Hey Deb- we have almost the same exact goals/age/start date etc :) I am glad you are joining us! I totally know what you mean about keeping it off- I am a pro at dieting, then I hit my goal and think I can eat what I want- it just doesn't work that way, and once I hit 30 it all started going down hill!

Ciaraellen- you need a balanced diet- whether you research on the web, look at other cc's posts or check out a book, no one is going to be able to give you a perfect eating plan- we don't know your likes and dislikes, financial status, and availability of various foods to you Laughing there is so much useful info on this site if you can just take the time to research. Your body NEEDS fats, healthy fats like nuts, olive oil, peanut butter (natural is best) etc. You should be eating around 1800 calories a day, given your age and activity level. as said before, if you don't eat enough, you will damage your growing body, and possibly your metabolism. I know it can be confusing, but please do your research, and we are all hear to help you as well!!

That is correct! it takes 3500 calories to gain or lose each pound, so if you keep a 6000 deficient, you will lose roughly 2 pounds!

I totally know the feeling, but remember what your goal is- to be healthy and you will only taste those silly little tots for a few seconds! If you decide not to eat the tater tots, you have WON the battle!! Just think of how good it feels when you wake up the next morning and remember you didn't cave and eat the snack! You can do it, chug some water, and you can conquer the craving~ Oh also most cravings only last about 10 minutes Cool And if you did decide to munch... we still love ya!

I am a vegetarian (I have had horrible stomach issues) but I can eat some fish, so I usually eat oatmeal for breakfast or a power bar, then a sandwich with fake Laughing lunch meat on a pita, and either fish or tofu for dinner. Luckily tofu is fairly low in calories, and I have figured out how to make it taste better. Sometimes I drink a slimfast shake on the way to school too. I can't always stay at 1200 calories, but I try. I lost all of my weight about a year ago, felt great, then last fall I had to take prednisone (sp?) last fall when I got sick, so that along with sitting on my butt and studying for hours daily made me gain back everything I lost. So here I am again~ I joined groups like this before, and they were amazing for the compeditive side in me!

Hello everyone! I totally need this challenge! I will start now, I did weigh in on Monday, so I can add that too. I would love to lose 20 lbs by Labor day- maybe more?  I am 5'7" and 190lbs. I want to lose 40-50 lbs, so here I go:

Week 1 (June 23rd)- 190

If it's alright with you girls, I would love to join in too!! I want to lose somewhere between 30-40, but at this point 30 sounds sweet!! I am shooting for 1200 calories on the days I don't work out, and more on the days I do (of course) I lost 30 lbs on here before, so I know it works!! I will add you both to my friends list!

You need more calories for sure!! 1400 calories is ok if you are sedentary, and not exercising at all, but if you are doing boot camp (or especially 2 classes) you need to up your calories to compensate for that, or your body will start holding onto anything you put into it! Some of the tools can be helpful, if you add in your exercise classes under activities, it should tell you how many calories you need ~ Good luck, this stuff can be a little confusing at first :) Good job with working out and eating right~ I agree with Ashley too, your body is trying to tell you it's hungry and needs more nutrition :)

Welcome both of you!! I have been a member off and on for over 2 years, this site is amazing- the community, the information and way this site is set up is so user friendly! There are a couple of really great articles here:

These are both wonderful sources of information. I will add you both to my friends list, and please feel free to ask any member questions, we are here to help! One thing I love is how I can tag my food, both by individual items, category (like "snacks" or "beverages") or I can tag an entire meal that I eat a lot like "oatmeal" then I tag everything I put into my oatmeal, and it makes it a lot faster! I hope this helps a bit- we are glad you are both here, and I hope you find this site as helpful as I do!! Oh by the way, I lost over 40 lbs with the help of this site!

Welcome back!! I too just came back with some weight to lose (again) the important thing is that we found our way back, and have all of the tools to do this! Just to answer your question- yes you can lose without going to the gym daily, I wasn't able to do a whole lot of exercise, but lost 45lbs, on a 1200 cal diet. Maybe you can take your baby for walks as the weather improves? Good luck and welcome back!!!

Sicknes69- I hate running too, but am trying to get back into it as well with the learn to run program. So far it's reasonable, and not too tough- good luck to you, and lets keep it up!!! I want those runners legs!

Kallie- I think you should contact him- do it while you have the chance- I think if I was in your situation, I would deeply regret not being able to just thank him for the memories, and let him know that he is in your thoughts. I have had 3 surgeries, every b/c on the market, and tried lupron- I agree- horrible!! I Have in the past been prescribed vicoden- but right now am only taking ibuprofin- I experience pain 2 weeks out of the month, and some days it is just so painful. I have been told by my doctor, that I will need a historectomy, but I am not ready for that one yet!! Good luck girls- I feel your pain!!

I have endometriosis as well, I was diagnosed 10 years ago- I sometimes can't stand up strait either. I agree that exercising does help- but it is sometimes so hard when the pain is so bad!! Just wondering- what kind of pain pills do you take?? Mine don't seem to work sometimes, and I wonder if there is something better out there- I am going to see a new doc for the first time next month, and may ask if I can try something different. Have either of you had surgery?
