Well actually juust today I made cookies with a box of Betty Crocker Gingerbread cake and cookie mix. I made it with 1/4 cup hot water, 2tbsp all purpose flour and 2 tablespoons light I cant believe its not butter (like 50 calories per tablespoon). I measured out teaspoonfulls and baked them for 8-10 minutes at 375. Each cookie bakes about an inch wide and have 30 calories each. Its an easier way to limit yourself, and they are really good because theyre pretty much made the way they're supposed to be made. |

Well I don't think they taste very good but I remember hearing somewhere that if you do eat the peels to make sure they are organic because the peels tend to absorb all the pesticides. |

Although the best advice would be to just get out there and do it, I know how it feels to be self conscious about working out in public. Don't know if you are doing any wokouts right now but have you ever thought of trying a dvd? You can do it in the privacy of your own home. I would say try the bellydance videos by Dolphina, you can do it when no ones watching. It'll give you a workout, boost your confidence and get you comfortable with your own body and feeling like a goddess.! Then when you're ready, go for the out door activiies. Just dont let the "fear" of being spotted stop you from being active. |

Ha! Once halloween candy appeared in stores and I saw what can only be described as the vegetable kernels of the gods, all I could say was "Uh-oh" .... o.o Let's just say that between those and mini reeses cups I can see many sugar hyped nights... |

| I love these! My dad used to peel some for us when we were little and we'd eat them raw (honestly didn't even know people prepared them). The way we peel them is to cut off the top and the bottom then cut a vertical line from top to bottom only cutting the skin. Its messy work but afterwards we just simply slid our fingers between the skin and the fruit and discarded the skin. Only downside are the seeds. | |||

Original Post by eatthedaisies: eatthedaises....you are doing massive amounts of damage to your body.Next thing you know you'll be cold all the time and find your skin a mess and your hair falling out. Is it worth it? You are a very low weight for your height and especially being 17 years old and active! You know more than likely you've lost soooo much muscle from this. Please eat right, the minimum you should be eating is 1500 calories and thats if you were sedentary! Honestly you personally should be eating between 2000-2500 calories a day, or is it fun to just have to stare at your family eating delicious looking food and not being able to partake in it? Trust me, I've been there, I know what 300 calories a day feels like and theres absolutely no way it feels good! If you need support I'm glad to help, or message any of the wonderful people on cc. The most important thing is for you to realize what you're doing to yourself. Eating is a joy, dont deprive yourself of it. Edited Oct 07 2009 21:49 by coach_k |

Hello, I've done the p90x program and just want to say it's an awesomely challenging group of work outs you ladies are gonna love. I would say the best thing would be to invest in a heart rate monitor and figure from that how many calories you burn. What are your stats? Depending on the workout, I can burn from 250 to 370 calories. I'm 5'7", 126lbs and 20 yrs old. hope this helps. |

| Fitness | Shin Splints??? Maybe? | Aug 22 2009 00:47 (UTC) |

I have the p90x workouts and on one of the dvds Tony mentions shin splints. He has you do stretches that are supposed to help with them. You pretty much stan on one foot and the other foot is lifted off the floor, then you point with ur toe up then down for 10-15 times. Then you rotate at the ankle still pointing with the toe first clockwise then counter clockwise. Not sure if it completely works but I havent noticed any shin splints. |

Just think, a few pounds too many is a small price to pay for a beautiful family. Plus I bet your husband appreciates the curves you have, my sister just had a baby and has no problem showing off her larger "girls" :P You are strong enough for your children, just enjoy the now, there is nothing more beautiful than the sacrifices and struggles made by a mom. One day at a time! |

| Recipes | Diet Coke Cake | Jul 30 2009 06:58 (UTC) |

Okay so I thought this sounded pretty darn interesting and had to give it a go. I bought pillsburry devils food cake. I mixed the entire package with twelve ounces diet coke and one egg white and whisked it all together. Then I put a tablespoon of the batter into a mini muffin pan sprayed with nonstick pam. It ended up making 60 mini muffins at 32 calories each! I let them bake at 350 for twenty minutes and they came out oh so moist and perfectly delicious. I can pack three for less than 100 calories and they are totally enough! This is awesome, now I wonder if it would work with pancake mix..... or cookies? anyone? |

Well since I've heared here that the calculators aren't supposed to be accurate for people under 21 I used a calculator that figures out the bmr for those under 21. I thought the bmr was the ammount of calories your body needs just to be alive, so I figured I would have to add everything else to that number. I'm guessing I have it wrong?lol you can see my confusion xp thank you for the quick response btw ^-^ |

turning 20 in 9 days, 5'7" 127lbs and about 1800cals a day I start to wonder, if you're 20, are you supposed to eat under the recommended calories for a teen or an adult? what about when ur 21, which way do you go? i mean i'm sure ur metabolism doesnt just switch from one day to another when u turn 21. Just something i thought of one day and just wanted to hear what others think |

i have tried this banana bread recipe, not sure if you're opposed to using splenda or not but i found that if you cook it in an 8x8 pan and cut it into about 50g peices, each one is about 80cal,so not bad at all in my opinion.my family loves these. 1 1/4 cup wheat flour 1 1/4 tsp baking soda 2 1/2 tsp salt 2 egg whites 1 1/2 cup mashed bananas 1/2 cup splenda 1/4 cup applesauce (can use low fat yogurt for a small difference in calories) 3 tsp vanilla 1/8 tsp nutmeg 1/2 tsp baking powder 1)mix dry ingredients except sugar 2)mix wet ingredients and sugar 3)mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients 4) pour into pan and bake for around 30 min at 350degrees hope this helps, they arent too sweet, which is how my family loves them, but you can easily add more spenda if you want yours sweeter |

HAHA! I sooo agree with this, I once read in a magazine (cant recall exactly which one) that eating food smothered in lemon would cut its calories in half. Its like society as a whole refuses to believe that losing weight is as simple as calories in/calories out. ...well what to do but keep hearing all the nonsensicle jibber jabber |

| Maintaining | how do i increase my calorie intake without gaining weight? | Mar 31 2009 18:46 (UTC) |

I totally agree with rolucie92, i went for a while on 300-400 calories a day. It was the stupidest thing i couldve done once i researched the effects of not eating enough calories. Needless to say i was scared outta my mind to gain any weight, i was at 125lbs and i knew increasing calories would increase weight, but i decided to just go for it, the long term effects were not worth it so i didnt do it gradually.the next day i made myself eat 1500 cal (eat calorie dense foods!!!otherwise you'll feel so stuffed!) a couple of days later i weighed myself out of curiosity and yes i was up 2-3lbs. i kept it up, two weeks after changing my calorie intake i reweighed and i was back at my 125lbs eating 1500cal. trust me the change is sooooo worth it, i know it can be so scary to think of increasing, but you will be EXTREMELY glad you did! I know i am, plus the weight fluctuation wasnt even noticeable, all my clothes still fit like it should. dont even get me started on how bad it feels not to eat enough. |
