Don't know about the bra size, but I would bet that your jeans have shrunk!! A lot. I have several pants that I could wear snugly when I was 135 and now that I'm 123ish, the pants don't fit at all. Go try on some new ones!! |

I'm going to address a question you didn't really ask, and say that you should see if there's something you can do about this nasty PMS thing, because that sounds bad. I never had any PMS symptoms till I switched birth control pills, and then I realized how bad it could be. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about it. I know it's SO hard to control yourself when you feel that way! Try to drink lots of tea and water. I don't think a few days of eating 200-300 over maintenance would make you gain too much - a few ounces, maybe, which would hardly be noticeable. |

If you've got the extra cash, go to a spa and splurge one of those spray-on tanning sessions - you know, like the self tan from a bottle, only they do it way better - and if you have the courage, do it naked - it looks great. If you don't have the $, and I usually don't, go ahead and buy a good bottle of self tanner, and do it yourself. It makes you feel like running around in a bikini is something you do everyday! |

I think it's also important to remember that photos don't capture the essence of a person very well sometimes. If you thought you looked attractive and sexy, chances are that other people around you thought that too, because there's a lot more that goes into being attractive (how you move, how you talk, what you say, etc.) than can be captured in a photo. |

I think you made the right decision - but I have one piece of advice - sorry if I'm repeating something someone else said, but it is very, very important that you know where this guy is, and get some form of child support from him - even if you think he will be unable to pay at the present, get everything in place, get papers drawn up to say he owes a certain amount every month, because those kids, dear as they are to you, are expensive, and get more so as they get older. I think most cities have Legal Aid that will help out with this because I know lawyers are terribly expensive. Do NOT think you have to do this by yourself. I am speaking from my ownexperience!!! Good luck. |

| Weight Loss | If you have lost a lot of weight, how do new people react when they find out that you used to be obese? | Jan 11 2009 14:15 (UTC) |

My best friend used to be 100 lbs heavier than she was when I met her. Of course she didn't bring it up right away, but when I did realize my only thoughts were, wow, what a lot of hard work and will power! If anything it made me admire her more. I really think most people will react like this. |

Thanks octo-luv, for the reply. Is there a kind of weight lifting that targets your legs? I don't have access to a gym, but I have weights I use for upper body workouts. |

Oops, don't know how I sent the blank one - sorry! Here is my question - I have lost nearly 25 lbs in the last 6 months and I am happy with my weight - I'm 5' 5" and 122 lbs. But the tops of my thighs stick out so much - like I have big flabby saddlebags. I do Pilates, and I run/jog/walk on an incline at least 3x a week. I feel like the shape of my legs has actually gotten worse since I started eating better/ exercising more. I'm kind of toned the way I think i ought to be everywhere else, and I don't really want to lose more weight. Short of lipo, which I won't do (too $$$ and risky) any suggestions? |

Just a comment on the wheat/oats question - my daughter has to completely avoid all gluten (mainly found in wheat and barley), and from my understanding, although oats do not contain gluten, they are processed right alongside wheat products, so they end up "contaminated". Supposedly there is at least one company now that guarantees their oats are gluten free. It is probably not enough to worry about for you, but there are some people who will have a gluten reaction to regular oats. |

Everyone's had good ideas - here's one more - avoid pants and buy a couple of stretchy skirts with an elastic waistband if you can - I have some that I have worn anywhere from 128 lbs to 150 lbs. |

| Weight Loss | do i have a piece of cake or no? | Dec 07 2008 01:40 (UTC) |
|
This is just my own take on the situation - when I start feeling I don't like cake, it's really because I am trying hard not to get restarted on a sort of food addiction. So, I either explain this as in, "it looks great but i've discovered that ____ is a huge trigger for me and I can't stop once I start " or I try to rethink my rigid food "rules" and challenge myself to look at cake in a more healthy way - have a small slice and then forget about it. |

| Weight Loss | Thirsty!! | Nov 08 2008 01:39 (UTC) |

It's probably good to be checked - but it also could be that with the colder weather (depending where you live) people turn on the heat, and it is usually dry heat, making the humidity in the air much lower. This could contribute to your thirst. |

I heartily agree with misskady's post, and would like to add that I think it is great Obama has come this far, not only because I support his ideals but also because I think it demonstrates that many people in this country are able to judge a person objectively and intelligently, without paying any attention to the color of his/her skin. |

Well, but the fact is, he didn't marry her because he didn't love her - if he had, then I would really wonder about him. Two years may seem like a lot, but sometimes it takes a while to sort out your feelings, things are not always so simple. It is good that you can feel so empathetic towards his ex, and I don't have any idea what kind of guy your bf is, but just from what you said, he doesn't sound so terrible. |

You are doing great!! Just keep doing what you're doing, I bet you feel a whole lot better than you did this time last year, or even than a few months ago. I saw your pictures, and you look so good!! Just keep up the good work, this has happened to me and I've been able to keep the faith that the weight loss will continue, and it did. |

A child who has been diagnosed with autism should not be left to fend for himself. He needs to be tested within the school system if he hasn't been already and at the least, he may be entitled to a "shadow", an aide whose job it is to look after him. (I have an autistic daughter who is now 15.) |

I'm not sure about the actual weight, but I can tell you that sometimes my clothes feel tighter after I've been exercising consistently and well for a while - someone explained it to me like this: fat is sort of limp and squishy, so it's easy to stuff it into your jeans, but muscle is harder and less squishy (thank goodness) so your clothes might actually feel a little tighter. Made sense to me. |

| This solution is NOT SAFE to use while pregnant - but you might consider trying it first, before trying to get pregnant - I had acne my whole life and didn't find a cure until I was in my 20's and was prescribed accutane. You absolutely can not take it while pregnant, just want to make that clear. | |||

| Foods | Caffeine Withdrawal | Jul 16 2008 15:31 (UTC) |

| I have the same problem when I try to cut out caffeine from coffee. I buy regular and decaf coffee beans and mix them - 3/4 caf ,1/4 decaf for a couple of days, then 1/2 and 1/2 etc until after a couple of weeks I'm just using decaf. You could do the same with soda - use diet if you want - there's regular pepsi and caffeine free, and mix them at different ratios until you're just drinking decaf. It may sound like a lot of bother, but if you've ever dealt with days of caffeine withdrawal headache, this is really the best way to go! | |||
