Hi great advice. I'm starting over after losing 18.8 pounds and down 4 pant sizes. Have maintained but would like to get to my goal weight of 145-150. My big problem is getting started again. I feel great and everyone says that i look good, but i know i need to lose ~35 lbs. It's just the motivation issue right now especially about food. have started working out again and will give it a week then start on my eating habits. wish me luck

Agree with 5327, great before and after. I am now a firm believer in not falling for a quick fix, cut down on calories and exercise, what a concept. I am 46 and have had many years of dieting, torture etc. something clicked on  Feb 20th 2009, it's like my eyes opened and BAM 14 lbs down and still going, slow and steady. Decrease calories and increase exercise, it's working for me

Thanks

I LOVE spinning, i spin 2x week from 1200-1300, burning 700-800 calories according to my F11 HRM. of course i weigh 192 and am 5'3" so will burn more than nire00. It does get easier with time but all you have to do is turn up the resistance.

Fitness Elliptical vs Treadmill Apr 13 2009

Hi, I have both a treadmill and elliptical, and enjoy using lthem both and have seen results. With the elliptical my personal trainer said she doesn't mind if I use it as long as it is higher that a 7 , so i warm up and then put it on random with 7 being the lowest, after an hour i am dripping wet. i have the Precor with the arms . As for the treadmill my knees also hurt at times so i usually walk at 4mph with increasing the incline every minute till it hits 12 then start to decrease, usually a 45 minute workout and again am dripping wet. Good Luck

NO i couldn't, i have lost 13 pounds since Feb 20 but have also increased my workouts, now i will change my calorie target and hopefully lose lots more Laughing

I bought a polar F11 and an F7 for my son, we both love the fact that it tells you how many calories it burns and keeps track of heart rate etc. It is very close to the CC activity calculator but i tend to be a little neurotic when it comes to numbers so the F11 fixes that issue with me. Anyway I LOVE MY F11

that is a good question because i work out every day also and do wonder if its too much?? but if i don't i feel sluggish all day. i do think your drained because of lack of sleep, that always wreaks havoc on me, but if your really tired i would take the day off , and REST TAKE A NAP

Good luck

Fitness Interest in HR monitor, but not sure what they're for Mar 11 2009

thanks for the info i will look at the F11, i can afford to spend a little more as i am saving by working out in my basement faithfully for past 3 months, no more gym memberships and the guilt of not being able to use them. i live ~25 miles out in the country and it's not practical for me to drive in the AM then come home and then go to work, i guess i could have hubby take our 3 year old in to preschool etc but it's a lot of $$$ for gas etc. so i am looking for a monitor as i am celebrating my goal of working out faithfully and losing 12 pounds
