Hi there, I've literally just started eating low GI and already I feel good! Normally, with having a white bread sandwich and muffin for lunch I feel bloated for like an hour and then peckish around 2-half 2ish (now!). However, my low GI meal of ravioli (which I'm hoping is low GI after a little research), peas and carrots, I'm comfortable, not too full AND not hungry. Therefore, don't feel the need to snack. I've ordered the book too, I'll keep you posted! |

Gi-jane, thanks for all of your help, you really know your stuff about this! I'm going to try cut down to one coffee or tea a day and drink a lot more water. Cutting back on stodgy carbs as well as they make me bloat as well and I think they retain a lot of water too... correct me if I'm wrong? Thanks again for all of your help :) |

For me the biggest problem is that my boyfriend is trying to bulk up and I'm trying to slim down. However, I'm just going to half my large portions and give the half I don't eat to him...! |

All I can say is hun, don't give up and don't beat yourself up. You are most definately not a monster. Keep on going, and if you need any support remember that the majority of people here are very kind and helpful, so there's always someone to turn to. It's difficult at first admittedly, but once you start to see results you'll feel great. There's a light at the end of the tunnel (as lame as that sounds!) Good luck :)

Indeed it is a bugger and I totally understand where you're coming from. For me, the weight is shifting on the scales but not on my body and I'm thinking "where is it going?!" Stick it out mate and you'll notice more and more improvements the more you go on. One bad day can really bring you down but truthfully, if you stop now you'll never see an improvement. My victory today is feeling full! Normally I try and wait until my set meal times to eat, regardless of if I'm hunngry or not. But today, I'm full but not bloated and it's a wonderful feeling, especially as I ate about an hour ago :) P.S. I love Legally Blonde too!! |

Thanks for the advice, I think I will sign up for a class. I've always wanted to learn to dance but I've been too scared I'm too fat to do it or people will be mean. However, I'm in a strange I don't care mood at the moment so I should really just go for it! |

I had the exact same problem at my ex-boyfriends house... he sat there and ate a whole pack of cherry bakewells, 2 packs of crisps and a packet of pink wafer biscuits and offered me some every two minutes, knowing that I hate my weight and knowing that he wants me to get "fit" too! How are you supposed to deal with that?! What do you do to get round it?! Other than be anti-social and ignore them and the nice food! |

Luckily I live in the UK and don't have this problem... something I'm quite happy about as I have the biggest sweet tooth. People bringing cookies to my door sounds awesome, but isn't good for the figure. |

My motivation is that on 6th June when my Dad is getting re-married, I will look great in my blue silk bridesmaids gown. Oh, and when the dress will have to be taken in about 2 sizes, that will be amazing. Just gotta keep picturing that and it drives me. |
