I'm assuming you've been logging your weigh regularly on the website. Do you leave comments with each log? I weigh myself everyday and log it. I know daily weigh-ins are not for everyone since some people get discouraged from the normal small fluctuations that happen on the way down, but I really enjoy tracking each day first thing each morning, and everyone should log their weight at least once a week. I also do a quick one or two sentence comment about what happened the day before, what I struggled with and what went great. I had a month or so streak where I was doing exactly what you were doing - going back for snacking on leftovers, desserts, anything I could find in the kitchen. And my weight loss progress (or lack thereof) showed this. I was so frustrated!!! At one point I was so discouraged from not losing weight I went back and read the comments I had made during the past few weeks. Each comment included something like, "Snacked too much", or "Ate seconds but didn't need to", or "Dang sweet tooth got the better of me" or other things. I was basically indulging all my desires and was still disappointed when I didn't lose weight. The reality is, if you want to lose (or maintain) weight bad enough, you will make a grown-up decision to stop over eating. You've already identified the weakness, so you know exactly what you're doing. Learn to make a connection between the choices you make and the consequences that follow. Good luck! I KNOW you can do this! It's so worth it and you'll feel so great when you do! |

I had done it once before about a year and a half ago and LOVED it! I took the following year and a half off and now just started up again and did week 2 day 1 last night. It really is an amazing program. It's truly made for people who haven't run one bit but are curious about it. If you dive in to running full steam for 20 minutes without any background in running, you'll be so miserable followed by days of pain and soreness that you'll give up thinking running is not for you. But this program gently breaks in your body that's not used to it and shows you what you're actually capable of. It's great! What I would like to know more about are the podcasts. They actually come with music? Is it good music (I know that's based on individual preference - I guess I mean is it modern, catchy with great rythym)? Do you download one run at a time or is it all in one package and you just pause it between runs? Thanks everyone! |

I had my surgery exactly a year ago. The 6-8 weeks was not enough in my opinion overall. I did get back into my aerobics classes after about four weeks, but didn't do weights until way after the 8 week period. My chest felt very tight. And I absolutely could not do push-ups, chest flys, the plank, or many other things that use those muscles that they put the implants under for about six months. Your muscles are already stretched so tight over the implants, that to really stress them with the weights was just too much for me. But I'd like to end on a good note. It was the best decision I ever made. I love them! My surgeon did a poor job placing them and the implants have since sunk below the incision line and it's very obvious that I have implants in, but only me and my boyfriend know that. From the outside my body is beautiful! And they say you'll have to have a follow up surgery after you have children so I plan on just having them fixed then. I am still happy with them! |

| Weight Loss | Anyone else trying to lose weight for a wedding? | Feb 19 2009 19:40 (UTC) |

I am in the same situation as a previous poster who is not engaged yet but will likely be soon (within 2009). I would love to be at my goal weight when I am proposed to! Ideally the engagement pictures shouldn't be tremendously different than the wedding pictures (as far as my weight goes) so I would like to be at goal weight when I become engaged. Then I can spend my engagement toning up and maintaining to be ready for our wedding day. Fingers crossed! PS. I'm absolutely LOVING this website! |
