You definitely need to tell the waiter to have your selection prepared w/o butter or oil.  I like getting my meats blackened - just for the spiciness.  That can be done w/o added fats and is very good if you like spicy food.  :D Jen

There are so many things that you can do to get in control of this.

1. keep a journal - write down what you eat, when and WHY you are eating.  If you are snacking all day - figure out the feelings you are having when you are eating.  Also, if you find that you are eating every time you do a certain activity - like watching TV or surfing the net, chew gum or something else.  It is so easy to associate food w/activities.  We get into the activity and can just taste food and want it immediately.

2. If you are eating more with the hubby - such as meals - serve his on a dinner plate and yours on a saucer.  I find I eat much less that way. I have a bf who can eat WHATEVER he wants and never gain a pound, so that is my solution.  I eat a lot of the same things - just much less.

3. Plan your snacks.  I would eat all day if given the chance.  Therefore, I plan my snacks every morning.  I pack munchies (carrots, celery, almonds) in snack bags and have them ready to grab.  There is always yogurt and string cheese in my fridge.  I am a carb freak - so I always keep high fiber low cal bread choices around (english muffins, bread and mini bagels).  Apples and bananas are such an easy fruit to keep around and grab. 

4. Set a time limit for your eating - example - breakfast 6:30am snack 10:00am lunch 1:00pm snack 4:00pm dinner 6:30pm and if there are enough calories left, and you are still hungry, have a snack around 8:30.  Some people find that they do much better on a strict schedule.

It sounds like you have true desire and motivation to lose your weight.  The great thing is that you have done it before, so you know that it can be done again.  Good Luck and I hope this helps some.  :D Jen

We have all been there at some point during our journey to a healthier life.  I was there a few days ago and have been terrified to step on the scales.  NO matter what though, I will get on them tomorrow morning. 

Wake up tomorrow and tell yourself that you will stick to healthy eating, that you deserve healthy food!  It took a lot of determination for me, but once I made it through one day, it was so much easier to get back into the routine.

Do not be too hard on yourself for a fall back. Many of us will have a slip several times in our efforts.  That's okay, we are human.  The main thing is that you get right back in step!

Tell yourself that you can do this and will do this.  Best of luck - I know how hard it is.  :D Jen

Cats - 3(yes, a cat named 3), M (she's siamese and full of cattitude.), Pebbles (the baby) and an old stray that comes around that I call Matt Floyd.  (He actually answers to that.)

Dog - Buddy - cocker spaniel who died of old age last year.  I also liked to call him Ritalin boy.

Hamster - Junior - buried in the front yard.  He lived a good long hamster life!

Also, once I bought (and devoured) a dark chocolate KitKat - the wafers and everything inside was chocolate and it was pure heaven!  I've never seen them since!Cry

Grilled Chicken Sandwich - no mayo add pickles and a side salad w/lite dressing.  I sometimes take half the chicken, lettuce and tomato off the bun, cut it up and put it on my side salad.

Amen to green tea!  I have some that is strawberry-orange flavored and love it!

I also like adding South Beach flavor packets to my water.  The tropical flavor is my favorite!

I keep a bag of frozen sliced peppers and onions in the freezer to saute up w/my egg whites.  I also add in mushrooms and whatever cheese I am in the mood for.  Don't limit your spices to just salt and pepper.  I have a steak rub that I will sometimes sprinkle on.  Or, top your egg whites with salsa!

The extra sweat increases your personal "smell" and cats are more comfortable if you smell like them.  Therefore, they are probably loving on you b/c you have been paying attention to something else, and getting you back to smelling like them - which is the ultimate goal!  They have very strong glands right above their eyes, so if you notice especially that they are angling their heads and rubbing them on you, they are trying to get your smell back to normal (in cat terms).

My crazy kitty gets under me while I do pushups.  Each time I come down I have to give her a kiss.  It has turned into the most fun game ever.

The only equipment I own are a set of hand weights.  I do crunches - 15/2reps, criss cross bicycle crunches - 30/2 reps, bent leg knee raises - 15/2 reps, standing side bends w/weights - 30/2 reps. 

That is my morning quick 15 min. routine.

I still use my flavored cream in coffee every morning.  I know that stuff must be  horrible on the nutrition scale, but I can't drink coffee w/o it.

I lost weight using a combo of Leslie Sansones Walk Away the Pounds and a Pilates tape called belly  buns and thighs.  I like Walk away because it is super easy - you don't need mounds of co-ordination to perform it.

I also like Core Rhythms Latin Dance program.  I can really feel the burn in my abs  and arms after those DVDs.
