thank you. i actually worked it out on a calculator (i know, i'm crazy right? lol... i guess i just don't like the idea of "messing up"), and it only came out to an extra 260 calorie a day... which i most likely missed over the pass week anyways. so, right now, as i type this, i am treating myself to a square of mint chocolate. mmmmm :D

| Foods | Anyone know of a healthy butter? | Jun 14 2009 19:35 (UTC) |

i've heard about a spray butter... although i've never used it. i think it was something like 5 sprays for 0 calories.... but that just means it's like 5 sprays for 4 calories, because nutrition labels count by 5's.... so don't go too overboard with it! but it's definitely going to be a lot less calories than what you're using now. good luck :]

to me, "over eating" is just going over your maintenance by a few hundred calories... and that could be with healthy food. i, on the other hand, went WAY over my maintenance, and ate really unhealthily.
i'm sorry that i think differently than you do. |

| Foods | Toast or Bread? | Jun 13 2009 21:42 (UTC) |

i think the reason why it comes out to be less after you toasted it, is because the water that was in the bread (making it weight more) evaporated. so i would log it in as bread - not toast, because water doesn't contain any calories, so even though it weighs less, it still has just as many calories as it did before toasting. |

ok, so i just came across this the other day, while i was trying to decide what, out of all the random things in my fridge, i wanted to put together into something that hopefully turned out to be food. oh, and did i mention... i had a REALLY big craving for pumpkin pie? well... i did.
so i got some plain canned pumpkin (3/4 cup = 60 calories) and mixed in some pumpkin pie spice to taste, and then, to make it sweet'n'yummy, i added a half a cup of vanilla fat free yogurt (about 50 calories). oh.my.goodness. it was amazing. and filling too! plus, it's just a bit over 100 calories. :] |

| Weight Loss | Lose 6 to 15 pounds in ten weeks - almost guaranteed - while you sleep... | May 18 2009 02:42 (UTC) |

i have no idea if it will work...
although, i know that when i'm tried (from staying up too late) i tend to eat more. i think it's because my brain is substituting my craving for sleep with a craving for food. so in that way i can see how more sleep would = weight loss. |

Original Post by marisahojnacki: i saw a mythbusters about putting metal in a microwave, and it got busted (the myth, not the microwave! lol). and i too pop my corn that way! except i don't use staples... not because of the worry of metal in the microwave, but because it's easier to just fold the top of the bag over about an inch. i'm lazy hehe.... |

yes, they do exist! as pills go, they're usually a little big... which bugs me a bit. however, you can get a pill cutter and make one big pill two not so big pills. :P |

i don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for.... but i just came up with the recipe today, and i'm very excited because of it! lol. get a cup of plan fat free yogurt (should be around 110 calories), then mix in 2 packets of mocha flavored splenda (it's supposed to go in coffee, but oh well :P ). then top with 1/4 - 1/2 cup raspberries, and then freeze! it is so GOOD! plus it's only about 125 - 140 calories, depending on how many raspberries you put in, AND since it's frozen, it takes quite a bit of time to eat.
also... when yogurt freezes it gets pretty hard.... i've found that it's easier to eat it with a fork instead of a spoon. XD |

i say go for it! i am also 5'4" and i've been both those weights (i'm now 117 and love it!). i could definitely see a difference in how my stomach looked after losing those 5 pounds (125 to 120), so i would definitely try it. but if you get to 120 and nothing's seemed to change, oh well! everyone is made differently, and is beautiful because of it. you've lost a lot of weight, and should feel proud of it! good job!

my daily meals vary quite a bit, but i've found these items to be very useful in keeping me full throughout the day. plus, they're quite low in calories and high in protein! first off, i am IN LOVE with bread! the only problem is, bread is usually high-ish in calories, and i like to eat a lot, so low-cal bread IS my best friend! :P orowheat makes a light bread that's only 80 calories for 2 (yes 2!) slices! sure they're not the biggest slices of bread you'll ever see, but i feel they're just enough to make me happy. another thing i really like is egg beaters. very low in calorie (30 per 1/4 cup), and high in protein, which will help keep you satisfied. other things i like that are quite low in calorie: frozen peaches (to satisfied your sweet tooth and they're a yummy cold snack, not to mention healthy), foster farms honey roasted turkey "lunch meat" (it's only 25 calories a slice! put 2 slices in a sandwich made with 80-cal bread, add in some lettuce, tomato and mustard, and you've got yourself a sandwich for under 150 calories!!! you can have 2 if you want, and it would still be less calories than most sandwiches!), salsa (i love to put some in my egg beaters. half a cup of egg beaters with a few tbs of salsa makes an omelet for less than 80 calories!), eating right soy protein burgers (only 70 calories! cut it up and add it to your omelet, SO, so good!), splenda with fiber (every packet has 1 gram of fiber in it, what more can i say?), tea, coffee, water.
hope this helped!
PS: i've actually found that using CC as a meal planners works better for me than trying to keep track of everything i put in my mouth. this way i can put together 5 or 6 meals (plus snacks!). |
