Yeah, mooncakes are pretty but bland. I was given a box of durian mooncakes by a friend a couple of weeks ago... not a fan!

I totally understand your position, but... that's the only kind I can tolerate!  I will eat durian anything!

I would also like to join.  I am 5'1'', and I weigh 165lbs.  By Monday, December 21st, I'd like to be around 149lbs.  My long term goal is to be around 120 by this coming summer, but I'm not going to push myself too hard.  As long as I get there, I'll be happy.

I'd love to be a part of a group for motivation.  Thanks!

I don't really like mooncakes, either.  But I'm Chinese, so my relatives always goad me into having a bite.  I always think the name sounds far better than it actually is.

How did this make papers without him being tested in the first place?

Yellow journalism.  It's invaded our lives!  Ruuuuuun!

Good thing it did, though, because otherwise this boy could have been saddled with a child that isn't his.  If the other boys hadn't read about it in the newspaper, it's very likely they wouldn't have come forward.

Of course, it's awful that their lives have become a media circus.  In any case, it's tragedy all around.

If you do lose the weight, it will have no impact on his amount of lust for other girls.  He's lusting after them now, and that isn't going to change.  The only thing that can change is his perspective--either you are worth the fidelity, or he wants to sow his seeds.  I'm not sure weight loss is going to change that.

I'm so sorry you are hurt.  Just know that this isn't your fault.  You're doing an AMAZING thing that takes guts, effort, pain, discomfort, commitment, and plain chutzpah.  It's very impressive, and I'm totally inspired by it.

If I was you, I would talk to him about it.  Let him know that you are hurt, and ask him any questions you have.  It's best to act when you have all the facts.

Hilary Swank is another one who often gets compared to a male or whatever, but that girl has an amazing body, is an incredible actress and I do find her attractive. A lot of her magazine shoots or ads come out perfectly.

Ummm.... photoshop.  Everyone's magazine shoots or ads come out perfectly because photoshoppers spend days making them look like androids.

Of course, Hilary Swank is a sex bot, no lies.

Ok, I second some: James Spader, Mickey Rourke, Steve Buscemi, Mandy Patinkin, and Gregory Peck.

I add: Prince.  And, in that vein, Fred Armisen.

Weight Loss Do you have a reward in mind? Feb 25 2009

In order to keep myself motivated in the short term, I'm doing a shiny hair clip or new lipgloss every five pounds.  This ensures two things--I continue losing weight, and I don't spend all of my money on lipgloss and hair things.

I'll also do a whole wardrobe re-vamp once I hit my goal weight, and I'll probably go to an all-night DANCE PARTY.  For said dance party I am going to get me a slutty tastefully revealing outfit and dance like crazy!

Sorry, gotta say it: be careful.  I'm all for the hump and dump, but just keep in mind that more than one in five Americans has genital herpes.  And having oral sex with more than five partners increases your chance of throat cancer by 250%.  And you could always find a crazy who will light you on fire.  So, just be careful out there.  Enjoy the heck out of it, but be careful.

If I'm feeling highbrow, I read Dorothy Parker.  I like me some bitchy feminine sass.

If I'm feeling lowbrow, I watch America's Next Top Model.  I like me some bitchy feminine sass.

I think about plucking my eyebrows.  And then I don't.

Me too, me too!  I went swimming three times.  The first time was great.  The second time, I perforated my eardrum from going off a diving board and found out that I had an ear infection from the first time. The day after I went swimming the third time I got the flu, and I'm still in recovery.

I really, really want to go jogging and/or rollerskating, but I know that I'm sick precisely because I was pushing myself so hard before.  I've also lost a lot of water weight, and I'm not looking forward to seeing it come back.

I miss jogging so much!  I'm in Denver, where it's actually been much much nicer than your neck of the woods, but I have been mall walking, too.  The other day I spent 3 hours walking in a circle around the mall with my boyfriend, talking and such.  Afterwards, our feet were raw.  :C  I miss jogging.

I have been doing workout videos, too.  They're kind of fun, but, still, not the same.

jmharju-- I totally did the same thing!  But I was kicking the daylights out of the cast of CSI: NY.  They know what they did.

I have an ear infection and I've been pushing myself.  Now I'm starting to develop a very annoying sore throat/cough, and in addition I am sore all over.  I think it might be best to rest a bit before adding new stress to your already taxed immune system/body.

If I hadn't been working out so much I would probably be healed of my ear infection AND my throat would be ok.  Learn from my mistakes!

If you feel you carry your weight badly, then it might be worth your time to start weight training.  Building muscles might help.  But that would also have to be done with an increase in calories, just to make up for the calories you burn doing so.

The link gi-jane posted is really good.  I would suggest going there.

If you don't learn from your mistakes, you will be on a perpetual "diet" all your life.

Ah, that's so good.  I've never thought of it that way.  If we don't learn now to pick ourselves back up, we will have to learn later.  Or we will forever be doomed to dietland.  So true!

I_startedthefire-- You can do it.  If you can stick with it for two months, you can recover from a teeeeeeny tiny day.  Really, the worst part of overeating is the self-anger.  So why not spare yourself?  Instead, you can reward yourself for being so nice to you with a delicious grapefruit.  And, as mommakitty said (I'm paraphrasing): If you don't learn to recover now, you're gonna have to learn later.

I weight daily, in the mornings.  It's come to the point where it's almost like a ritual.  (I won't go into details, for your sake.)  It's hard for me to keep from hopping on the scale every time I walk into the bathroom to look in the mirror.

Plus, I've started bribing myself with a new lipstick or shiny hair clip for every five pounds lost, and I want to know as soon as possible!

Ugh @ your coworkers.  Ugh.  You are lucky, for the sake of your job, that you are not the sort of person to make snappy comments to rude coworkers.  How did you react?

In other news, I am the proud owner of 18 grapefruits.  Well, 17 and a half (mmm, so good).  They're 8 for $1 at Sunflower Market in Denver, so I splurged crazy and lugging them around was so worth it.  Mmmmm.

Ginger is a well-known stomach tamer, so perhaps that's why you're hearing gingerale.

I would just say that if it lasts much longer you might want to go see the doctor.  I don't think it's normal to have a stomach ache for a week, but I could be wrong.  It's just a thought.

Sweet potato + avocado = HEAVEN

By "roast," do you mean you stick it in the oven until it's cooked, or do you have a more advanced roasting technique?

I've been eating a LOT of fruits.  I can't stay away from them!  I've been trying to eat more vegetables, and my favorite way to have them is veeery slightly boiled--5 seconds for spinach, a minute for broccoli--and then salt and pepper.  I also have grown to love plain chicken breast and plain tuna.  I keep my tuna intake fairly low, though, because mercury is not my friend.

I'm glad you've found something that works for you!
