i can tell you i'm one of those who are under 5'2 and weight more than 110 and it makes me unhealthy. it makes me look fat. i didn't generalize the entire population with the same stats. this was subjective not objective. so chill. i can definitely afford to be 100 and under and was perfectly healthy are that weight. if someone can look like they're 100-105 under 5'1 but weighs more, why not then. |

gee, your body will probably thank you... there's nothing wrong with it. as for social events and eating out, who cares. if you have discipline and satisfied with fruits, why not. you're planning to eat protein for breakfast so it's not like you're lacking anything. why don't you do a fruit dominate type of eating if you like fruits that much. mind over matter. |

bmi isn't everything. anyone who is 5'2 and under shouldn't weight any more than 110 anyway. i've been all over the place and i can tell you being over 105 and over that wasn't good for me. just because some of you (those opposing the goals of the op) can never be her or other's here with the same goal sizes doesn't mean they can't aim for that weight and be healthy. |

| Weight Loss | Celebrities Who've lost tons of weight | Apr 01 2009 03:47 (UTC) |

hilary duff isn't super thin, she looks really good right now. hot. christina aguilera was a bit chubby in her dirrty days, but then again she was always super petite, so her body would jump back to being thin anyway. lindsay lohan does look amazing, unfortunately she's on crack, but i guess i do it do if i had access to it. Horatio Sanz is the guy from SNL who lost tons of weight. he looks amazing. what celebrities interest me the most are those who gained tons of weight but lost it all and kept it off. like Jared Leto and Rene Zellweger. what does that say? shouldn't it give people who gained a lot weight from binge eating or whatever some hope that dedication, exercise, and proper nutrition would help lose those un-needed unwanted pounds.
