| Pregnancy & Parenting | My cervix is closed up like Fort Knox!!!! | Feb 13 2009 04:06 (UTC) |

I'm not pregnant, but my big sister is. And if it makes you feel any better, she currently has a cerclage (which she is getting removed tomorrow!) to prevent labor because she has a weakened/incompetant cervix. She was 4-5 cm dilated at 20 weeks. And now she's worried that once she gets the cerclage removed, she won't dilate at all and he won't want to come out! :) Hang in there! It will all be okay and when you finally have your baby, it will be totally worth it (just like for my big sis!) And I'm sure he (or she) will be beautiful. :) |

I totally understand what you are saying! And I agree! My advice is to just not listen to other people tell you, if it makes you feel bad about yourself! :) I have a problem with binge-eating too. Sometimes, I just feel like I can't stop. I've learned to control it by keeping a food diary- I carry a small notebook and write down everything. It makes you more aware of what you are eating. I also have stopped buying my binge foods - things like French bread and sugary cereal and things like that! I think you are right that right now, most of the pressure to be thin comes from peers. I'm a former gymnast and I was 5'1" and 96lbs when I was 16 (my last year of gymnastics) and I was called "big" by a lot of my teammates - and by my coaches. I just ignored them though and did my best and I may not have been the best gymnast, but I loved it and I didn't try to kill myself because of it! Good luck with overcoming everything you've been through - exercise bulimia and binge-eating. I believe in you! :) |

@ toastyocie - she might just have a small body frame. Plus, in some clothes, I can fit into a 3-4 and in others, I fit into a 6-8 or 8-10.
@ lanner - you do not weight to much! You are probably mostly muscle since you play softball! When i did gymnastics, I was 5'1" and around 95lbs and it was almost all muscle (and I was called "big" in gymnastics) Now I'm around the same weight as you and I think you are just fine the way you are. Just eat healthy, keep your activity level up, and you will be fine. :) |

| Young Calorie Counters | What do u do when youv'e eaten badly all day? | Feb 11 2009 03:10 (UTC) |

I tell myself to do better tomorrow and I stick to it: stick to your plan, don't do anything to "make up" for a bad day because you'll only be punishing yourself which isn't the point of being healthy! Just strive to take each day as it comes and don't beat yourself up if you don't do everything perfectly. Never tell yourself what you "should have" done - that's judging yourself and it only causes anxiety. Tell yourself you'll do yoga tomorrow and eat better, rather than what you "should have" done. :) (I had a cookie today and then felt guilty - so I did some extra yoga and felt a lot better!) |
