Weight Loss I'll be 43 this June anyone around the same age want to join my weight loss quest? Nov 27 2009

Hi again,

Another week has past so quickly that is hard to believe it's Friday again.

Have forgotten to weight in this morning but last night at the gym surprisingly I was 76kg or 167,54lbs.

The thing I am trying to figure out is: does eating more then I was still makes me lose weight?

As I said in m last post I was not counting calories for about 1 week and last Monday I have started again, but with a more relaxed eating then before and here and there I must say I have reached about 2000c for 1 or 2 days. However, the scale went down.

What can I learn from that?

How was Thanks Giving by the way? We do not have the celebrations over here.

Wish you all a good week

xox

Hi everyone,

Sorry I didn't post last week, stress is all around I'm afraid. Have had few days off work last week and decided to redecorate my bedroom ... needless to say, the one day job become a monster of four days and ate all my rest!

Have had one entire night of sleep in 9 days, and of course, going through another cold again!

I am not counting my calories on CC for about a week, haven't put on any weight nor loss., must say that I am eating way much more than usual and I am planning to go back on CC this coming Monday.

I am trying to not over eat, but I eat whatever I feel like. For a couple of days I have had corn thin with peanut butter for breakfast and it's soooo filling! Never hungry at lunch time and another thing I had as well is beef, not very fond of red meat to be honest, but it's really filling.

I have an issue with my personal trainer and I need to change, but I have a communication problem and can never make myself clear, worst than that, she always turns the situation in her favour, twisting everything. Damn it!

Those were my updates, have some other topics, but will let it for another time.

The water thing; I try to drink at least 1 litre while working out, it goes easily and if I just have other 3 or 4 glasses during the day, at bed time it will be 2l.

Terry - 184lbs - No change

Kathryn ~ 200 - Up 2.5

Cynthia - 176.4 - down 0.6

Simone - 78kg - 78kg (at the gym I weight 76, and today 74 when I left) I love that scale!!!

hmmm,

I've been thinking a lot but not able to transform my thoughts into words yet.

The gym scale last week was trying to be kind, but my excitement didn't last.

Simone - back to 77kg or 169.75lbs up 1kg or 2.20lbs

Terry - 185 (same old, same old)

Thanks everyone for the thoughts, it was a big help.

Have had a busy day yesterday and completely forgot to weight in in the morning. After a week off the gym supported by my cold yesterday I popped in just for 30 minutes of cardio and decided to weight myself there ... surprise ... surprise

Sandy - 146.4 (-1.6)

Terry - 185 (same)

Cynthia - 179.6 (down 0.4)

Simone - 76kg or 167.54 - 1.5kg or 3.30 loss

Should I thank the cold, the increased amount of calories or the scale of the gym? Not sure yet, but will have to wait for another week.

Right.

I have a personal trainer once a week.

We do strength and weight on that day. On my own I do cardio 2 days a week and cardio and weight another 2 days a week, and on Saturdays I do cardio and Pilates or Water aerobics.

Overall since last May I have lost 48cm in measurements and I feel fitter, still, not able to run though.

As she has aimed I should reduce my body fat to 23%, I question myself how am I going to get there at this pace.

I know it may vary and a lot of factors must be taken in consideration.

Having said that, I am not happy or I just do not understand how it works.

I work out 6x a week and counting calories since last February. My body fat loss was 2.85% from 22/05 to 21/10.

Is that slow?

Any chance to speed it up?

Weight Loss How much should i really be eating? Oct 24 2009

Yes,

Unfortunately I share the same disgrace that you are on.

The thing is, I am 95% sure about what I eat and how much I intake, what I do not know is how much I really burn.

For that, I posted yesterday for some advice and so far no good has come out of it.

Sorry for not bringing you light, but you are not alone.

What is you take on my post?

Ok, I need some support here.

I have signed on CC first time last February, the 19th. So far so good, with ups and downs, plateaus, etc, etc, etc.

Late April when my first plateau hit me I was told I had to work out, otherwise I would never reach my goal. Fair enough.

I joined the gym with no will power whatsoever, (I just don't like it!). Few weeks later a personal trainer hooked me and since then I have her once a week.

Those are my test results so far:

22/05/09 16/06/09 30/07/09 21/10/09 total loss

weight 85kg 85kg 81kg 78,5kg 6.5kg

body fat 39.66% 39% 38.3% 36.81% 2.85%

back 44cm 43cm 41cm 40.5cm 3.5cm

chest 109cm 109cm 107cm 106cm 3cm

arms R 32, L 32cm 30.5 ,30.5cm 30, 30cm 29,28cm 3,5cm

waist 98cm 93cm 90cm 87cm 11cm

abdomen 114cm 113cm 106cm 107cm 7cm

upper legs R 64, L 64cm 62, 62cm 60, 60cm 60, 60cm 4cm

all over the body: 48cm

PS. I work out 6,5 days a week, average 75minutes

My first goal when I start the gym was: reduce body fat to 23%, improve posture and loose 15kg (CC says 20kg and I disagree).

The question is: Is it good enough?

Honestly, I have no idea. Worst, I found a trigger which is way too naughty, but it works.

Have done it for the second time already, I go way under the 1200c ... lets say 800c a day for a week or so and it works wonders!!! The side effect is: I always come down with something, normally a cold.

Have started the kellogg's 2 meals a day a week ago and do not sleep for 3 nights, coughing and cold. All at once.

I am not really seeking recriminations or someone to tell me off because I am so stupid for doing that. I just want to know about you guys, how long does it take to get there? I have notice that you are all here for quite a long time, for that I am crying out loud

Thanks for being so understanding.

I am aware that this is a lifetime commitment and the GOOD changing lifestyle I pursue will have to stick for ever if I wish longevity for my achievements.

Still, it frustrate me that a week on calorie intake advised 1920c a day will make me put on weight.

Maybe I do not burn as much calorie as I think, nevertheless I am way under my intake limit.

Thank you all for the warming welcome!

Unfortunately my first weight in is no good. Have put on 2kg and I know why.

Have increased my daily intake calories and it didn't work as I thought it would. Tomorrow I will be back to my regular intake and hopefully this undesired weight will fade away.

Terry – 186 – No change

Kathryn ~ 197.5 - Down .5

Cynthia - 180.0 - up 1.6

Sandy - 150 - wow I lost something!

Simone - 80kg or 176.36 (my apologies, but I can't think in lbs!)

I am so sorry to be a pain in the neck, but ... this Saturday morning I had to weight again and surprise surprise! 79kg or 174.16lbs!!!

It's such a HUGE difference! (I know it's not, being cheecky!)Tongue out

Hopefully the weight will come out until Wednesday (have started the kellogg's two meals a day today) because I will be measured and weighted by my Personal Trainer. Very excited about it!

Hi there!

I am originally from Brazil (Sao Paulo), but I live in Europe for about 9 years. Since 2004 home is England, London.

The CC says my goal weight is 65kg which I find impossible to reach.

My personal ideal goal would be just under 70kg I think.

So, I just have 10kg to go, right ? Hard work!

Thanks for your reply and interest.

Have a good weight loss day!

Hi there,

This is my first attempt to join a community, wish me luck!

I have started on CC on February the 18th 2009. Back there I was 100kg or 220.45lbs. Sick of being overweight and not able to find a light at the end of the tunnel CC was way too easy? good? to be true or believe.

Not very fond of take away nor ready meals, the evil to kill was the fattening fat and sugar on chocolates, biscuits, ice-cream, cakes ... pretty much everything good I have always enjoyed to cook and eat. Have always had good eating habits as well as the bad ones, so I had to get rid of the bad ones and find a balance.

So far so good, with all the struggles, ups and downs as everyone I am growing strong ... and not on the sides!

Have turned 41 last August 1,70m or almost 6ft, I weight now 78kg or 171.95lbs. Have I lost 48.49lbs or just about 22kg??? Yes I did!

CC says I still have a long way to go and it's true. My calorie coach puts me down everyday, but I don't give up.

Someway, somehow I will get there, or close, it will be good enough for me.

Cheers everyone!

Original Post by skowlundj:

to Shakti411: I'm not too familiar with all of the outlines of a raw vegan diet - but beans are low in sugar, high in fiber (to keep you full) and should help a lot with keeping you full! Also don't forget veggies high in fiber (broccoli) - those are lower in cals and will help you to feel full, instead of just amping up on nuts! Also - banana's and pineapple (especially juice as you mention) are some of the fruite with higher sugar levels. Maybe try raspberries, or rhubarb, which are low in sugar and high in fiber!  :o)

Hope that helps some!

Weight Loss Do Obese People Who Start Losing Weight Lose Rapidly at First? Aug 23 2009

Yes it does, unfortunately.

From February 18th when I signed in CC until about the end of  April I had lost about 10kg or 22lbs and then I have reached my first plateau and it was hard.

I am a social drinker so, can't advise in this subject, but you should get ready for the darker times.

The weight loss will slow down progressively and you will have to increase your activity level in order to keep losing weight.

Find the amount of calories you feel comfortable with. Time will teach you how much you should eat.

Against all the advisers here I have chosen to follow what my body is telling me and however my weight loss is still slow, it is steady yes.

I am working out up to 6 days a week and all my fat loss is being replaced with muscles I had no idea I had.

Read, ask, search, but most of all ... listen to your body and keep going, all the hard work is worth, you will see.

good luck!

MAKE SOUP!!!

If you manage to make lets say, 10 portions to freeze on your first weekend, then you will have 3 portions spare.

In few weeks you can mix and match the left overs and in a month time you will be able to choose and have different options to choose.

Good luck!

Binge is a serious problem. But you have to believe in your will power and nothing helps more ( at least it helps me ) is not having high calories surrounding me.

Take each day as it comes and do what the other poster have told you, keep active and plan your meals in advance.

Good luck!

I was told I should reset my data and not consume more than 1200cal a day HERE, so I am trying hard to stick with it.
