P.S. Sorry for the rant but things like this bug me....It's very easy to smudge numbers like that to make others look bad I don't care if the US is one of the fatest country's per capita I care That I am getting classified because of some thing like this for something I have no control over ( I am one of the metabolic people myself and can't even imagine eating that many calories on a holiday!!!!!) I am so sick of everyone assumeing that all people are fat because of what and how much they eat!!!!!!!! UGH

Hey-relax... They aren't talking about you! They are talking about the people who REALLY do eat that many calories ina day! Figure that an average fast food meal is easily over 1000+ calories! An In and Out Burger milkshake is 690 or something, add a burger and fries, or even just a burger! I think the stats are based on things like we eat fast food more often...and we drive cars more instead of walking ( because of work/commuting) Anyhow, they are def. NOT referring to people with metabolic/health/ meds issues!

Weight Loss atkins diet May 09 2008

I did atkins,(along with exercise) lost 40 pounds, then gained it all back over the course of a year with 'normal' eating. I think that Atkins helps you look at processed foods with skepticism and fear (lol) but your body needs those fruits and whole grains! I know that as you prgress through the stages you will eventually bring those back into your diet, but from experience I think that counting calories, small frequent meals and activity work better in the long run, and you don't feel like you are such a carnivore!
