The Lounge He Won't Marry Me: Update Dec 17 2009

I am so proud to be a woman, if there are still women in the world out there as strong as you. Its insanely difficult being a matriarch but kudos for you for not settling! the love of your life is out there and he would go to counseling for you, because you are worth it!

My sister is currently residing in her ex husbands hometown and now my niece is of school age and she cant move, mostly for financial purposes. It does suck being there, but I can promise that it will get easier so long as you continue to move forward. and if you ever need to talk to someone who has been there, you should totally pm me and id give you her facebook page.. cause shes alot like me and she enjoys helping esp if she can use the crappy experiences  shes been thru.. keep on truckin~!

I too have been scammed at a Wawa parking lot.. it really does make  you think how sick this world is. I live right next to philly so we often go into the city, we have bums walk up to us and ask us for change bc we look nice like we are going somewhere and OBVIOUSLY have money...

I tend to feel the person out though. Most times if someone is standing there ill give them a little something should I have it. For example, I used to keep a bag of snack packs of cookies, crackers granola bars etc, and I was driving out of the city when I saw a guy holding up a sign. I rolled down my window and handed him a bunch of the food I had and his eyes lit up, he was so grateful I almost cried. He too said Thank you so much maam, god bless you!.. ya esp when it says handicapped war vet you feel like p.o.s.

Not to get into this, but since it was asked... If you are a Christain technically it is right to give & do charitible things while we have so much and others dont. So if nothing else, i remind myself that I held up on my end of the deal. If the person is lying, GOD will take care of HIM himself =)

make your own hummus as well! Thats a great combo for people to try especially when its new to them. My mother in law loved the two together when she first tried it. Also maybe toasting some pita (maybe even season to taste!).. Kudos for making them try something new and taking the initiative to enjoy your holidays!

As far as your body itself, curves are sexy. Its part of being a woman. You're young healthy and beautiful. Instead of beating yourself up about eating too much, maybe you should go for a walk.

P.S> Roxanaroxi, most woman have a small"bump" on their stomach, it doesnt make us "fat" or out of shape.. Its the way genetics makes us up..

Alot of people say that the endorphins keep you from having a good nights rest. However, I did this all throughout H.S. and I never had a problem sleeping. As amethyst said, I'd give it a try and see how it makes you feel.

I'm making sure to remind her that she needs to get hers in this process(as you can imagine it ended badly =/)! I love how she got a huge response on Fbook but she said she'd rather give it to me bc she knows how much more use ill get out of it.. Time to start training for my marathon!

Weight Loss Losing weight without trying? Dec 03 2009

i know that maybe muscle maybe breaking down (you know the old "muscle is more dense than fat") so I find when this happens to me its partly being taken up by fat.. thats not to say i LOOK fat, but my body shifts to accomodate. BUT what you can do is to take it where it is now and slowly shift back into working out..If you dont do this soon than it wont be long before the weight begins to pile back on. This is the EXACT thing that happened to me two months ago..

besides that, try to drink some hot tea, or i do hot water with lemon. It really helps in the cold weather if your insides are warm lol I feel your pain. Best of luck on your journey!

Fitness 1% incline Dec 01 2009
23:27 (UTC)
Original Post by fitnessgirll:

run at at least 3 %. It's the most equivalent to running on a relative flat surface outside. I would also recommend alternating the incline and speed as you run since interval training is much better for your heart/lungs and burns more cals!

In case you needed a second opinion, Ive also heard this.

Even when i switch to outdoors its still a little difficult, but its a good starting point!

Weight Loss Breakfast Cereal Addiction! HELP~ Dec 01 2009

Gi-Janes advice is always good.. so id def listen to her. However an alternative if you so choose is to eat some fruit (water-rich perhaps) about a half hour before your cereal. That should fill you up slightly then when you do have your cereal, add some ground flax seed and maybe some more fruit and nuts! Thats what I do bc i eat like a beast in the morning and this seems to help. The flax and nuts provide the protein and fiber you need to fill you up while the fruit helps to bulk up the cereal so you feel like you eat more.

Ill make this short and sweet bc I can read between the lines unlike some people.

#1 kudos for your life change and effort!

Id suggest anything that is core related. Planks are the shizzies and so are Pilates (get a video and do them with your wife!) An overall strong core keep your posture good and bellyfat at bay. GL!

Fitness Back Dimples ? Nov 28 2009

I think those back dimples are SEXY! when i do core workouts, thats when they seem to appear the most. Other than pilates I do what are called "supermans"

Its a little tough but it works! (p.s. strong core = less belly fat)

stabilize your midsection on a stability ball, feet against a wall. walk the ball out til its comfortably under your pelvic bone. bend 45 degrees towards the ground and lift arms straight up into the air. 3 sets of 15 to start with. lemme know how they work out for you!!

Fitness Eating pre/post am workout Nov 23 2009

hey UD,i usually do an english muffin, toast or banana with peanut butter before workout. and some nuts or protein smoothie after (if any).

i guess my major concern would be if i should be eating more ahead of time with more time in between and less after my run? since im trying to train my body to use food as fuel, im kind of at a loss bc ive only ever ate soley for the premise of caloric intake. So I'll def take your advice Dave about eating 60 mins ahead of time. Any other advice is def appreciated though =)

Ridoking, job well done completing the 5 miles! And good luck with finding the right program to aid you in competing a marathon =)

Peppers, Onions, Bok Choy. Crispy noodles (sprinkle on after! But lightly as they do have a higher calorie content when taken in big protion) I'll even do zucchini or yellow squash and green beans. Throw it over some brown rice and you've got yourself a pretty balanced meal =)

I was surprised to hear from alot of my friends that they admire me and wish they were as "independent" as me. Its a nice thing to hear especially when you are always so hard on yourself. I'm proud of my accomplishments esp coming from my background, but I also there is more that I can and probably should do...

like some of the others said, we all have our demons and things that we'd love to change about ourselves, physically and emotionally. But overall, I'm learning its important to really love myself. like TRULY.
