If you are looking for a great brunch, try Le Village Buffet at Paris. I thought it was incredible! Great selections of breads, cheese, eggs, and meats. I went in 2003 and it was about $25 per person but I found it well worth it for the quality of food. I have not been back since 2003 so I can't guarantee that the quality is the same but I would think it would be the same. |

Original Post by 5327: Pork tenderloin is amazing. I've recently started making pulled pork sandwiches. Bake the pork at about 375 for 30 to 40 minutes. Once done, use two forks and shred the meat. Put meat in pot and add BBQ sauce or terryaki sauce. Heat it togeter and put on a nice bun. Mmmmmm, me getting hungry! |

Original Post by duke3522: Well said! People on this site need to enjoy a meal every once in a while. Any chinese food is horrible for you! :) Yes, you'll eat too much and yes, the scale will probably say you are up a few pounds the next day. (From the sodium and bloating) You need to treat yourself every once in a while. I know this post is late but I hope you had a great meal!!! :) |

You're boss is in the wrong. Her job is to make sure that YOU can do your job to the best of your abilities and she is not doing that. If I was in your position I would have another meeting with your boss and really tell her your frustrations and that it is having a negative impact on you. You need to tell her that you EXPECT her to act on this. If she doesn't listen or she gives you BS answers to your legitimate questions then tell her that you have documented all of the issues and that you will be bringing the situation to HR. Perhaps she doesn't know the extent to which this is bothering you. (Just make sure that you ARE documenting everything.)

| Weight Loss | Yes Coffee or no Coffee??? | Apr 03 2009 12:54 (UTC) |

Mmmm, coffee. I used to drink it with cream and sugar. I now have it with skim milk and splenda. Yes, the taste is not as good but you get used to it. I actually quite like it now. I also have some decaf coffee sometimes to lower my caffeine intake. Seems like we have to modify a few different things when we're trying to eat/drink better. Gotta think about the greater good. |

| Weight Loss | Light or Sedentary? What works for you? | Apr 01 2009 17:38 (UTC) |
1 |
What works for me: I set myself as sedentary and then log all of my activity. I usually log the activity very conservatively. (Ex. If my workout borders vigorous then I just set it as moderate.) What I perceive to be vigorous may not be. :) Personally, I'd rather under-estimate than over-estimate. If you workout the same way every week then you might be better off selecting lightly active. If you change up your activity on a weekly basis then I would do what I do. Good luck! |

Thanks for the reply. It never hurts to get a professional opinion, right? The worst they could tell me is that they can't do anything for me. In which case, I'll just have to work things out myself. |

| Weight Loss | Cutting carbs to break through plateau? | Mar 20 2009 17:36 (UTC) |
2 |
I wouldn't suggest it. I used to do low carb and yes it does work in the short term but as soon as you get off of it and get back to calorie counting it will hurt your progress. Normally low carb means higher fat which means higher calorie. Paulinka is right. Try a more intense workout. Try interval training. Maybe lower your carbs slightly and up the protein to make up for it. In my opinion and with my experience in low carb, it is a trap. It will happen for you if you keep it up. One other thing. Try to cut out all drinks other than water. If you need coffee have one but then drink water for the rest of the day. Good luck! |

Check out this guy on YouTube. He gives great exercise suggestions for targeting different areas on your body. Here's one for your love handles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwPFDh4hRns Caution: I did this with a weighted bar and was sore for two weeks. You DO NOT need to use any weights with this exercise. You have been warned! |

Original Post by livelovelearn: I love making sweet potato fries. (the healthy way) Cut them into thin or thick strips, whatever you like. Lay them on a cookie sheet lined with parchement paper, spray with olive oil and bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes flipping them halfway through. Then at the end, broil them for a few minutes to try and crisp them up. They don't get too crispy but I love them. |

Original Post by luna6517: I'm the same way, Luna. I've always had portion control problems. I used to get a huge plate of food and then my second helping would be just as big as my first. Crazy!! It's better to not eat the foods that you have a hard time controlling. For me it is pizza. I can't just have on or two pieces of pizza. It's usually 4 or 5. Oh, and beer of course. :) |

I'm glad everyone is enjoying this topic. I really hope that it isn't making everyone go out and binge on all these delicious foods. :) Here are a couple more that I miss: Seafood Subway sub. Apparently it's the worst one for you. Now I eat the oven roasted chicken breast. Only 600 calories for a foot long. Onion rings, OMG onion rings! Hashbrown casserole, coated and deep fried honey garlic chicken wings. I agree with everyone who has said this: "I miss just eating whatever and how much I want." :) Those were the days, huh? Don't you all remember how amazing it was but how awful you felt after? |

Original Post by sweetandbrown: Hey Sweet. I've always used sweetener and cream. I started having milk instead of cream and I agree that it doesn't taste as good but you get used to it. I now have an XL 2 milk (2% is what they have) and 1 sweetener. It's around 30 calories. |

OK folks, this is just for fun. Everyone understands that you can have anything in moderation and I certainly don't deprive myself. I want to hear from the people that will eat a small piece of chocolate now whereas previously they would have eaten the entire chocolate Easter bunny. :) |

Go swimming, or take an aquatic fitness class. It's one of the best aerobic exercises you can do. I know you are big and probably self-conscious about being in a baithing suit but just imagine how good it will feel when you can begin to buy smaller baithing suits? :) You don't even have to swim to start exercising. You can start by having the water as high on your body as you can go then just jumping (controlled) up and down. You can also move your arms in different motions. Make gravity work in your favour. Stupid gravity! :) |

Original Post by kortlynmoore: This is something else I have almost every single day. Something hot! I love Frank's!! The chili/lime is amazing with mexican/spanish food. I also use Tabasco sauce on a lot of things. Cayenne pepper is a spice I use often to give my food a kick. I've also heard that it helps speed up your metabolism. I would hope so since sometimes it feels like it is eating my stomach! :) Ah, it's a good burn. |
